Chapter 19: Elusive Girl?
“Buagagaga…”
If you ask why I’m swimming like this with my life on the line, then look behind me!
This elf girl really wants me dead, and because of that, she’s chasing me through hell.
There seems to be some sort of junction underneath this huge lake. Feeling oppressed by the monster that is after my life, I started swimming on this direction.
She’s not even giving me a time to relax!
With each stroke, she would aim to grab my legs and take me with her to the afterlife.
While I agree that her ass could be considered as a prize possession, it’s not enough to warrant this monstrous behavior!
“?!”
At the same time I thought of that, she started speeding towards my direction!
Dammit girl, calm down!
But there was no way to say those words underwater.
Continuing up the juncture, I could see a speck of light.
That must be the exit!
But this girl isn’t making it easy for me.
“Guga?!”
She threw a sudden kick that propelled me upwards towards the exit!
Why thank you!
I used that force to my advantage and climbed atop that passage of water.
The growing light ahead was my sign that I am nearing my destination.
And finally………
Reaching out an arm, I grabbed to whatever solid surface I could grab on and popped my head out in an explosion of water. I swam to the side and hoisted myself out.
“Haa… Oh my….”
After taking deep breaths, I looked around the vicinity.
“Another cave?”
I mumbled to myself while dragging my tired body up.
If not for the “air training” I did back in my village, I would’ve surely died.
Can’t believe that training that I did to last through deep kisses would save my life.
Life really is a big puzzle. The mysterious surrounding it are unpredictable.
“Still, that girl really is dangerous.”
Facing the edge of the water, I took a stance and grabbed my sword tightly.
I don’t plan on on inflicting harm, but perhaps to teach her a little bit of lesson.
I counted 10 seconds. I counted to 20. I counted to 30 in my head.
The silence is wrecking my brain.
Why has she not appeared yet?
Our distance shouldn’t be that far against each other.
She should be here by now………unless…….

“Shit!”
I hurriedly removed the strap hanging my sword, and threw it somewhere on the ground.
After hearing that loud *clang*, I took a leap of faith back into the black water.
Saving her might have no meaning, but I will not let such a cute girl die because of me!
And just what my fears had told me, the girl really is in a dire state.
She lay there unmoving, and bubbles seems to be coming out of her slack-open mouth.
I puddled my way to her immediately, grabbing her to the waist while I slid one of her slender arm around my neck.
Through that darkened passage, I put my arms out straight and kicked us up to the surface.
We were able to successfully climbed out and immediately, I laid the girl upside-down.
“Koho!”
I stood there, dripping wet, as I watched the girl cough up the water she drank all the way. She was naked, so it was inevitable for me to see her everything.
And when I said everything, I literally meant EVERYTHING.
Not even a speck of cloth was hiding the most tender parts of her body, save for her peach colored hair wrapped around her pretty face.
Therefore, the great gentleman that I am, took my shirt off and offered it to her as an apology.
“Here… I know this is not enough, but it’s better than going commando at least.”
Since I tilted my head sideways, I wasn’t able to see what type of expression she made after getting up. But judging from how she grabbed my shirt, I would say that she’s mad, at least.
“……………Well, can you see in the dark?”
With my head still turned sideways, I broke the silence with a stupid question.
“You think I’m some sort of bat?!”
I could feel her stare rigid with anger. But what’s important is that she answered back, and that means that she had deduced our current state at the moment.
From around us, there was a series of stones buried on the wall, emitting a faint warm light. And just what you’d expect, the color of that stone is green. Without it, I could imagine this place to be pitch black.
“Ahaha, it’s cold, huh?”
“……”
It was evident that she does not trust me. After all, it’s my fault that all of this occurred.
A minute passed. Two minutes after.
“By the way, my name’s Kansouke. What’s yours?”

I faced her as I introduced myself.
Her ripened peach hair went a little bit pass her shoulders, still wet all the way down to its tip. A pair of eyes as deep as the sea reflected the idiotic smile I displayed to make her feel at ease.
Wait, where have I seen…… that beautiful face?
““AAGGHH!!””
We pointed towards each, as if our brains vibrated at the same time.
“The molester!”
“The ungrateful girl!”
Now, as I look upon her face twitching with that fake smile, I suddenly remembered.
The girl who left me to fate and begone with her ass on the line.
“I am not ungrateful! Rather, you should be thanking me!”
Her words made me stare at her blankly. It took me another moment to realize what she fully meant.
……She must meant those pair of “knives”.
……Ah, if so, I do owe her my life.
“Thank you.” I bowed my head.
“Hmph, as long as you know.”
Hearing that ungrateful tone, I raised my head.
The sincerity behind my bow made her understand, as her facial expression gradually softened.
If that’s the case, it’s good if she forgets it all together that she was just spouting some horrifying words not too long ago.
“So, would you tell me your name now?”
“……Celica.”
For some reason, she blushed furiously after saying that.
Gosh, you don’t have to act so embarrassed you know! It makes me want to assault you.
But that’s not what I came here for, so I’m gonna have to put my desires to a halt until we get out of this hell hole.
“Celica, do you know how to use magic?” I said, as I reached for my sword.
“And?”
“If it’s not too much trouble…“
“I don’t plan to cooperate.”
She crossed her arms and a pair of bountiful mounds were squished. It made me smile wryly.
“Then use this sword at least. You don’t have a weapon to protect yourself, right?”
I threw Fary’s Tear towards her and she catches it in surprise.
“—Eh? What about you?”
“Precisely why I’m asking you if you could use magic. Healing magic.”
I asked, expecting a proper reply this time.
“……Mhm.” She nodded.
Even if she didn’t answer, I already know. Since elves have an inborn knack for utilizing healing spells. I asked for the sole purpose of getting her to cooperate.
Now then, it’s been eight years since I’ve last done this.
Come to think, the last time I tried using “her” powers, it caused me to go blind for a few days. My head ache for a full week, and lifting a single finger took a lot more effort than it would seem.
Well, for now, let’s try creating something simple.
“Celica, back off a little bit, okay?”
“What do you plan to do?”
“Oh, just recalling something painful. If something goes wrong, I’ll leave myself to your healing magic.”
She turned silent. Or actually, the thing gathering in my hand blew her mind.
Imagine…
A phantasmal sword cloaked in shadows…
One that is weightless…
One that slashes through the light…
One that pierces the darkness of dawn…
Its overall length, 100 cm…
I took a deep breath. “Shade shift—”
*wooosh*
The shadowy blade successfully formed in my hand accompanied by a sharp pain, piercing my brain.
“—Ngnhhh… Guagh!!”
Intense coughing fit that drew blood followed after that piercing pain.
“Celica…….”
I called out to her.
“……”
No answer.
She seems to be too dumbfounded to cast any sort of healing spell.
“Celica!!”
“Eh… Sure!”
She pressed her palms on my back, and as if I took a quick shot of lighting, something comfortable jolted through my entire body.
But for this girl to used such an advance healing spell without uttering a single word, her affinity on casting healing spells must be really high.
At the same time, the intense pain subsided, making me sigh in relief.
Gurgling, I spat the last unpleasant taste forming in my mouth.
“Thanks…”
Muttering that word, I straighten to my back and faced her with a smile.
“Was that some sort of dark magic?” She curiously asked.
“Something like that.”
“What do you mean “something like that”? You almost died!”
“That’s why I asked you beforehand, remember?”
As I try to get away with that lame excuse, she suddenly whipped my face.
*Wa-pak!*
“—And what if I didn’t help?!”
“But you did?”
While I touch that side of my cheek that was just slapped, Celica patted me on my shoulder.
“Tsk, there’s no helping it. Let’s get out of here first.”
“You’re so honest~”
And thus, this half naked girl led the way through that dark cave, only illuminated by the tiny flicker of light coming from the green gems stucked on the wall.
With each step she took, I watched as her butt jiggle from side to side behind her back.
Did she completely forgot that she’s not wearing anything underneath?
