《ARC》Book 1 Chapter 105 Love Overcomes Death

Armour belonging to Craig and serpent guards continued to glow red-hot as their shape deflated like a balloon. Three pools of metal were all that was left of the first guards killed. Noah felt indifferent about the deaths he had caused. He was becoming numb to killing, seeing it as a task that needed to be done.
"Damn it! Raise the Titan!" Sophie shouted as ash rained down to blanket the floor.
Sophie dragged Su by her hair through the ash to return to Ronan's throne as Su attempted to resist. Leaving behind a trail and footprints on the floor. The inferno had been unable to near the steps after one of the ability crystals flared with lifeforce, activating an unknown barrier ability.
Suddenly, a whip made of fire lashed against the barrier with a resounding crack as it broke through the fading barrier to strike Sophie's arm. She abruptly released her grip on Su's hair with a cry of pain. There was a smouldering line trailing down her arm where the [Fire Whip] had made contact. Sophie clutched at the wound muttering curses as she backed up the steps of the throne to Ronan's side. Her eyes never left the origin of the sudden attack. Su was trembling, slumped on the steps. Tears were trailing down her soot-covered cheeks as the barrier reappeared in front of her.
Through the shroud of ash, Noah could see radiant green-lifeforce. The ash cleared to reveal the charred form of Mister Kim's fruit tree. The branches had been burned away, leaving only the ruined trunk behind. Green-lifeforce moved through the exposed vascular system of the tree leading to the face of Mister Kim. The face was contorted in rage and pain as it screamed silently. The eyes emitted intense green light as the number of fire whips multiplied, sprouting in place of the tree's missing branches.

Flames scattered through the air as the whips began their enraged bombardment of the barrier. Su stood, pressing her small frame against the isolated interior of the barrier. Su's cries could be heard through the muzzle on her face from across the room. Another crystal on the throne began to glow, causing the intensity of the attacks to be reduced until the [Fire Whips] disappeared. The face of Mister Kim on the tree returned to blank indifference as Su slumped to the floor in defeat.
"See that, you little bitch? Your Grandpa can't do anything to save you!" Sophie shouted as she savagely gripped the girl's chin to turn her head toward the tree.
Something moved behind Noah. He shifted his attention to the pit beside him. An enormous hand reached out of the hole to crush the molten armour of the serpent guards. A grunt of irritation was heard as a giant face appeared above the rim. Angry eyes passed over Noah to rest on Ronan seated on the throne. They softened as they focused on Josh standing untouched amid the ash. The giant pulled itself from the pit to gently wipe a tear from Josh's handsome face with a finger larger than his torso.
「My love, don't cry. You know ugly it makes you.亅 the giant spoke with tenderness.
"Alex… I knew you were still alive. Wait, you spoke, how?" Josh asked.
Josh was clutching Alex's massive finger as if afraid that it would disappear. He used the back of his sleeve to wipe the tears and snot from his face.
"How touching. I'm almost sorry to break up your reunion. Too bad that your snivelling is ruining my mood. If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. Craig was useless, as always," Ronin interrupted.

Ronan shifted in his throne, reaching to grip the strange chained weapon draped over the side. He grabbed the arm of the throne, causing it to groan in protest, splintering under his hand as he stood. The strange barbed harpoon weapon clanged down the steps as Ronan uncoiled its chain. He stretched to his full height, dwarfing Noah in comparison, yet barely only reached the knee of the colossal naked form of Alex.
Noah looked down at his hand. He held the orange ability crystal belonging to Craig in his palm. He had instinctively caught it with one of his ethereal arms after reducing Craig to ash. Noah placed it inside his [Zero-Space Dimension Ring]. Using this break in the fight caused by Alex's entry, to look at a set of double doors leaving the throne room.
"Josh, I need you and Alex to keep him busy for me!" Noah shouted as he began to run toward the doors.
"Don't worry, we can do that," Josh replied.
A mysterious purple trident symbol appeared between Josh's brows as he activated one of the Poseidon idol's abilities. There was a thunderous boom as a trident formed of lightning manifested in his hand. Josh reached up with his free hand to remove the loose scarf which had shrouded his face, tossing it into the pit. It silently fluttered away in the wind to disappear down the chasm. Alex stood up from his crouched position to stand beside his husband.
The last thing Noah saw of their confrontation through the doorway was Josh gripping the [Storm Trident] with both hands as he began to charge at Sophie restraining Su. The floor vibrated as Alex stomped down at Ronan's armoured form. Ronan dodged in a roll to the side, sweeping the barbed harpoon to wrap around one of Alex's ankles as he raised his foot to stomp again. The harpoon looped the chain as Ronan hauled on it with all of his mighty strength. Noah stumbled as the vibration from Alex's colossal body slammed the doors shut behind him, cutting off his view of the battle.
Noah could still hear the muffled sounds of the battle as he diverted his attention to the ornamentally armoured fallen navigator in front of him. It was the same yellow-plumed man he had seen steering the Fallen Citadel on their arrival. He was blocking Noah's path to the steering wheel with a sword drawn. Something was revealed on the horizon behind the man as the sky became illuminated by fiery daylight, causing Noah to frown in confusion.

No fixed releases for now, nor any future plans. I’m just trying to enjoy my time writing it. Btw, the cover is something random I did and has absolutely nothing to do with anything. Don’t ask me why.

Everything is mostly fine until one day, in the depths of the woods, they stumble across a two hundred year-old monk and a living, breathing — or, rather, snoring — dragon who need their help.
