《The Farmer》Chapter 25

Ever since the departure of Jack, Bob couldn’t stop worrying. He spends most of his time staring at the horizon, looking for an ashen colored wolf to deliver him a piece of parchment. Most days he would be doing his morning routine, taking small breaks before spending most of it the entire day. While every swing makes him look at the distance. On times that the letters do arrive he savors every word he could read from it.
Every letter is kept in his room. Sometimes he takes it to the barn at night and tell stories to them of what Jack’s adventure brings.
Day 1
It is almost sundown when I arrive at the borders of the peninsula. Judging it unwise to ride Agta beyond the border, I walk the rest of the journey till I reach the small fishing village marked on the map. Han Wood is very quiet, or maybe it’s already dark, so I’m not sure. I will continue to observe some more and give a more detailed report tomorrow.
P.S. The letters need to be sent much later than anticipated for a more detailed report.
Day 2
I spent the night outside the village, observing them from afar. Before first light, I moved closer to observe them more. There are now activities that I haven’t seen them do since last night. Concealing my presence, I moved closer till I am in the village and I have seen some things that you have describe albeit slightly different. The docks are less saturated with fishermen. The villagers spend most of their days standing in different places around the village. Despite the heat, they seem to love being under the sun.
There was a point of time today that I might have been discovered but they didn’t seem to mind at all. I have tried conversing with some of the villagers and they talk back to me with different expressions, some are smiling, some looks exhausted, others with reproach. But I have notice similarities between them. They speak in patterns. Each villager responds differently to my questions but it’s always the same thing. I will continue to observe them for another day before heading out to Rootwing

Day 3
Last night I continued to observe the villagers. Their behavior remains the same. I have tried knocking on their doors in attempt at a conversation but they don’t answer. I have tried on all the houses. Repeating the same route, I tried to enter their houses and it surprised me that they are remained unlock. Observing them from inside their house, they didn’t seem to mind. I have also learned that they do not sleep.
I am not neglecting Agta at all. But he does feeds himself all alone without my help. I do let him rest whenever he’s not delivering any parchment. The further we head inland the more rest he would require.
Around noon we departed from Hanwood and went straight to Rootwing. On the way we encounter peculiar creatures on the side of the road. Fairly large in stature like yours, and faces with tusk. But they run to the forest upon seeing us.
A few more hours into the journey and we have finally arrived. It is as you say, bigger than Hanwood. I am yet to make a conclusion from what I can see for now, therefore I digress.
Day 4
For the report of Rootwing, it is still incomplete. But I have written information that might be of use to you.
The entirety of Rootwing is 3 times bigger than Hanwood. The similarities I have found between the two are the townspeople. They speak in almost the same pattern, repeating the same phrases in a loop. They also have the same habit of wandering inside the town. Their doors remain unlock except for a few. I have also tried mapping their route inside the town but it is still incomplete. It might shed some light on what is happening.
P.S. The long journeys and every day letters are taking a toll on Agta and presumably Atga. I will still send my report but not over 3 days.

Day 7
I have been abridging my letters to fit inside the parchment. I am still in Rootwing, I have found that there is much to learn here. As you have guessed it, they have a library. Besides consuming information from the books, I have mapped the townspeople’s movement. They are all random, and I have concluded that there’s nothing much to it.
I have omitted from my earlier letters of the discovery I have learned back in Hanwood. Trading. I deemed it unnecessary at the time since I carried no currency with me. But here in Rootwing, there are places where you trade specific materials and they will give something else in return.
I have traded my leather cloak. In return I received a set of clothes. Quite inferior to the ones you have created for me but matches the coat and the cloak you used on your journey.
Experimenting with some others things. Agta and I went to the nearby woods and hunted some deer. Every material that could be obtained from it was bought at a decent price.
I will tarry a little longer in this place before proceeding to Laylon.
Day 10
I have departed from Rootwing a day before. Only the villagers are peculiar. The buildings and the surrounding place from what you have informed me, is normal.
There is one exception to the environment. There are those creatures whom you refer to as monsters. Not inside the villages but on the road. But they hide whenever they see Agta. I have tried to encounter them alone and they attack me immediately.
I have not yet arrived at Laylon. The encounter with the monsters piqued my interest and my somewhat interest yours. After a few more encounters as I actively seek them. I learned from myself that I can communicate with them. Must be another function of the core.
Currently, I am residing with them in a small settlement in the forest between Rootwing and Laylon.
They are more “alive” than the villagers of Hanwood and the townsfolk of Rootwing. They have communication and expresses emotions much so than the people. It has also come to my knowledge that they are different from me; that they didn’t get obtain their sentience the same time as mine or around the same time as the adventurers came, but long before that.

New chapter every other day Iain Compton never planned to be abducted by an alien spaceship. It just… happened. His plan is to find a way home to Earth, even if its unlikely to be remotely the same; to find a better class of companions among an often strange and inexplicable galactic community, at least one who won’t use him or sell him out at the first opportunity; and to do something about the parasites in his brain who are supposed to connect him to a library the size of the galaxy, but seem to only be telling him that almost everyone and everything he comes across wants to kill him. The Crisis on Planet 9
Welcome to the dream colony Planet 9, where the streets are stained by blood and the buildings are filled with human remains. The creatures roaming among the abandoned cars and flying vehicles resemble almost to perfection the mindless cannibalistic zombies born from the fictional nightmares of mankind. The cities were built in the retro style of the 21st century, but the technology of the 24th century is ever present, mostly within the bodies of those mortally challenged monstrosities. After all, what turned them into these things was not an evolved organic virus, an alien disease, or some sort of magical artifact, it was the corrupted and reprogrammed nanobots within their bodies. Originally, they were meant to heal them and help them access the tech around them, but now they were the origin of this disaster. Among the rotting dead and the Nano-Z, as the survivors called them, Kardian Pandora awakens two months after getting bit by one of them. A young teacher at the local Resonance High, foolish and naive in his own way, but now driven by the Sapient AI in the nanobots inside his body to hunt down other Nano-Z and learn how to survive. For now, his only goal is to become strong enough and rejoin his students and fellow colleagues, foolishly hoping to somehow be able to get back to the time when the undead did not rule the streets. Will Kardian be able to survive in this new savage world or will his naive outlook lead him to a dead end? Volume 1 can be bought on Amazon: Resonance High
