《Red Road》Chapter 15 - I surrender!

Of course, Elder Pavong didn’t think thank another possibility is that Kiron has the blood of a Divine Beast inside him.
“I’m not sure where my strength comes from. All I know is that I’ve had this strength ever since I was born.” Kiron couldn’t tell him that his strength came from absorbing the Dragon God’s blood, converting his blood into that of a Golden Dragon.
Elder Pavong stared at Kiron for a couple of seconds, but he decided to drop the matter. He just considered himself lucky, having found someone extraordinary!
Jin stood up from his seat, “It’s my time to fight now!” Jin walked towards the stage as he spoke.
He walked up to the stage and saw his opponent, someone at the 6th rank of the Profound Practitioner Realm. His opponent’s name was Umte, and he belonged to the Black Turtle Sect.
“Begin fight!”
Both contestants immediately started running forward, meeting each other at the center. They raised their fists and started exchanging blows, blocking, dodging and hitting.
There was finally a match that wasn’t a complete one sided victory, in most matches so far, it was someone off the 6th rank against someone at the 5th rank, so the matches didn’t last long.
But now, it seems like Jin and Umte are evenly matched.
… Meanwhile
“Elder Ronai, I’ll have you know Kiron is already a member of the Burning Phoenix Sect… And you know what that means?” Elder Pavong had walked up to Elder Ronai.
Elder Ronai’s face went pale. He hadn’t forgotten the agreement between the 2 sects. If the Black Turtle Sect were to beat the Burning Phoenix Sect in the finals, then the Burning Phoenix Sect would have to give a High Ranked Core and an interspatial ring to the winner… Same goes for the Black Turtle Sect.
“Of course I haven’t forgotten our agreement! We of the Black Turtle Sect would never break off a promise. Even if we lose, we’ll still have our honor.” Elder Ronai tried his best to make it seem like he wasn’t affected at all, but truthfully, he was angry.
“Winner is… Umte!”
Jin had fallen off the stage as they fought. During the fight, he had positioned himself near the edge of the stage, hoping to push Umte off… But his plan had backfired.
“Hahaha, seems like my disciple won!” Elder Ronai forgot all about Kiron for a second. Elder Pavong smiled at Elder Ronai, “Yes, but is he able to beat Kiron in a fight?” He said while trying his hardest to not laugh.

Elder Ronai’s face suddenly turned dark once again, and he didn’t say a single word.
“Next fight, Kiron versus Adleer!”
Kiron looked at Jin, “That’s unfortunate. The match could’ve gone either way!” Kiron tried comforting Jin as he walked up to the stage.
But when he got there, all he could see was Adleer standing there with his hand raised, “I surrender!”
“Well then… We’ll start the final match in 5 minutes!” The announcer was just as shocked as the crowd was. Well, it was somewhat understandable. After the previous match, who would possibly want to fight with Kiron?
… Kiron won the battle before it started.
Kiron walked off the stage with a stunned expression on his face. Even if he won, it still didn’t feel right. He walked up to Robin and Douglas, whose faces had already gone red from laughing, “Haha Kiron that must’ve been your hardest fight so far!” Douglas started teasing Kiron.
The boys started chatting while waiting for the final match to start.
…
“The final match! Kiron versus Umte! Please step up on the stage!”
Kiron stepped up onto the stage, but he couldn’t see Umte anywhere. Kiron looked towards the spot where the Black Turtle Sect were sitting. He could see Umte and Elder Ronai talking about something.
“Elder Ronai, please, I don’t want to fight him!” Umte had a scared expression on his face. “Don’t talk like that! Even if he is stronger than you, it will be a good learning experience!” Elder Ronai pushed Umte, and finally managed to convince him to walk up to the stage.
But to his surprise, the moment Umte arrived at the stage, he raised his hand “I surrender!”
… The announcer stared at the scene, “Well then… The winner is Kiron!”
The crowd started booing, “Little boy, do you have no honor?” They were ridiculing Umte as he walked off the stage.
Kiron was about to walk off the stage, “Kiron, do you belong to any sects or clans?” A mysterious voice arrived behind him. Kiron turned around and saw a man wearing a suit.
“I am a member of the Burning Phoenix Sect! Also, may I ask who you are, sir?” Kiron looked at the mysterious man with a curious expression on his face. He hadn’t noticed this man’s presence at all, but he’s guessing that this man is at the Profound Spirit Realm.

“I am the Governor of this city.” The Governor then turned around and looked at all the spectators, “I have the pleasure of declaring Kiron of the Burning Phoenix Sect this tournaments winner!”
The crowd started cheering wildly, “Kiron! Kiron! Kiron!”
“And on behalf of the agreement between the Burning Phoenix Sect and the Black Turtle Sect, I’d like to invite Elder Ronai to come up on stage!” The Governor pointed towards Elder Ronai as he spoke.
Elder Ronai got up from his seat and jumped up to the stage. “Here is the prize, just like we agreed on.” Elder Ronai took an interspatial ring and a High Ranked Core out of his interspatial ring and handed them to Kiron.
Kiron accepted the treasures. He immediately poured some of his World Qi into the interspatial ring, binding it to himself. He then stored the High Ranked Core inside the interspatial ring, “Thank you, Elder Ronai.”
“Then, the tournament is officially over! Thank you all for coming to watch!” The Governor said as he bowed his head slightly.
The Governor then turned his head towards Kiron, “Come to the weaponry and pick out your weapon!” He said as he started walking towards the weaponry that is located near his mansion.
…
They arrived at the weaponry. It was now time for Kiron to pick out a weapon he likes.
Kiron looked around for a while before asking, “Sir, do you have any colossal heavy swords here?” Kiron looked at the Governor with a look of suspense in his eyes. Was this his opportunity at getting a colossal heavy sword?
“A colossal heavy sword? For a sword to gain that title, it’ll need to weigh at least 1,500kg.” The Governor continued, “The heaviest weapon we have here is that greatsword over there, which weighs 70kg.” The governor walked up to the wall and picked out the greatsword hanging there.
“But, it’s a bad sword. Not only does it weigh a lot, it’s also bad quality steel. Its steel is only meant to make materials, such as frying pans and cooking pots.” The Governor continued, “If you were to bring that into battle, it would break fast.” The Governor didn’t want to see Kiron pick a low quality sword, when there were tons of weapons to choose from.
Kiron took the greatsword into his hands, “I’ve already decided that I want to fight using a colossal heavy sword. Even if there are better weapons than this greatsword in here, it wouldn’t matter.” Kiron continued, “I just want to get used to fighting with heavy swords! So even if this greatsword won’t last long, it will still serve as great practice!”
The Governor looked at Kiron as he put the greatsword into his interspatial ring, “Haha, very well then! I wish you the best of luck in your future!”
Kiron and the Governor left the weaponry and went their separate ways.
…
Kiron was told by Douglas to meet him, Robin and Elder Pavong over at the hotel once he received his prize.
“Ah Kiron, you’re here.” Elder Pavong said with a kind voice. “I’m guessing you two want to go back to your city and tell your parents that you’re joining the Burning Phoenix Sect?”
Kiron nodded, “That’s correct. Is it possible to give me 3 or 4 days to say goodbye? I still have some things I need to do back in Norica!” Kiron then looked at Robin, “And I’m sure Robin has something to do as well!”
Robin nodded.
“Very well. Is one week enough? I’ll ask some of the older sect members to meet you here whenever you feel ready to leave for the Burning Phoenix Sect.”
Both Kiron and Robin nodded, “One week is enough! Then, we’ll be back in this city in one week.”
Elder Pavong smiled in agreement, “Then I’ll have someone waiting for you near the entrance of the city in one week.”
Kiron and Robin left the hotel and walked towards the city gates, “Robin, wait here for a bit. I’m going to exchange the golden bars for some silver and golden coins!”
Robin looked at Kiron with a hint of curiosity in his eyes, “Why would you do that? You can easily do that once we’re at the Burning Phoenix Sect!”
“Yes, but I’m planning on give the gold to my mother. That way she can retire early!” Kiron was going to leave home for a long time, so he couldn’t be around to help his mother. But if he were to give her enough money to buy a house and live a comfortable life, then he wouldn’t have to worry as much.

Forewarning regarding the start of the story. This story contains graphic descriptions of violence. The first few chapters of the book focus mostly on characters experiences and state of mind. The protagonist doesn't start off as a hero, he's distressed, confused, scared and struggling for survival. LitRPG elements are sprinkled throughout these chapters but aren't initially at the forefront of the story. If you're willing to persevere, the LitRPG elements and significant progression become more heavily intertwined with the story as they become more relevant. Thank you. *** What to expect *** This is a Fantasy Adventure LitRPG. There’s gore, swearing, bad jokes and lots of struggling. (I like to make the character earn his power.)Book 1: Covers the characters' experiences in becoming accustomed to this new reality. There are chapters that focus on survival and hardship. He starts with literally nothing, gradually he accumulates incredible power. He achieves his power through completing various trials and encounters in his journey to find out who he is, and what he wants in this world. There’s a focus on the mental state of the protagonist and an alternating pace of writing to allow character development to occur. The planned second book will kick off at a much faster pace with more action, focus on the system, and delving into the purposes of the Grand trial assigned to the main protagonist.I aim to deliver a world with Interesting characters, Monsters, Magic, Epic battles, Levelling, System interaction, Skill creation, Trials (Quests), Dungeons, Training and more. *** Release ****Chapters will be around 2000-3000+ words long, averaging 2.5k.
