Chapter 8.2
No matter, mistake or not, he would continue on. Mistakes are meant to happen, and they can be fixed. As they say, anything lost can be found again except time wasted. Damien was not going to lose time.
“Stand.”
Listening to Damien, the ex mayor stood up and looked at Damien. He knew that he couldn’t speak unless he was spoken to. Most nobles had a bad attitude, hopefully Damien didn’t as well.
“Name, date, year, location.” Damien asked nonchalantly.
“Ve, it’s second Bear, tenth year. As for location, we are seven clicks from Moon city.” Ve spoke fast trying not to upset Damien.
Damien took everything in, but he couldn’t process the year. It’s not that he couldn’t, but tenth year can mean anything. From his old memories, he was on the twelfth year, but from then till now wasn’t long.
The year goes from zero to a hundredth, after it reaches a hundredth it goes back to zero. The average lifespan of Xylan was one hundred and fifty years. Since all of the people he knew died, Damien knew that there was more than a two hundred year gap between then and now.
In two hundred years, a lot can change, however he should be able to guess who is on the throne. The king back then only had one son who could inherit the throne, so Damien guessed it was him. However, guesses were never accurate.
As for the months on planet Zome, there were twelve of them. Bear, Ox, Vulcan, Carp, Eel, Crab, Lion, Fox, Turtle, Dragon, Phoenix, Tiger.
“King Drake?” Damien asked Ve as he crossed his arms.
“King Drake? Noble sir, that was more than six mil ago if I haven’t gotten it wrong.” Ve answered him after thinking about it for a second.
One mil is equal to one thousand years. If at least six mil has passed since then, a lot has changed since then.
‘Six mil! My guess shouldn’t have been that far off, I didn’t think that I would be standing here this far into… never mind.’ Damien’s calculation was off by a lot, he expected to be in a world where at least two hundred years passed. Never would he have thought that so much time has passed.
In six mils, what could have changed? There were bound to be new kings, and new abilities being discovered. However for so much time to pass, that surely couldn’t be all that’s changed.
‘Wait, Adrian was on a planet called earth, so how could this be Zome. From the way it seems, it looks like Zome never disappeared. I highly doubt that he was kept in that place for a long period of time, maybe two or three days at most. If that is the case, there are bound to be traces left of earth still around, I just need to find it.

Also, how are these people alive? If Zome got revived, no matter what they should still be dead. Even the beast that hang around should be dead, and yet they are clearly alive. Did Everit not only revive me, but everyone else as well? No, there is no way that’s possible. Such a being doesn’t exist, there are bound to be some humans left as well. His power couldn’t revive earth and revive every creature at the same time, no one is capable of that!’
Just thinking about it made Damien’s head hurt slightly. He didn’t realize it earlier, but now he did. Everit didn’t just revive him, almost everything was revived. Heck, even this town that shouldn’t be here, is here.
Damien has his doubts in mind, even if Zome was revived, Earth should still have a few fragments left.
“I see, lead me to my office.” Damien told Ve.
Damien didn’t pay the surrounding people any mind, at least not yet. He still has to figure out a few things before he can decide his plan of action.
If six mil has passed, he had a lot of catching up to do. Who knows what state his nation is in and what kind of alliances are going on.
One thing is confirmed for sure, he still has his ability. It’s bright outside, thus his day skill is working. He can feel everyone’s presence around him even without looking. It’s a feeling he hadn’t felt in a long time.
“Certainly, however I must advise you that the state of our town isn’t that great.” Ve told him honestly.
Damien already knew these things because of the box that popped up earlier, so he wasn’t surprised. He did not think Ve would tell him though, which caught him off guard. There weren’t that many people who would be honest like Ve was, Damien made a mental note about him.
As they walked past the crowd of people, they arrived at a small building. It was made of logs. Not too advanced, and Damien didn’t expect much from this town. Everything here was made up of logs, so how could he not expect the mayor's building to be made up of one as well.
Ve lead him inside the building, but Damien was greeted by a pop up message instead.
Entering management mode...
Management Mode - Able to manage the town's affairs, as well as open the exchange system.
Damien’s eyes blinked multiple times, it seems that this was Everit’s true gift. He almost wanted to shout in joy, no matter how you looked at it, this was a cheat. A moment of Adrian’s memories past in Damien’s head and he realized that the layout of this management mode could be considered the same as in those RTS games.
A smile crept up on his face, this was simply fantastic. Although Adrian is no longer here, he is still helping Damien out. He made a silent vow in his heart, that if Adrian’s mother was still around, he would save her. He didn’t think she would be alive, but if she was, he would help Adrian out.

He could use Adrian’s experience in those RTS games to help him build up this town. The layout was the same, but there were a few added features. The exchange system for example, was like a shop in an RTS. You can buy goods there that you need with real money.
“Noble sir, here are all the tax papers as well as management information for the past year and current year.” Ve told Damien as he was already standing behind a small brown table holding a folder of papers.
Damien clicked his tongue, Ve made him realize that he was still in the room. “Out.” Damien’s voice was as cold as ever.
Hearing what the noble said, Ve made his way towards the door. He didn’t know what he did to piss him off, but he didn’t want to find out what would happen if he stuck around either.
“Wait. Bring me some clothes.” Damien stopped him before he could leave the room.
Currently Damien wasn’t wearing anything. It wasn’t that he didn’t notice before, but that he could slightly care less about it at the time. Now however was different. He would not allow himself to wander around in public nude. The crowd before already got a good look at him, there was no need for more to get a view.
“Certainly.” Ve replied in a hurry as he scurried out the door.
While waiting for Ve to return, Damien started messing around with the exchange system. It had a variety of items, it even sold ability gems that he could buy. Granted they cost a lot more than he had right now, but in the future it would be different. Damien’s body tingled with excitement, imagine a whole army full of ability users. How devastating would that be!
It was easy for him to transfer over the money that the town had into the exchange system. He transferred over fifty percent of what he had.
The reason he did that was because a few items caught his eye, and he wanted to buy them.
Status Viewer - You’ll be able to see your own stats, as well as the overall stats of another. To open your stats, just say Status. To view others overall stats, just say view.
Identification Scroll - Identify one object of any grade.
Green Dagger - Please use Identification scroll to see stats.
Manny(Builder) - Manny is the first son of four. Out of his brothers, his skill in crafting is slightly lower than theirs, but faster than others. He is able to build anything as long as he is given enough time and resources. At a greater cost, he can use his ability to instantly finish a project of any size.
Every cent was spent in the exchange system, and the things he got took no time to arrive. In his hand was a dagger that had a silver grip, but black blade. In his other hand was a piece of tan paper rolled up.
When he brought Manny, a dwarf appeared in front of him. With a hammer in one hand and a saw in another.
The status viewer cost him five gold, the identification scroll cost him five gold as well. The green dagger cost ten gold, he could have brought a white one for five gold but he got this instead. However Manny costed thirty gold, which was a steal. While browsing through the exchange system, the other builders in his family costed several thousand gold which he did not have.

Of Men and Dragons, Book 2
Jack, S'haar, and all their family are back. After crashing his ship on an underdeveloped world, Jack found friends and family among the terrifying cat-lizard natives of the world, but now mere survival is no longer enough. They must carve out a new home for themselves in the landscape of the now rapidly changing world. Raiders, politics, and even nature threaten their happiness and their lives while they struggle to deal with the nightmares and traumas of yesterday. They'll need to depend on each other more than ever if they hope for their new home to have any kind of future. In case you missed it, here's book one. ATTENTION: This is soft sci-fi rather than hard sci-fi, hence why I chose that tag. For those of you unfamiliar with the distinction, here's what Wikipedia had to say. 1. It explores the "soft" sciences, and especially the social sciences (for example, anthropology, sociology, or psychology), rather than engineering or the "hard" sciences (for example, physics, astronomy, or chemistry). 2. It is not scientifically accurate or plausible; the opposite of hard science fiction. Soft science fiction of either type is often more concerned with character and speculative societies, rather than speculative science or engineering. The term first appeared in the late 1970s and is attributed to Australian literary scholar Peter Nicholls.

8 181Let Sleeping Gods Lie
To the west, the old empire of Ryedyn lays dormant beneath its blanket of ash and dust, a slumbering giant of history. To the east is the Sunken Moon, where the goddess that has forgotten her past sits alone atop her cold, wet, throne. All the majesty that this world once held has fallen to ruin, and what remains doesn't have much time left. Now only a few stand between the world and the end. A nameless novitiate in service to a god, a broken warrior with ambitions of matricide, and a strange man sealed with forgotten magic. Within these three are held the answers to the past, and the keys to the present. Let Sleeping Gods Lie is an epic tale of war and tragedy that follows multiple characters as their stories intersect, collide, and finally reveal the truths of the world and the lies that destroyed it.
8 88A Cleric's Life for me.
This is a casually written story loosely based on TTRPG games like DnD and Pathfinder. The attempt of the story is to have a slow growth in power and comical set of characters who eventually grow close and set off for more serious adventures. There will be plenty of familiars and funny tales that don't involve combat. The intention is not to be a goody-two-shoes cleric story where nothing bad happens. The intention for this story was a slow paced grungy story where everything seemed great at first and things just kept getting worse. I learned how shitty of a story that is to write and honestly I am just not good enough to get the idea down. I plan on revisiting it later.
