The fishing trawler's deck was partially submerged. The seawater had reached the top of the stairs. Noah looked up at the oarsmen that had climbed the mast and sat in trepidation atop the makeshift huts. A few of the oarsmen led by Greg attempted to climb the otherwise off-limits cabin to escape the rising water. As Noah watched the group ascend, Greg's foot lost purchase as he slipped on the wet surface. Greg caught the edge of the cabin roof with one hand as he twisted awkwardly to slam into the wall. He let out a cry while his companions lunged to catch his wrist before he lost grip.

While Greg dangled haplessly, a massive wave buffeted the fishing boat from two gigantic crocodiles slamming into the fishing trawler while leaping from the water. They fought to be the one to devour the unfortunate man who had become bait amid the crocodile-infested waters. Noah prepared his spear to splash across the ankle-deep water of the deck. Roger intercepted him with a hand on his chest while gesturing towards the group above Greg.

"You cannot help them, fishbait. The man's only hope is in his awakening. Look," Roger wrestled briefly with Noah before getting him to listen.

A jaw had opened behind the fishing trawler. It was large to a terrifying degree. Each tooth was bigger than the oarsmen who were scrambling to escape the maw's range. The man holding onto Greg's wrist screamed an incomprehensible warning to him before diving into the ocean. The pair of crocodiles abandoned their fight to flee as they became aware of the colossal mouth crashing down onto the sinking boat. Ignoring the oarsmen beside them in the water.

Yellow-lifeforce could be seen pulsing through the crocodile's gums as the teeth clamped closed. It was only now that Greg realized the danger he was in, too late to escape with his companions. The bottom row of teeth had risen from the water carrying the fishing trawler upwards in a flood of water bursting from the damaged hull. There was a flash of blue light a moment before the teeth clamped together before Greg disappeared from sight. The oarsmen clinging to the mast atop the makeshift huts were thrown sprawling across the deck. Noah steadied himself by stabbing his spear into the lurching deck.

"His fate is his own, as is ours. We must go!" Roger yelled at Noah.

Roger secured his mouse, Basil, into the handmade felt bag slung over his shoulder before diving into the water, ignoring the giant crocodiles escaping the path of the grade-three or higher monster. The monster was so large that it wasn't swimming in the shallow waves. It stood steadily with waves breaking against its scales as it waited patiently in ambush. Its yellow-lifeforce was visible at all times. Noah didn't know how it wasn't detected earlier.

As Noah stood undecided on what he should do, his [Battle Instinct] activated to warn him of a threat descending from above. He dived to the side before rolling to his feet. He heard a splash and a grunt of impact from someone heavily landing where he had been a moment before. The silhouette straightened with red-lifeforce moving beneath their skin to reveal that it was Zane, the white guard who had attempted to ambush him. He had dislocated a shoulder that repaired itself under Noah's grim gaze.

"..., Fishbait," Zane spoke in a threatening manner in a language Noah didn't understand as he advanced menacingly toward him.

"I guess you're tired of living after all," Noah loosened his shoulders, displaying his six spirit arms behind his back.

Zane hesitated as he saw the contemptuous expression on Noah's face as his gaze met Noah's glowing eyes. It lasted only a second before his hesitation was replaced with false bravado. A forced grin appeared on Zane's face as he entered a crouch with his hands open into claws while cautiously approaching Noah. Noah glanced over the guard's shoulder to look at the colossal crocodile's teeth, which were opening behind him. Zane noticed his gaze and glanced over his shoulder.

Noah took the opportunity to charge towards the white guard, thrusting his spear through his heart. Red-lifeforce gathered at the wound as Noah stumbled backward, tripping onto the ground as he was stunned by his decisiveness. The spear was still lodged in place through Zane's chest as he clutched it in an attempt to pull it free. Blood gurgled from his mouth as fear entered his eyes when he couldn't remove the spear piercing his heart. A shadow dropped from above to knock the guard into a heap on the deck.

The boss pinned Zane in a shoulder lock with his arm behind his back. He pulled a dagger from a sheath at his hip, plunging it into the struggling guard's neck. The boss quickly dug a glowing red ability origin crystal from the guard's skull. The guard's red-lifeforce suddenly ceased with his crystal's removal. The lifeless corpse slumped limply to the deck as the boss wrenched the spear from where it emerged from Zane's torso. The boss barked a command at Noah as he hauled him to his feet and thrust the spear into his hands, then pointed toward the shore. The boss gave Noah a shove in the beach's direction as he warily faced the colossal crocodile retreating into the water.

The boat was caught on a sandbar and couldn't go any further. The survivors had to swim the remaining distance. It was only Noah and the boss tarrying on the fishing trawler. Blue-lifeforce appeared between the monster's teeth as clear water ran into the ankle-deep water on the deck. The blue glow spread into a pool of light that began to rise of its own accord, taking the form of a man. As the blue-lifeforce faded, the water silhouette revealed itself as Greg.

"What? How are you still alive?!" Noah caught the exhausted Greg before he collapsed.

"I awakened an ability called [Water Form]. It lets me become water," Greg responded through ragged breaths.

Greg was completely nude. Apparently, the ability didn't extend to his clothing. It was a miracle that he escaped the jaws of death. The next challenge they would need to face was the treacherous swim to the beach. The boss called something as he became alert. A trio of giant crocodiles slowly climbed onto the shipwrecked fishing trawler. Cutting off the group's escape as the monsters' colossal leader mysteriously retreated into the ocean to wait.
