Jared's loitering gets interrupted when someone impacts him from behind, knocking him over,(CAN'T A MAN THINK IN PEACE ANYMORE!)
Looking up from the ground, Jared spotted the three little kids from earlier running past as fast as they can.
The one who had so rudely knocked him over was in the lead. The culprit was a youth around twelve years old, and all of them were carrying plastic bags full of something,
(...I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that they didn't pay for that, I must be a pretty amazing detective!... then again, the shouting coming from the store is somewhat of a giveaway... still, I sherlock Jared has a nice ring to it! Or maybe it doesn't...)
Two plains clothes store security burst out the store! Once outside they each threw a Pokeball towards the fleeing children!
By this time the knocked-over loiterer had already gotten himself off the ground, and like the other busybodies decided to watch the show unfold.
The two pokeballs opened to reveal a red dog with a dark white mane.
Jared quickly identified it to be a Growlithe. The other was a Black dog with strange bone plates on its head and back.
"This... must be a Houndour?" Jared muttered unsurely.
The men ordered their respective pokemon to attack, and soon two of the eight-year-old-thieves were pinned to the ground. They were savagely mauled on their arms and legs by the two pokemon. Blood and flesh were torn, while the two young children screamed in agony.
"Wait... what is this..." Jared watched in abject shock, as he took a few unconscious steps forward.
The snouts of the two pokemon quickly became bloody, but they didn't let up until they noticed the children go limp like a dropped ragdoll.
The two men had ignored the downed thieves, and they continued to chase after the others, but the thieves seemed to be the better runners of the two, or perhaps they just didn't feel like chasing them any longer, because soon the two men were back, and commanded their pokemon to return.
Jared quivers out some words, "They went way too far, oh god, there is so much blood..." Jared unconsciously took steps towards the kids, but he was soon blocked by the two guards.
"Get back, we got this situation handled!"
The man didn't seem to hear them, (...Oh god no, the blood keeps coming out, why isn't it stopping, no no no no!!!!)
Emotions running high, he tried to push his way past the two men. He wanted to help the children in some way, but the two men held him back.

"Get back, this is your last warning!"
Jared relented, and he dropped to his knees with gasping breaths. He has had emotional meltdowns before, and they tended to make it hard for him to breathe.
"Why, why did I do nothing? No I I, if I ran in to save the thieves, wouldn't I get mauled too?"
Three minutes later, a car pulls up.
The kneeling man looked away, and then he spotted two officers hop out of the vehicles.
They were faces he recognizes!
The baldy named Brian, and his associate had arrived on the scene!
The officers walk up to the two security guards.
Brian was about to speak, but he stops when he notices the two pools of blood. He moves to check on the kids, while the other officer stood back to question the two guards.
Jared watches as Brians associate questions the two for a few minutes, while periodically looking over at the two dying eight year olds.
(No... They need to help them or they are going to die!)
A minute later a silent ambulance pulls up. A man and a woman hop out the back of the van with stretchers. They pull the children's lifeless bodies onto the stretchers one at a time. With haste, they load the kids into the ambulance.
Before they could leave, the bald officer hopped in the back as well. The Silent van immediately finally off, and then Brians's partner gets in the car and takes off as well.
The two handlers, at this point, had since returned to the store, they glared with annoyance at the kneeling man.
It all happened in only ten minutes. The only evidence remaining that the event ever happened was two pools of blood drying on the concrete.
"Huh...?"
(...Those guards may have caused the death of two kids, why they aren't going to be arrested? They are free to go back to their job?? These two had their pokemon tear those kids up, and a few words are good enough?)
Jared's head begins to spin, "Are they not going to be punished, is this kind of behavior normal here???"
.
Just then a well-dressed elderly couple walked past the two pools of blood, chatting. The words that come out of the elderly man's mouth make Jared's mind go dark,
"Tsk tsk, It's a pity to see children that young on their own and get hurt so badly, but I suppose that's what happens when you turn to a life of crime."
He doesn't know when he finally left the scene, but Jared's expression was unnaturally twisted.
"How is this allowed!!!!" Jared whispered with violent intensity.

(...In what world can someone brutalize two little kids and get away with it!!!)
(...AND... What do those two elderly weasels know? Morality is EASY when you are living well, ISN'T IT? HUH?! EVEN IF YOU CALL THEM A GROUP OF CRIMINALS, THEY WERE ONLY KIDS!)
Jared's memories began to bubble forth as his emotions climbed higher and higher.
(...YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT PEOPLE LIKE THEM, OR PEOPLE LIKE ME GO THROUGH, SO HOW DARE YOU JUDGE THEM?)
Jared recalls his experiences from long ago, (...When you are starving on the streets, YEAH, the shady gang member in ragged clothes with a gaunt figure down the street of your neighborhood is no longer something you fear, and instead, you yearn to be apart of any group that promises to alleviate your pain.)
(Yes! Joining such a group of people in the same situation as you are in suddenly starts to feel like a good idea, especially when you are starving, and exposed to the elements, YES! suddenly such a group might seem more like a savior.)
"No..." he mumbled
(Not a savior, a life preserver, yes... anything ... anything... anything to keep your starving self from drowning in the hunger and cold during the freezing and lonely nights as you beg or scavenge for scraps.)
(...The passers-by are not your salvation. These people do nothing! They only think of avoiding eye contact with you as they walk past. At most briefly pitying you without intending to do anything.)
(...You start to think to yourself, and constantly ask yourself questions like, IF it's MORALLY right for others to watch me die here, then isn't it morally right if I do anything I can within my power to live? and even if I have to harm someone in the process is that NOT okay? after all, aren't you harming me by doing nothing?)
(...Yes, perhaps this is the same reasoning as to why people joined factions like team rocket back in the anime, and the reason why people back on earth become radicalized and twisted.... Perhaps... perhaps it all begins as a group of unwanted people gathering together for safety. None else cares so they can only care for each other. Maybe, they eventually band together, becoming more organized and ruthless.)
(Those kids had the same eyes as me. They are eyes that someone as kind as Kukui could never have, no... no... that's wrong, I see that now, it's not because he can't, but because he's lived safely and happily unlike those two dying children today.)
Jared shook his head, as he whispered again, "But is that his fault? He's not to blame and lashing out at my savior in my mind, and cursing him in my thoughts is something I thought myself above, so why am i doing it?"
Stand in front of the door of his home Jared punched it as hard as he could.
With his eyes shut, some tears force their way from his eyes.
Anger, Grief, Disbelief.
He turned the key and walked inside.
Locking the door behind him. He lays himself on the hard mattress then cradles his legs.
(...I'm a neurotic sort, and I know that if I keep up these destructive thoughts it's going to tear my mind apart. I know that as soon as I wake up in the morning I'll be back to my old self, but for now, I can't stop myself from feeling this way. I hate this feeling, but wishing for something to change doesn't mean it will.)
With tears of regret staining his mattress, Jared falls asleep an hour later. His tortured mind on the verge of collapse finally finds rest.
At Christia's Office.
Brian shouts, "Those two kids are dead Christa, are we really going to let those two murderers get off scot-free, what are people going to think?"
Christa scoffs "I'm already going to have their pokemon confiscated for this, what more can I do? It was well within their right to chase down those thieves, and accidents happen. As far as I know, they never ordered their pokemon to kill, so this is already the best I can do"
Brian retorts with a growl "Are you sure it's not because the owner of Alola Bargain Mart is a "Friend" of yours and helped "campaign" for your position as chief of police, and in return, you cut them some slack. It would look bad on his company if he has two of his employees arrested for murder wouldn't it?"
Christa's frown deepens, and her aged face twists, "You've been working here for ten years Brian, and you've done good work. It would be a shame to see you go for insubordination, so I suggest you keep your wild theories to yourself"
Walking behind an unmoving Brian, Christa growls. "If you speak one more word on this then I'll have you hand me your resignation letter. You have a wife and two kid's at home yourself, can you really afford to lose your income right now? If not, shut up and get out of my office"
