《My Cerberus Girlfriend》Book One: Chapter 17

"Who the hell are you?" Katina shouted.
The rock man with purple veins smiled at the beast woman and the cop. "I am your worse nightmare."
Roger pulled out his gun and pointed it at the strange man. "Alright, you! Put your hands up!"
"As you wish." The rock man held up his hands with his palms open.
On his palms, purple swirling light spheres appeared. They shined like marble balls, covered in light.
"Look out!" Cilla shouted.
The man threw the balls toward Roger.
The Cerberus girl charged into Roger, pushing him down as the balls flew over them. Both the balls hit a wall and exploded, leaving a cloud of purple gas.
The beast woman rose over Roger.
"That was close!" Cilla shouted.
The rock man stepped back, crossing his arms. He appeared to be waiting for the cop and beast woman's next move.
"What the hell is that?" Roger shouted.
Labda glared at the strange man. "He must be one of Medusa's stone minions. Sometimes she could reanimate her statues to follow her bidding. Whoever he was, he is completely obedient to Medusa."
The rock man laughed. "Are you making a move now?"
The beast woman rose and pounded their fists together.
"We're ready now!" Katina shouted before she charged.
The rock man's hands glowed and tossed purple stars like ninja shuriken weapons.
The three-headed beast woman dashed left and right until one purple star hit her leg and exploded. The heads screamed and collapsed to the floor
The rock man held up his fists. Purple blades flashed on his knuckles. "I am going to enjoy slicing and dicing you up."
Roger quickly fired his gun. He couldn't let the girls get hurt, even if they were monsters in one body

The bullets bounced off the rock man's face.
He lowered his energy blades and glared at Roger. "You want some too?"
With her chance, the beast woman shot an uppercut punch into the rock man's chin. She hit him so hard; he flew into the ceiling, high over the floor.
"We still want some!" Cilla shouted.
She jumped up, grabbed the rock man's legs.
Roger couldn't believe how high the girls could leap in their large, heavy body. Maybe the monsters from the underworld couldn't be affected by the actual laws of physics. Or maybe her body was full of magic. Greek magic, or whatever it was called.
She pulled the rock man out of the ceiling. Then while falling, she threw the rock man down, slamming him into the floor.
She landed on her feet and body-slammed the rock man.
A normal man would get broken into pieces by her. However, the rock man still moved.
The she-beast got off him.
"Damn! He's still alive!" Katina complained.
The rock man rose and brushed himself off. He chuckled as nothing has happened. "I love this body."
The beast woman swung her fist, but the rock man caught it. He squeezed her fist, making her heads screamed.
She dropped to her knees, screaming in pain. How strong was that stone guy?
He laughed. "I don't believe a big beast like you couldn't take me down!"
Roger won't let the beast girl suffer against a single henchman. He aimed his gun and fired again.
This time the bullet hit the rock man's right eye. He released the beast woman's hand and cried. "Ouch! F**K!"
Roger fired again, hitting the rock man's other eyes.
He covered his face and dropped to his knees, crying louder. "You shot my eyes out!"

Roger lowered his gun with a grin. Without his eyes, the rock man couldn't do anything.
"Nice work, baby!" Cilla cheered.
The beast woman rose and grabbed the rock man's neck. She lifted him up and slammed his head into the floor. She kept slamming him until he stopped moving.
"Damn, is that enough?" Katina asked.
She released the rock man, leaving his head on the broken floor. Still, he wasn't moving at all.
"We probably rendered him to unconsciousness," Labda suggested.
Katina growled. "Goddamnit! I wanted him dead!"
Roger approached her. "I think we better move before he wakes up."
"Wise decision," Labda suggested.
Katina rolled her eyes. "Don't blame me if he comes back to kick our asses."
Roger followed the beast woman into the next room. They entered the painting gallery before reaching the nature section.
Both of them stopped behind a green woman with snake hair, chanting as a strange stone statue shrunk in front of her.
That must be Medusa, one of the most famous monsters from Greek mythology. One look at her, and she could turn you into stone. Maybe the real Medusa was different, but Roger remembered his homework in high school. Perhaps he should thank himself for learning some Greek myths.
After the stone head stopped toward the size of a baseball, Medusa picked it up and turned around.
She glared at the Cerberus girl. "Oh, it's you."
The beast woman pointed her finger at the snake woman.
"Surrender now, Medusa!" Labda shouted. "We won't let you get away this time!"
Medusa rolled her eyes. "You hossssnetly think I ssshall let you take me back to the Underworld?"
"You have nowhere else to escape to," said Cilla. "We can take you peacefully without pain-"
"Or we can rip you into little pieces while you cry like a bitch!" Katina exclaimed with a giggle. "I think I'll prefer that."
Medusa stared at Roger. "And who are you?"
Roger covered his eyes while keeping his gun aimed at the greek monster. "Just don't move! You and your kind harmed enough innocence already!"
Medusa laughed. "A human and a monssster working together? Time sssurely have changed here."
"Roger is the kindest man to help us," said Cilla. "He will put you down, just like your golem freak!"
Medusa shrugged and placed the skull into her pocket. "I better conjure another minion to do my dirty work."
"What minion?" Katina asked.
Medusa smiled. "You'll ssssssssee."

The Dawn of Blood
As the saying goes, "Ignorance is bliss." That is a good way to describe us. We are constantly seeking to improve, to evolve. Coming up with laws and theories to better understand the world around us. But what if it was all for naught. The only way to live is to grow, to evolve, to adapt. This is my first novel so any feedback and criticism is greatly appreciated. I hope that I'm able to grow as a writer through this and hope that people enjoy my work. Credit for the cover image goes to Richard Luong. Check him out at https://tentaclesandteeth.deviantart.com.
