《R.A.M.》Hiatus Notice.

Alright. I need to address this. This is going nowhere and it has become a vicious self-hating purgatory. So let’s address this problem. Yes, I have not released any R.A.M. chapters for a long while. ‘Long’ is describing it lightly. To those who enjoyed reading the series, if there is any who would tolerate such atrocious release schedules, thank you so much. I am sorry for this disappointing performance. I truly want to continue this series, which is why this has dragged on for so long.
If you are looking for an explanation for this shitty schedule, to put it simply, it is an issue about time and the story itself. Think of it as a perfect storm of situations that create this creative purgatory I’ve become a resident to. To explain a bit further, I have various chores, jobs and obligations that take up my daily life. These are evenly spread throughout the day with small pockets of free time in between. Factoring in the travel time and work time, some of these take a few hours and the free times always amounts to an hour or two. With these pockets of one or two hours throughout the day, there should be plenty of time to write a story, right? Not exactly. Some of these jobs are tiring and require roughly a half hour of rest. If I am not resting, that half hour would be put into getting ready for the next job. Now have this ridiculous schedule every single day. You can see that there doesn't seem to be any time for some thinking and writing.Perfect storm, amirite?
Then there’s the matter of R.A.M. itself. It is a pretty ambitious story. Thus, I have to spend some time getting into the right mindset to begin writing. And if you pay attention to the chapters, you can see where my writing turns into horrendous patchwork. Character consistency, plot consistency, everything consistency. I try to juggle these to avoid any plot holes or gaps in character in the story. However, I have a nasty habit of writing myself into a corner and struggling to get out of it takes a lot of time and thinking. Pretty impossible with the daily schedule I have. Still, I persisted. I have planned great setups for future chapters but it won't matter if I'm stuck in a chapter that precedes it. I wanted to keep going but life ain't budging at all. And this is why this dragged on and on as it did.

But I’ve come to the decision. Enough is enough. I’m putting R.A.M. on hiatus. Trying to squeeze out chapters in my situation will just destroy the quality of the story. From chapter 10 onwards, the chapter feels less like a story and more like a campfire story told by someone struggling to remember the details. It feels depressing to accept it, but if I keep going, this purgatory will continue and the story will deteriorate even more. When times become less hectic and I find the time and motivation, I will continue this story. So what is the plan now? For now, I’ll try to retrain my writing and releasing short stories that are more manageable. No guarantee if the release schedule will be improved though.
So that’s it. If you are a reader, I apologize for this pathetic performance. R.A.M. will return but when is a difficult question. Thank you for reading. I sincerely hope you will come around again when R.A.M. returns.
