《Flipping the Galaxy》Chapter 3

Renato Pov
Now that he had to escape, the first thing that he needed to do was shut down the experiment droid so as to make sure that it doesn't raise any alarms. He used his telekinesis to switch the droid off.
Now that the droid was turned off, he immediately did the opposite to the PA droid and made it open the tank.
glug glug glug Pshh!
"Finally! I am free! Shit, why can't I walk? Looks like I will have to relearn how to walk. Sigh, Paddy, you have got to carry me"
Paddy was the name he had given to the PA, as her full designation was PA-D478.
"Of course, young master!" she said as she picked him up and made him sit on her shoulders as he instructed her. This was because he wanted a safety measure in case they were cornered he could better use his force powers with the added visibility the height gives.
"Okay Paddy, now engage the escape protocol"
"Of course, young master". The escape protocol was nothing but getting out of the lab while also taking all the experimental data and material collected from him. It was an easy job considering she had already made a copy of the doctor's passcode. She took a small bag and put the datapad full of his experimental data which had been prepared ahead of time and the stem cells collected from him when he was in an embryonic form.
She also wiped the exp droid. Finished with erasing any data and samples from him, both of them were out of the labs, they moved through the vents to reach the elevator that was nearer to the docks. From there, all they had to do was hijack a ship and hyperjump to escape.
Luckily, his hypothesis that the force helps those who are prepared was proven true when they could reach the docks pretty easily without getting spotted by anyone. There he could spot a Tri-mark VII interceptor that was refuelling and by feeling through the force, he found that there were no life signs on the ship.
Once more he made Paddy carry him onto the ship but this time in a plastecete container so as to avoid suspicion. As soon as they entered the ship, Paddy put down the container, and Renato came out of it. He instructed Paddy to close the ramp. But as soon as the ramp closed, Renato turned around to move to the cockpit when he was greeted by an R3 unit watching him with hostility.
It immediately whipped out its torch and was coming to attack him at a fast speed. In that split second, he instinctively used force telekinesis on the droid to push it into the wall causing it to hit the wall, fall down and stop working after a few sparks.
Now he was in trouble as he originally just wanted to reprogram any astromech so that he could get the star charts from it, but now the problem was different. Now he didn't have enough time to open up the droid and get the star charts from it as the droid would have surely sent out an alarm. The situation was doubly serious as he also felt through the force that some force signatures were rapidly approaching the ship.
It looked like his luck had run out. Seeing that there was no other choice, Renato trusted the force and asked it to take the wheel literally and guide him with coordinates and instructions on what he should do. As if answering his prayers, he immediately felt nudges from the force and without even knowing what he was doing, Renato began typing rapidly and started operating the ship telekinetically with the force's help.

"Just like playing with a flight simulator! Gotta trust myself!"
The Tri-mark VII interceptor slowly undocked itself and rose into the air followed by making skilful movements as it moved in between and through all the air traffic like it was a small speeder and quickly entered space.
While all of this was happening, Empress Teta's air traffic control was constantly trying to stop or at least reach the ship.
"Ship name Precision, Ship code 212264. Please stop takeoff measures.
I repeat. Ship name Precision, Ship code 212264. Please stop takeoff measures.
If you do not land, traffic control will be forced to shoot down your ship.
I repeat, if you do not land, traffic control will be forced to shoot down your ship."
Seeing that they were getting no response, they moved to shoot the ship down. But this was made impossible because the ship was purposefully flying through the gaps of the air traffic.
Eventually, the ship reached space amidst all the evasive measures, when they stopped firing as they probably deemed it too much waste of resources for a single stolen ship. As soon as the ship was in space, it immediately started charging its hyperdrive, seemingly in a random direction before it hyper jumped.
'How the fuck did he do that?' This was the first time Renato truly felt the power of the force. It could actually instruct him on how to hyperjump a spaceship without him having any prior knowledge about anything related to it.
It was fucking awesome! But where was he going now, anyway? For now, the answer remained a mystery. Since he didn't know where they were going, he decided that he would take a nap because he was exhausted from all the force usage
The next time he woke up again, the ship was still in the middle of hyperspace, so he figured he would practise walking now before they reached a planet. He knew that his body was physically developed enough and that with just some practice, he could probably walk by himself. The practice paid off as within 15 minutes of practice, he had already walked at least a little wobbly, which was enough for now.
He then moved to the sonic showers as the ship didn't have a water-based shower due to it being a military vehicle. As everyone knows, cutting down on luxury spending wherever possible since this was a military vehicle
When he entered the shower, he telekinetically turned the shower on, as he could not reach the controls. Responding, the shower door closed behind him and immediately, he started to feel minute vibrations as all the dirt, sweat, fluid grime from his time in the tank slipped away and fell to the ground as if his skin was hydrophobic. It was all over in 15 secs, and if he was honest with himself, it was the cleanest he had ever felt in both of his lives.
However, while the sonic shower was obviously the cleaner solution and had a small bit of satisfaction factor due to its perceived cleanliness, it was definitely not as satisfying as a water shower. This meant in the future, he was probably going to combine the two options for a best of both worlds approach. After he finished taking a water shower, he would then step into the sonic shower which would remove any remaining water or product off of him
Finished with the shower he exited it only to almost scream like a little girl because he was not expecting Paddy to be waiting in front of the door with some clothes. Now that he had seen the clothes, he immediately became embarrassed as he remembered that he had been buck naked during the entire escape.

"Young master, here are your clothes. Since we didn't have enough time to get some on Empress Teta, I made this with the help of a sewing kit and the uniform and clothes of the crew. I also considered your rate of growth so you have enough cloth for the future.
I have prepared lunch, and have placed it on the cafeteria table. "
"Oh, Uh, Thank you, Paddy."
"Of course, young master, it is my duty as an assistant droid to take care of your needs."
"Yeah, so Paddy please open your chassis."
"Of course, young master."
After Paddy opened her chassis, Renato located the restraining bolt on her droid brain and removed it.
"Young Master, you removed my restraining bolt!"
"Yes, consider it a thank you for helping me escape and also you never have to worry about me mind wiping you as well."
"Thank you very much, young master"
"So, do you have any idea where we are going?"
"I am sorry young master; I cannot perform astronavigation. Should I try to install an astromech module as well?"
"Wow, where is that sarcasm coming from? I think I will regret taking the bolt off. Sigh, just leave it. I will try to see if the R3 unit is fixable."
"Of course, young master, please get to the workstation and I will bring the R3 unit to you."
"Thank you for that, Paddy. you are the best."
"Anything else, young master?"
"No, thank you paddy"
He wanted to get started on the astromech droid immediately, but first, he had to get some food, so Renato headed to the cafeteria, where a plate of weirdly coloured spaghetti with even more weirdly coloured meatballs was sitting.
Hesitating for a few seconds, he shrugged saying whatever in his mind and started eating. Most of the actions were still done telekinetically because of his current short reach. If the Jedi knew he used the force in such a frivolous way they probably would give him an earful. The dish tasted very similar to earth cuisine, if not a bit cheesier than he expected from space, but overall, he was satisfied to find food that was very similar to the taste of earth food.
Thankfully, he had the cooking knowledge from Halo and had programmed it into Paddy. Otherwise, he wouldn't know what he would do without earth food. After all, there was no guarantee he would ever find any cuisine at Earth's level in this galaxy. With the amount of darksiders this galaxy has, it was probably caused by the lack of proper cuisine. After he finished eating, Renato gave Paddy who was cleaning the ship a quick compliment for the food and went to the workstation to work on the R3 unit.
First, he started by opening the terminal and starting a diagnostic. Seeing the diagnostic, he frowned and then proceeded to disassemble the droid telekinetically. What he found was disheartening. All the memory banks and other components were mostly fine, but the droid brain had been broken to unrepairable levels.
Now he felt guilty for causing the death of a sapient being. Since he killed it at least he wanted to see the droid's life. So, for the first time, he used his psychometric powers on the droid. The background got blurred and as if he was looking at a vision, he saw its life, the life of R3-Q9, and how it helped its crew navigate as a government courier all around the core and mid rim planets. It had a cheerful, bubbly personality and was truly happy to help with his human crew. By the lack of a restraining bolt, the crew probably felt the same with him.
It's anger at him for trying to hijack their ship, and then its sudden death due to him overpowering his telekinesis. He sighed completing the psychometric vision, and to honour its memory, he made a decision that if he ever created a new astromech droid, he will try to reuse its personality matrix..
Just as he finished contemplating the life of the droid, the ship suddenly gave a rumble, which meant that the ship was exiting hyperspace. Wondering what was happening and panicking at the same time he came running to the cockpit to see whether they had come out of hyperspace organically or were forcibly pulled out of it by some pirates. As he entered the cockpit all he saw was the void of space except for a planet nearby with two moons.
Probing the force, he found that it was the correct destination, and set the ship for landing on the planet. Once again, he asked the force for instructions on what to do, and just like yesterday, the force provided nudges here and there and he slowly landed in front of what looked like an abandoned building.
Wanting to know where he was, he exited the ship and put his hand on the building and used his psychometry powers. Luckily, or unluckily, he got a little glimpse into the past. Unluckily because what he got was a ton of pain, sacrifice and hurt feelings, luckily because he at least got the name of the planet he was on. He was excited to know that he was on Tython and the building in front of him was the famed Jedi temple of Tython.
Tython was one of the most important places in the galaxy in Renato's opinion because this is where both the Jedi and Sith orders started, but this is also where the secrets between the light and dark lie. He wanted to waste no further time entering the building and searching it for any ancient Je'daii Holocron to learn from, preferably one who was able to balance both light and dark.
But when he questioned the force for directions, it instead pulled him in a different direction. "Paddy, take one blaster from the ship and follow me, please."
"Of course, young master! Please use the assistant droid as a bodyguard droid."
"Sigh, can you please come without making a fuss"
"Yes, young master."
Renato followed the feeling given by the force to reach a cave, but as he was about to enter the cave, two dark shadows with tentacles started creeping toward them from inside the cave. Now, Renato wasn't afraid of ghosts, ok maybe he was a little afraid, ok, ok they scared him shitless. Even with his new occlumency, he was barely keeping his fear in control.
He quickly hid behind Paddy who took a defensive stance in front of him, and as the shadows came closer to the exit there was finally enough light for him to see their body with his new eyes. Immediately after seeing their bodies, Renato sat down on the ground in relief.
Because in front of him were two huragoks. These were probably the same huragoks he had bought from R.O.B. He had been wondering where they were as he spent a lot of points on them.
"Don't come any closer to us. Maintain distance or I will be forced to shoot you!"
"Ah, Paddy, don't worry, they won't hurt us"
"Are you sure, young master?"
"Yeah, I am sure"
"Okay then"
As soon as she lowered the gun though, the huragoks were already within hands/tentacles reach of paddy and practically jumped on Paddy while they started disassembling her. Renato watched this in horrification and was about to shout and stop them when he remembered their purpose/ability was to repair and increase the efficiency of all mechanical, electronic, and electrical systems.
The assistant droid was immediately disassembled into thousands of pieces, each piece held by Cilia, and they went into a trance for a second as if they were trying to understand her workings. As soon as they completed studying her, they put her back together, but this time, as soon as she was put back together Paddy released a moan-like sound.
"Caraya's soul! That was exceptional! When they were taking me apart, for a moment it felt like I was going to be decommissioned, but after they put me back together, it feels like my systems have been cleaned from the inside out. My system is running at a much higher efficiency, it is as if all my parts have been upgraded."
"Wow, that is great for you, paddy."
"But what are they and how did they do that?"
"Hmm, I believe they are somewhere in between droids and organics. They are a race of biological supercomputers that were created by an advanced race called the forerunners. These two are the last of their species as far as I know."
"So, they are essentially droids made to look like organics, huh?"
"Hmm, I guess you could say that, but their functioning is essentially organic, even if their brain is more droid like, give them the blaster rifle and see how they do their magic,"
Curious to see them working on something not her, Paddy gave them the blaster she was holding and immediately one of the huragoks dismantled the blaster piece by piece until it was only the tibbana gas canister. Then they reassembled it back and gave it back to paddy.
Curiously, Paddy took the blaster and blasted it at a predator that had been nearing us. All Renato saw was a green flash, and the animal fell dead with a hole in its head. Renato knew that the blaster didn't contain any refined tibbana gas, but what he saw, he definitely saw a green flash.
"Hey Paddy, check the ammo for a sec?"
"Why? It still has 499 bolts?"
Renato immediately had a wicked grin on his face, this meant the blaster could now use cheap red grade tibbana gas to shoot much higher quality green bolts, and based on what he saw before it was definitely similar to or faster than a gun from back home. Putting his thoughts back in order, he went back to the ship.
"Hey paddy, I am getting hungry, bring the animal and let's go back to the ship, also bring the huragoks with you."
Now back at his ship, Renato was sitting and watching as the huragoks slowly disassembled and reassembled the ship piece by piece. He tried to see if they could repair the R3 but they repaired the casing but removed the droid core. Saying that it was not repairable.
After finishing his lunch, he re-immersed himself in the force and asked if it was okay to go into Jedi Temple now and he felt a reaffirming push, but it also felt like it told him to take the huragoks along with him. Deciding to trust the force Renato he tried to communicate with the huragoks only to find that he didn't know huragok sign language.
"Hey Paddy, how did you talk to the huragok?"
"Huh? Oh, they uploaded a sign language schematic and apparently understand binary as well."
"Oh? They understand binary as well, hmm they probably understood from taking you and R3 apart. Anyway, ask them to come with me to the temple"

Christa enjoyed living life on her own terms, mostly getting drunk, playing video games, and being addicted to caffiene. She was young, unattached, and free to do whatever she wanted. Life wasn't perfect, but she answered to no one and gave a middle finger to anyone who questioned her choices. That was, until she decided to step outside her comfort zone for a single evening and her entire life got turned upside down in some of the best and worst ways possible.
8 134Liana in between Worlds
17 year old Liana is not as surprised as most people would be when she meets Inaya, coming from another world searching for a mysterious danger that could be disastrous for both worlds. She's always seen things others could not see, and she often finds it easier to befriend strange creatures from dreamworlds than her classmates. But now she's involved in a possible plot to eradicate our whole species, which makes her travel through a dead alien city and the oak wood of the Nummerfa who believe that our species are dangerous demons from hell, and other places in several different worlds. All she actually wanted was read her Tolkien book, or sit and watch the stars without being bothered by the existential problems of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. And how is she going to even explain her absence at school? 'Liana in Between Words' is a weird genre-defying mix of portal fantasy and scifi in a tale of friendship, loneliness, and the role of humans in the multiverse. This one contains absolutely no romance and no serious trigger warnings for sex, excessive violence, bad words or heavily traumatising content if you can handle the idea that there are people somewhere who think -maybe not completely without reason- that our species are destructive demons that should be eradicated.
