《The Farmer》Chapter 6

Bob recounts his encounter with DaBest. He couldn’t get his mind off of the things that he witnesses while he was with him. They talk about a lot of things that night to which the young man gladly answered to the best of his abilities. Talks about the secret between his mystical burlap sack that could contain large amount items despite its size. Another topic that was discussed was about the magic that he used to make the well. Something about the water and earth element and instructing them to do as he pleases.
Amazement fills his mind when the young man describes it to him. He couldn’t fully understand it, made it more the reason for him to be amazed. Levels were also discussed but he couldn’t get his mind around it and just focused to what he could understand.
“I’ll surely miss that lad.” Bob sat down the chair and watches as the sun sets on the continent.
Besides him are the two wolves that DaBest left him to him. The one is ashen and the other is dark as a coal. He chuckles to himself as he pat the ashen one on the head.
“He even scolded me of naming you Atga.” He smiles on the ashen furred pup.
“Agta here fits his name perfectly” He turns to the other one.
His mind returns to the few moments before DaBest left. They were arguing on what to name the cubs. He went ahead to name his cub which he though was fitting and “cool”.
“I’ll call him Genesis!” DaBest shouted while holding the cub above his head, to which it barks back like it’s happy of the name he receives.
Bob looks at him with a confused face. ‘Really? That’s what you’re going to name him?’ He thought to himself.

“It’s cool right?”
“Whatever you say.”
“What are you going to call them?”
“This white one is a girl and the other is a boy. So, I’ll call him Agta and her Atga.”
DaBest looks at Bob with a disappointment. He puts his hand over his head as if he couldn’t believe the name that got to his mind.
“Can’t you think of something better?” He asks begrudgingly.
“I think it fits them.” Bob his hand to his waist as if showing off how great he is.
“You had a chicken named Susan!” He shouted.
“Hey! Don’t bring her into this. She was a special case. Besides it looks like they like it.” Bob pointed at the two cubs rolling over the grass and barking at him while wagging their tails.
Bob laughs again of the experience that only happened a few hours ago. The animals are already returning to the barn so he decided to milk the cows again. As he was walking towards the barn, he notices that the cubs are just following him wherever he goes. He lets them be for the moment and even set aside a pan where they could drink some of the milk that he would collect that night.
It didn’t cross his mind that they would even follow him inside the house.
“No! I sleep here, you sleep outside.” Bob tries his best in explaining how it works around the farm.
The cubs lay on the floor and looks up to him. A little jolt pricks his heart as he looks at the pleading cubs.
‘What kind of monster could refuse that.’ He thought to himself while being pulled in by the pleading eyes of the cubs to which he sooner gives in as he thought it hopeless to fight it.

The next day he is eager for the arrival of Bara. It is usually around the same time he comes around and buys Bob’s fruits of labor.
It was like any other day for Bob when they first met. Bara caught news of a farmer setting his place up on the peninsula where only rangers go. Those same rangers spread anything that they see in the place which is not much. Far from any monsters but far from civilization as well. No one would willingly live there unless they want to cut all ties from anyone.
Bara thought it funny if he visits the place and gets chased out. So, one day he did visit the place with his carriage. He saw a hard-working farmer living on the farthest hill of the peninsula. Back then it was only a small field. The barn is already there as it is the first thing that Bob builds when he got there. He sleeps next to the barn animals as if he is one of them. It wouldn’t surprised Bara if this man couldn’t speak any human language at all.
Being a merchant, Bara is able to see the quality of the products around the farm. The thought of just observing flees from him and tris to make business with the man. The man in return will receive 2 pieces of gold coins regardless of the amount and quality that he can provide Bara. Anything else that he can provide that are not grown from the field or plucked from the trees will be discuss further for pricing.
Back to the present where Bob is waiting by the shed. The cubs are waiting with him, but more like playing right next to him. It is almost first light and Bara hasn’t arrived yet. Something must have happened on the way here or the city. It is not the first time he didn’t arrive at first light. Bob shrugs his shoulders and just let the animals out.
‘Not like anything will change if he doesn’t arrive. He probably has something on his plate at the moment.’
After clearing the field and inspecting some of the fences, the cubs started barking at a distance. Their faces are towards the continent. It might be Bara. The cubs wouldn’t know him and he is exited for him to meet them. But instead of seeing a mule-drawn wagon at the direction that he is expecting him, he saw a young man walking towards him.
He is wearing the same type of outfit DaBest was wearing, with the exception of two short sword cross together at his back. Running then walking after quite some time and running again. Jumping around and swinging the sword as if some monsters are hiding in the air. Then he saw him rolling around and swinging his sword after getting back up.
“Ah, another adventurer.”
Bob is very eager to meet this young man after his great experience with DaBest.
