Diego and Alice successfully put the dragon brain inside the storage room and quietly closed the door. With it the last of light evaded the room and darkness made it hard to figure anything out. Not that the fly could see it.
Enough time had passed, and the fly's body was just covered in its own cocoon.

He felt claustrophobic and lonely. The once comforting threads of silk now turned into cold wet cords clinging to his skin. Wings on his back felt constrained, and he wanted nothing more than to escape.
He first tried struggled with his hands, tiny sticks that barely affected the silk, aside from a weird wet splurg. His legs were the same. Even when he pushed against the wall of threads with all his 8 legs, it didn't budge in the slightest.
He then tried biting through the cocoon, but to his surprise he noticed his mouth was replaced by something brittle like straw. He kept poking around with his mouth, until a feeling of nausea overcame him almost naturally. The fly refrained from puking, he was hungry, and didn't want to throw his stomach contents up.
For a moment the fly considered imaginating the stream again, but quickly abadoned that idea. It never affected anything outside of his body, so why should he expect anything else?
In his frustration the fly shaked his head, and his wings strangled even further in the mess of threads. A bump at one part of his head shocked him back to reality. The fly frowned. Since when did he have a bulge on his head?

It didn't feel painful to bump stuff with it, in fact, it felt very durable and might even be the hardest part on his body. He analyzed with "Mental Logic" that he might be able to break out with it. It was better than doing nothing.
He bumped against the cocoon. He felt it giving in, and kept pounding. Crack after crack appeared, but no light entered his sight. Blindly he kept pounding, the sooner he was out of this cold place, the better.

The Dawnfire Archives
It begins in the endless wastes, with an unknown man arriving at the bottom of the tallest mountain in existence. A mysterious voice provides few directions, bringing more questions than answers. Regardless, after choosing a name and weapon... the man begins to climb. He will not be alone on this journey. A young individual from a different reality has also made his way to The Climb. But what does their arrival bode for the people of this world? And where does climbing the mountain truly lead? This is my second novel on Royal Road, the first being "Beyond the Horizon's Eye", and the third being "The Card Thief of Culnivar". This story is much more GameLIT than Xianxia, and takes place in a different setting with an entirely new cast of characters. It does, however, contain several ties between the stories. Average post between 1000 - 3000 words.

Guerdon
The sheer vastness of the planes of reality meant that if a combination of laws is stable enough, then it probably exists. The protagonist encounters one such stranger than fiction world that he has a hard time wrapping his head around. He is left alone in an Alien Reality. To him survival isn't the most important after all that he had been through, but he refuses defeat in his pursuit to understand the strange reality he finds himself in. Join this journey of his new story in finding out the answers and secrets of this world. I like this Genre to put it bluntly but I've always found that illogical 'Science' and flawed laws of the world, typical in these stories. So, I've decided to fix that. I have tried my best to make weirdness make sense in this World filled with Magic. Short of simulating them to verify, the laws of this new world should make some reasonable sense and will be consistent (As much as I humanely can keep it that way). This might mean my story might vary in it's progression speed but as a compensation, I promise to have a lot more sensible Cliffhangers if I must put them in. Also, I'm not a big fan of over using vocabulary when telling a story. So, My Language will be very unsophisticated. Hope that's not a putoff. So, Enjoy your reading!

Dark Winter
It is always darkest before the dawn. After the divorce, Katie Fox was forced to live with her mother in New York after the judge ruled that her father, a former Army Ranger, wasn’t stable enough. They called him ‘that crazy bunker guy’ or ‘that paranoid freak.’ Whatever they called him, Christopher Fox was a Prepper. He taught those willing to listen how to survive in a catastrophe and how to prepare for the end of the world. More than that though, he was her father and she would rather spend her life in his underground bunker than another minute in that New York highrise. So, she ran away. The date is November 28th, Black Friday and hell has been unleashed on the world. A freak storm mixes with a deadly virus that turns its victims into mindless hunters of flesh. Katie will have to use everything her father taught her to survive and reach the safety of his underground bunker. Note from the author: Thanks for stopping by! The plan is to upload a chapter every Saturday or Sunday (as my schedule allows). Hope you enjoy the story!
