《Is there a day after tomorrow》Ch 13 Chaotic space 1

In a chaotic space, far, far away from Earth. A piece of land the size of a small city was floating between multiple purple portals.
In that landmass, a certain man was lying on his couch lazily smoking cigars and sipping an alcoholic drink, enjoying himself.
The villa he had for himself was truly grand. Decorations made from the rarest minerals, statues of myriad creatures and lifelike carvings of the evolution of mankind.
In front of the man, there was a globe of light floating and mysteriously changing scenes every second depicting different places on Earth.
Chuckling lightly, he observed the globe in interest from time to time and enjoyed himself thoroughly.
''Well well well, it would seem that they have adapted to the new environment better than I expected. '' He mumbled quietly and raised his gaze towards the sky and seemed to expect something coming sooner or later.
''Whatever, they will come sooner or later so why stress?'' Puffing out smoke clouds, he seemed to see from the corner of his eyes an beam of rainbow coloured light headed straight for his villa.
Nodding his head feeling quite pleasant about himself being right about the timing he was prepared to receive the guest.
The pillar of light descended in front of him, revealing the guests features a little amidst the brilliance of light.
Man nearly 2 meters in height, skin of pure white without any blemishes, golden hair and bright blue eyes. Wearing magnificent armor that seemed to change colors every once in a while he walked out of the rainbow light beam, face full of rage.
''Trickster of the crossroads!! This is not what all of us agreed to! We chose you as the neutral party for a reason for guarding the seal on the system. Do you intend to anger all the god societies with your little stunt?''

''Now, calm down, Watcher of Eternity. I did no harm to any of the parties.''
''How do you intend to explain the system being released into the world prematurely and taking a head start in hoarding the best candidates for yourself?''
The Trickster leisurely puffed on his cigar and replied in an amused tone.
''But I haven't thought about it? I really just thought that it would be funny to see all of your faces when I started the process just little bit earlier than planned, besides that I have yet to contact a single person nor have laid down any pitfalls or like for anyone.''
''The North does not stand for such petty games. You had better watch your steps carefully, Eleguá.''
The trickster's face turned incredibly solemn as he stood up. His whole being shifted from lazy, easygoing old man into a valiant dark skinned warrior, seemingly ready to fight his mortal enemies to the death.
''Watcher you should know better to not use true names amongst divinities. The rules concerning it are there for a reason. Never, ever utter that name out loud again or I will make sure you will not have a chance to do so again.''
''You aren't even proficient in naming curses or mystical techniques in that department, so what is the big fuzz?''
''Say that again when in the presence of Da Voodoo Mastah and see how you'll shit blood for the next millennium motherfucker.''
Hearing that the Watcher of Eternity gained some red tint in his pale white cheeks and was speechless for a while, feeling a bit embarrassed he finally spoke again in a sincere manner.
''That was my bad. I am sorry for taking your name lightly.''
Seeing the Watcher embarrassed and admitting his mistakes, the valiant form of the Trickster of the Crossroads vanished into thin air and once again the old man lazily lied down and lit himself a new cigar.

''Getting back to the important topic: Yes I did unseal the system that was entrusted to me, but I have not done anything that goes against the collective interest. I merely wished to let them get adapted a moment earlier to ensure more survivors. I felt that the original release schedule for the dungeons and connecting foreign pathways would not be optimal for the game, I merely released lowest class re-animating and mutation virus into the world.''
''Hmm... You do have a point there and I feel that other societies can accept that. It should be a good thing that the people have strengthened themselves before everyone starts to recreate their dungeons. '' Watcher pondered deep in thought and said a moment later in a slightly helpless tone.
''Regardless of what your reasons were, I can only report to the council what you have done and why you have done so. I believe that some punishment will be dealt but since it did not harm their interests, it should be limited.''
''Of course, I am fully aware that all societies need to maintain their dignity and uphold the established rules. Without some nominal punishment some short tempered deities would not be able tolerate my actions.''
'''Mmmm. It's always easier to talk to smart deities when they know what's up.''
''Would smart deities risk offending everyone just to see how funny their faces look? ''
''... '' The watcher looked at the Trickster speechlessly and conjured rainbow light enveloping him, not wanting to talk to him any longer.
Seeing the light flash into the chaotic space Trickster shook his head and sighed lightly.
''This is all I can do to help you for now... Hopefully my actions saved at least some innocent lives even if they don't know about it.
Dragging his tired body back to the couch, reaching into empty air and pulling a bottle of single malt whiskey with an earth style label, he poured himself a new drink.
''It would be such a shame to let people who invented such delicacies lose their craftsmanship over competition for souls by us deities. I will never hand them over to those greedy bitches.''
Take this extra time I have bought for you and grow stronger, he whispered in his heart.

Old fanfic from when I was still a novice writer. It has a lot of imagination, but, unfortunately, it's got that 'fanfic' quality to it.
