“It will be quite advisable to close our eyes for this” Vodka stated, matter-of-fact-ly.
“Just for your information, this is a library so quiet down” I scoffed.
“Did you really think we forgot to erect a sound barrier?” Rene smirked.
“Ah, that exists…” I said as I was struck with remembrance of what they used when Mordred and Rene fought.
“Well, step on the black smoke” Rene said playfully.
“Just so you both know”, I began, “I don’t trust your endeavors”
‘Mordred, is it fine?’ I asked him.
‘Yes, Your Majesty’ he replied while chuckling.
I fumed and pouted before putting my right foot on the shadow. Nothing happened.
I was sure a vein popped as I was pissed at their trickery.
Then the words, ‘…Macheere’ was uttered by Vodka and I felt myself pulled into the shadows.
Vodka and Rene looked at each other.
“Where did you transport her?” Rene spoke first.
“Tahamult desert” he replied with a grin.
“How close are you to there?” Rene asked.
“Two days” he replied.
“Hmm… well I am a day closer. Why didn’t you just send her to Madame Marielle?”
“She’d be killed the moment Marielle sets her eyes on her” Vodka said swiftly in reply.
“With Mordred there?” Rene retorted.
“Ah…” he began but trailed off.
“You forgot about him, didn’t you?” Rene scoffed.
“N-NO!” Vodka stuttered.
“Big bro, you lose your composure easily these days” Rene teased and the body of Lilian Harrison slumped to the floor.
Vodka sighed audibly and the sound barrier disappeared with Maddie West’s body slumping to the floor.
Lilian regained consciousness and looked around, “Wha----” Memories of school flooded her memory and some seemed to be erased or cut out.
“What the hell?” Maddie groggily said as she sat up baffled beyond measure.

“Brown…” were my first words as I stood up and looked around. All I could see was brown sand.
"Mordred, where are we?”
“In Tahamult desert”
“Why on earth or Vetranos did he send us to a desert?!” I shrieked. After calming down I asked Mordred to materialize.
“My Lady, I am afraid I cannot do no such thing” he said bluntly.
“Eh? Why?”
“He will probably recognize my energy”
“What? This ‘he’ probably recognizes my energy, right?”
“No. Anything not 'Immortal' is trash to him” Mordred said with a hint of anger in his voice.
“Uh-huh” , I said slowly absorbing this bit of info.
“You still won’t tell me who it is?” I asked as I started moving.
“No, I apologize but…”
“It’s fine. My memories will come back and I’ll find out then” I chuckled.
“Yes….” Mordred said softly.
“Although, I wonder what will happen” I mused.

“Hmm?”
“Ah, for me to remember it all, I wonder what will happen”
“It probably will go smoothly” Mordred said adamantly.
“Oh? And why do you think so?”
He chuckled, “That old lady is very fond of you”
I narrowed my eyes, “Suspicious….”
“Eh?! Your Majesty, how am I suspicious?” Mordred said flabbergasted.
I stayed quiet and just hummed a ‘Better times Ahead’ song.
I soon hear a low growl and I stopped walking, “Did you hear that?”
“Yes. It’s a desert scorpion”
“Is that so” I said quietly. A moment of silence. “What kind of stupidity! How am I supposed to know what a desert scorpion is ?!”
“Ah...” came Mordred’s voice.
I flopped down on the sand exhausted mentally. I felt a bump on my butt and reached for my jeans’ back pocket. I brought out the bump and my iPhone 9 was staring at me. I blinked as though waiting for the image to register.
“So, what am I supposed to do with this?”
‘Who knows?’ Mordred replied, not projecting his voice anymore, ‘By the way, I suggest my lady jumps to the right now’
I followed his instructions and a metal tail came flying out from where I’d been seating. I stared at it wide eyed.
‘Oh? It’s mutated’ Mordred spoke fondly.
The tail retreated back into the ground.
“Stop acting like a spectator and help!” I chided
“But, I can’t come out because I’ll put Your Majesty in danger” Mordred said flatly.
“I am already in danger” I shrieked as I ran away. ‘He could be freakishly annoying’
I sighed and stopped running. Then I closed my eyes and my ears twitched, “Information” I muttered
‘Poisonous tail. 10 times the size of a regular scorpion, really agile, live under the sand, feat on anything with blood. Are blind and use sound for direction’
“How nice of you” I scoffed.
'But this would count as my first battle...or first kill without memories' I thought.
‘Hey Mordred’ I called out inwardly, ‘What would you rank this thing?’
‘Rank? Hmm… a rank 2 warrior’
‘Oh? So it’s weak’
‘Yes’
I smirked and charged at the tail. Then I realized I had no weapon. “Tch” I clicked my tongue and summon two ice shards. Immediately I felt a bit drained, ‘To think Mordred summoned twelve…’ I hit the tail with good force and found myself flying back from the collision.
“Wha---“
‘I did say it was mutated’ Mordred said.
“You---!”
‘It probably ate a newly born iron golem. Its tail is now iron. Use fire instead’ He instructed.
I grumbled and my hand was enveloped with purple energy before turning into blazing fire and I jumped forward.

A man sat on a golden throne clad in red and black robe. His chin rested on his hand as he listened to a man in a white overcoat ramble . His eyes were closed and he seemed bored. Suddenly his eyes flew open and darted around the room. His eyes were beautifully hazel and seemed to tear through people. At the opening of his eyes, fear was etched into the faces of many around and eerie silence filled the air.

He glanced from one end to the other before narrowing his eyes and asking, “She’s dead, isn’t she?”
No answer came. They probabably didn't know what he was talking about. He slouched backwards into the golden throne with his auburn hair moving with him and glanced at the man in the overcoat.
“Kill him” were the next words that flowed out of his mouth in a frosty tone.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
‘I thought you said it was weak!’ I screamed as I spat blood out of my mouth.
‘Yes. But you asked me so I judged by my standard’
‘Mordred’
‘Yes?’
‘You’re an idiot’
‘M-My Lady’ he stuttered
‘The biggest one I have ever seen’ I continued and with a huff made my hands blaze once again. Whenever I heated its tail it would whack me and dive back into the sand. I needed a way to get it out.
I closed my eyes and waited before hearing movement in the sand, ‘I thought you said I was a rank 5 warlock’
‘Yes, but you don’t know how to use spells well nor mana management so in essence you are just like a mere mage’
‘BUT you also said that I was a rank 52 fighter. So I should be stronger than this scorpion right?’
The tail revealed itself and I skidded away before grabbing it with the wind and pulling it out. It was fighting to retreat back but I wouldn’t let it. After a minute of push and pull, I finally won and it came flying out of the ground.
'My Lady, could it be… no I never told you about the ranks did I?’
‘Nope, not at all’ I admitted
Mordred sighed, ‘Sorry, that was stupid of me. A gladiator is the greatest one could be called based on using ki. A Sorcerer is the greatest on could be called when using magic. You infuse ki to fight but My lady’s knowledge on that is near to nonexistent’
‘Shut up’ I pouted and pounced on the desert scorpion frying it. “Hmph” I scoffed satisfied.
‘Oh? You defeated it’
‘Of course’ I beat my chest and sat down but inwardly I was shaking. Had my attention been taken away for even a second more I’d be dead. It was about to poison me. I wasn’t sure if the poison was lethal or not but it’s poison and poison should be avoided.
‘Continue what you were saying’ I urged Mordred.
‘Oh right,’ he acknowledged and continued, ‘Gladiators > Combatants > Warrior > fighters. In summary, you are at the base of the chart’
‘This guy…. He’s out rightly belittling me’ I sulked. I would say something but I feel like there was an unsaid reason for his belittling.
‘As for mana and energy force, energy force cannot be used at your level. It is too wild. To use mana, energy force has to be converted and some people cannot convert energy force as they don't have a mana channel so they rely on just ki. Using mana hierarchy is Sorcerer> Warlock> Magus> Mage’
‘Oh? Then what is an Immortal or craven?’
‘Well, those are… actually my lady say these words, ‘Guide the powers of darkness to shield me, Mana Shield'
‘Ok?’ I asked thoughfully. That sounded ominous. I obeyed nonetheless and said the words aloud. Something covered me and although invisible I knew it was there. After saying the words ,I fell to the ground.
‘Hmm’ Mordred said thoughtfully, ‘Your mana pool is being restricted for some reason. Maybe your memories?’
“What are you talking about? Actually, what did you make me do?”
“Hmm?” he projected his voice, “I made you cast a spell and although your mana pool should be that of a 5th rank Warlock, the residual mana in your body was used to power it. odd.”
“Tell me that before I do it” I chided, “What does the spell do?”
“Prevents those scorpions from noticing you”
“Ah, that is useful”
“Right?” Mordred replied obviously pleased with himself.
I chuckled, “Tell me about the ranks later actually. I am very sleepy”
Mordred made no reply and I drifted off into sleep.
In the air above Welch, Venoth, a blurry shape sped across the skies. All one could see was a white blur.
“Hehe~ I want to see her regain her memories. So fun….wait, if she regains her memories, my life…” the voice was saying from the skay before a ‘hmph’ was heard and speed of the blur went up a bit more.
%%%%%%%
Red light shot into the sky leaving a dent in the ground below. Actually it was not a light but a red cape and a gleam from stainless steel reflecting the light of the moon could be seen . The light moved faster and looked like a blur hovering over the vast garden of Memphis and going past it towards the general direction of Venoth and Edira.
Sry for the tardiness~ but I got an A!!!
Anyways, although you might the confused but in the 'Memory lapse' arc, the readers will know everything...well almost everything.
