One year passed after escaping from home and the winter season arrived.

In the dense forest of Istrila:

Alpha:(pissed) Dammit! I have already eaten half of the food that I stored for winter. It looks like I have to go to the city to get some work so, that I can save enough rations to last for winter.

Alpha lives in an abandoned house in the dense forest of Istrila near the district "Vierzon" which is famous for its timber. Alpha works as a tea helper and earns wages significantly less compared to grown-ups.

Town hall of Vierzon district:

Ernst Müller (owner of the tea stall where Alpha works): Hello son, Long time no see. Where have you been this whole time? Do you even know how much hard work I have to do just because you are not here?

Alpha:(nervous) I have been to my grandfather's house so, that's why I was unable to come Mr Müller.

Müller:(pleased) fine whatever might your reason be as long you come back it's okay but I have one thing to tell you kid that you must always stay alert for the soldiers because they might ransack your money anytime in the name of war.

Alpha was still traumatized because of the incident that happened to his parents so, every time he hears about soldiers looting in the name of war he started to have a death glare look on his face.

Alpha:(upset) Sir, Will you be kind enough to stop about this topic.

Müller:(surprised) I have never seen you this serious kid and you don't have to be because this is your age of playing around with friends and here you are working with me. Please don't get any ideas and leave again because if you do my workload will be doubled.

Alpha:(cheerful) Okay, I will not abandon you Mr Müller until you marry Ms Lina.

Müller:(embarrassed) Keep it down Alpha her father Mr Scholz is here.

Alpha:(with a grin on his face he shouts) LISTEN, EVERYONE! Mr Müller has a crush on Ms Lina. Mr Scholz, please give him your daughter's hand.

Mr Scholz:(super angry) Now I get it, you are the one who climb my roof the other night to meet my daughter isn't that right Müller.

Müller:(scared) Please sir leave me this time I will never do it again.

Mr Scholz:(still super-duper angry) I won't let you live to have a chance again like that.

Müller:(runs away) Argh! please someone save me from this demon.

Alpha:(cheerfully serving customers) Here you go.

After an hour of ruckus, Dr Fredrick who runs a small clinic came and settle peace between Müller and Scholz.

Alpha on the other hand is having the time of his life because he knows that once the frontlines draw near Istrila the government is going to go all out in war even if it means sacrificing millions of civilians.

Every day was fun for Alpha but then it started to get cold and all the shops gets closed due to snowstorms. Alpha, on the other hand, wasn't able to save up enough rations to survive for the whole season so, instead of waiting for the snowstorm to end, he went outside to look for small prey to eat.

Near the city gates of Vierzon:

Alpha:(struggling to walk) How much more do I have to search to get food?

Then suddenly his feet bumped into something and he fall to the ground.

Alpha: Ouch! Dammit, this wound might catch infection due to this harsh snow. I must immediately go towards Mr Fredrick's clinic he will treat me without any fee because he is a really good guy.

After that Alpha enters the city but then he is suddenly met with a horrible sight. The imperial army slaughtered old people, and capture young men for war and women to raise the birth rate of the country.

when Alpha reaches the town hall he saw Mr Müller and Ms Lina crops lying side by side. His eyes were full of tears and then he clench his fists.

Alpha:(while shouting) Why can't I live in peace. You dirty humans always end up destroying my home, workplace and every place I ever love. You kill people like they were crops or something how could you be this barbaric.

The imperial soldiers laugh at Alpha and from the soldiers, two men came who were wearing the finest clothes Alpha had ever seen. The first one was Lord Drake and the other one was Lord Dowding who were both the members of the Istrila alliance council.

Lord Drake:(while smoking his cigar) Listen kid grab some food from here and leave for your home. Don't get involved in this mess because you are too young to die yet. At least die like a warrior when you grow up.

Lord Dowding:(while patting Alpha's head) Look kid what we are doing is an act of kindness because in the end if people die by our hands they don't have to get tortured or suffer under Lizardmen's rule. In the end, everyone's going to die so, we allowed them to fight as a warrior or just die. For women, this is not that good but for men, it's quite easy.

After hearing everything Dowding and Drake said Alpha takes his food and leaves for his house in the forest and pledged to himself that no matter what happens in the future he is going to avenge every last human the army has ever killed.
