Mittana’s life wasn’t anything special, but she was a bit odd as far as Sil`phane go. She was born in her colony, Gondaluke, and raised by her pride like any other, but as she grew she became more and more resistant to the idea of going out and hunting, with the pride or alone. It’s not that she found anything wrong with it. She just thought it was boring. What fun was it to hunt down and kill an unaware weak animal with weapons that were so advanced that the only reason they didn’t have in built AI to doing the work of the pride was to satisfy the whims of the Sil`Phane. What’s more is that she knew that her people had the technology to raise stock, slaughter it and bring it to them without any work on their part and that was ignoring the technology to just make any kind of meat that they desired. To her, it was all just boring. The problem had already been solved.
The problem was exacerbated when Mittana went to see a fight at the Arena. The combattants fought fiercely with weapons she had never seen before, in ways that surprised and wowed her, against opponents that could learn and adapt from past experiences and from each other. She had no desire to enter the Arena but she became addicted to watching the battles that were waged. She had her favorite individuals and teams, but what really caught her eye were their tools. It wasn’t long before she created a list of all the weapons she saw used, their abilities, and stats. From there she moved on to trying to learn about the technology they were using. What she found though is that no one that she could find knew anything about how they worked. And it wasn’t just the weapons they didn’t know about, but any technology that was more advanced was almost impossible to learn anything about.

One day, Mittana met an adventurer out on one of the hunts that she was forced to endure by her pride. This adventurer had made it pass the introductory challenges that Debris posed and been fairly successful in the Arena. Mittana snuck off away from her pride with them and asked all sorts of questions. She learned that the gear they used in the Arena are called ARMS and while the low ranking ARMS were weak and standardized, the higher the rank ARMS the more customizable and powerful they became and the highest ranking ones were fully customizable. This could lead to them being weaker than the lower rankings ARMS if mishandled, but they also had the potential to be more powerful than anything that has ever been seen.
Mittana and the adventurer talked all the way back to Gondaluke. She learned quite a bit from the adventurer, but there was one important thing that she had learned above all else for her. The way to gain more knowledge about the technology that her ancestors had stripped from most of their current generations was to find the people who provided assistance to adventurers. She asked the adventurer about it they didn’t know. They’d found an ARMS in a dungeon and ever since had been living the life of an adventurer, clearing dungeons as found them, selling off what he found, and moving along. Mittana was saddened by this, but the adventurer did point her towards the Nith`phane who always seemed to be the ones who dealt with the more complex things he needed done with the ARMS and the ones to answer when the called for help. The adventurer said that he’d seen that it was a Nith`phane that repaired any of the damaged technology in other settlements.
Some of residents Gondaluke consider this period to be the Great Nith`phane Hunt. When Mittana got home, she had a goal set. Search out the Nith`phane and get them to teach her everything they know. Every house, business, building, and cave was looked through and every rock and tree were investigated at every opportunity by Mittana. Her investigation went on for a year and was beginning to get under the skin of every resident. That’s when she had a break. She found one, but not just any one. She found the Debris Reclamation Association’s Technical Operations Manager. Without hesitation, once she knew what the DRA was, she joined.

The DRA was unlike anything she had been exposed to before. Advanced technology was all around her and she was required to take classes and apprentice. She needed to be taught many things to reach the required competency to fulfill any of the roles within the DRA. There was one other thing that stood out about the DRA. On the outside it took her a year to find 1 Nith`phane. Here, they were all around her, making up the majority of the population. It was too much for a Sil`phane to endure. Her instincts kicked in. She tried to fight it, but from time to time she found that she just couldn’t help it. She had to torment some of them. She was bigger than them and they were just so adorably tormentable. Of course, they didn’t appreciate this and once her training was done they sent her back to Gondaluke to man the outpost there which was essentially just a repair shack. However, she convinced some of the Nith`phane directors to become more public and open a hall in Gondaluke for adventurers and any new immigrants. She had other reasons for wanting this, but the DRA directors thought that there could be no harm from exploring it in an out of the way place like Gondaluke so they sent some staff there to run it along with Mittana, but it was to be largely left understaffed unless needed. It wasn’t long before Humans arrived.

The Oath of Oblivion
Rane could draw power from the dead and make it his own. For some, such an arcane birthright would be a boon and a blessing. To Rane, it meant being forced on a path of bloodshed and death based on the whims of his slavers. To commit acts that went against every human instinct he retained. Years of torture and captivity have left his body weak and his mind in shambles, yet he still retains a few, fragmented memories. They hint at a life beyond what his prison and what his cruel masters have allowed him. At a family he's lost, and a promise he's already broken. To escape, Rane will have to face fierce beasts, unhinged mages and the true essence of what it means to be human. And as the peace between ancient kingdoms grows uneasy and the world plunges headfirst into madness, the cost of freedom might prove high. In the chaos of conflict and men’s ravenous ambitions, the true name of the world has been long forgotten. Nations wage bloody campaigns with remnants of ancestral magic while nature itself crumbles around them. Only one pillar of stability stands unshaken for millennia, anchoring the realm to balance. One single truth that no mage has yet to break. Oaths, once sworn, cannot be broken. Under the Arbiter's watchful eye, civilizations rise and crumble. People live and die. The words of the strong become law, and law shapes reality. And that is just the reality Rane has to change. Dark High Fantasy story with multiple alternating POVs. The first book is complete and chapters are released daily. Disclaimer: This is a zero to hero story. Don't come in expecting the main character to be powerful right away. 8 206Short Stories - Bite-sized sci-fi tales

8 297Heaven Falls
-Book One Synposis- Vorlanys. A realm created by the angels for mortals. For millennia, many angels have lived amongst the mortals, aiding the mortals in their advancement. The High Angel Forynda has only tolerated this, however. She is concerned that ultimately the flaws of both angels and mortals would combine to create a cataclysm that would shatter both Vorlanys and the angels' home realm of Ceuna. Tragedies, unforeseen by any mortal or angel, set in motion that long-feared calamity and hurtle both worlds toward an irrevocable conflagration. Neither will ever be the same. Follow the lives of multiple characters, from lowly inhabitants of minor villages to the angels of Ceuna themselves, as they experience this approaching doom. *** -Book Two Synopsis- Ceuna has divided. Angels and mortals have taken their sides in a war for the fate of Vorlanys. Forynda, the High Angel and ruler of Ceuna, intends to end the entire struggle in a swift and decisive stroke with her awesome power. Meanwhile, the dissident angels, led by Omonrel, and their mortal allies cling to a thin hope that fate will break in their favor. All hopes for a quick end to the conflict will soon be dashed, however, to the detriment of all sides. The war for Vorlanys will take on a frightening new turn while mortals and angels alike discover previously unknown truths about their reality. ~~~ Some additional comments for readers: This is a project with a very ambitious arc encompassing a huge number of characters over a long period of time. If you are looking for a tight focus on just a handful of characters, that's not this story. It is meant to provide a broad series of perspectives on an absolutely calamitous world-shaping war. Thanks for reading and be sure to leave comments, ratings, and reviews at your convenience. I love hearing from you.

8 170Getting Hard (Journey of a Tank)
Herald Stone always built tank characters in every MMORPG he played. To be immortal—that was his first Goal, a simple childhood dream. However, the turbulent realities of life put an end to his gaming days. Years passed, and Herald Stone, now having attained success and stability, was presented with the opportunity to redeem himself...to fulfill his first Goal. Trivial? Childish? Others might think so. But Herald Stone always fulfilled his Goals—every single one. No matter what. Immortality beckoned in Mother Core Online, and this time Herald Stone would answer. Choosing a long-forgotten race, hidden away in an unknown region, the journey of an immortal tank begins. This is the tale of Herald Stone...getting hard. Schedule: Mon-Wed-Fri ~1.8k-2.3k words per chapter. Also published on Scribblehub. My other ongoing story: REND | Royal Road Expect a focus on building a true tank in MMORPGs. Heavy game elements and numbers are present. But actual math will take a backseat to strategies involving skill builds and synergies that steadily become more complex while remaining understandable. The main character is atypical in LitRPGs or web novels as a whole. He might take some getting used to. Character arcs will develop over a long period. What you see now will be different as the main character changes. The start of Getting Hard is slow-paced (more so than others of the genre) and includes world-building and character development before focusing on the LitRPG.
