Chapter 16 - Nether Devouring Flower (4)

...
'Immortal Body Holy Scripture' is indeed truly superior to the human race's Body Strengthening Technique. Or it could also be interpreted as the new and refined version of the Body Strengthening Technique...
Just by reaching the first stage of 'Immortal Body Holy Scripture', it would grant the practitioner the strength of ten thousand tonnes, that is akin to having the power to lift a ten million kilogram object! Not only that, if one continues to open the hidden stages of the 'Immortal Body Holy Stage', then that said practitioner would reach unimaginable body strength in the future!
However, the prerequisite for all of these is to temper the practitioner's blood marrow into the Heavenly Blue Marrow. The Heavenly Blue Marrow Tempering isn't just some fancy words to be used, it is an extremely painful and exorbitant process.
Replacing a bone marrow is no joke. You would have to somehow crack open your bones, deep enough to reach the bone marrow inside of it. Cracking a few bones won't really be a torturous experience for cultivators, it's extremely common for them to the point where it's terrifying for normal people. However, to temper a bone marrow, much less in a leisure pace, would produce a grinding or tingling sensation all over your body. It's not much different from using a hammer to carefully but painfully to smash your bone.
Since it is done by the practitioner himself, with no external help whatsoever, it would be extremely uncomfortable and it might lead to unwanted accidents.
Let's say that there are treasures capable of assisting a practitioner to temper their own bone marrows in a much-hurried pace. But the problem lies on where to find them. Techniques that require a cultivator to temper their blood marrow are almost non-existent, at least in this continent.
So for the 'Immortal Body Holy Scripture' to require the practitioner to transform their blood marrow first was truly a great shock for Arthur, he has never heard from others or read any technique as anomalous as this one.

After completing the Heavenly Blue Marrow Tempering, the cultivator's blood would now carry Genesis Energy within them. And as we all know it, the blood carries nutrients and such to the body. If Genesis Energy is added on top of that, then there would be numerous advantages to it!
In Arthur's opinion, however, the enormous strength and defense it would give to the cultivator's body would be the most advantageous benefit.
Also, if the cultivator reaches the Meridian Opening Stage, the body would be able to suck Genesis Energy continuously from the outside world, thus, the blood would have an endless supply of Genesis Energy without needing to take it from the practitioner's own.
So in the most simplistic way possible of explaining, it is the massive improvement of the human body's circulatory system and the human body itself.
After reading this much, Arthur's eyes blazed intensely with fervor even more.
He didn't really care about the pain it would give the cultivator in the process. All he cared about was the massive strength, amplified recovery ability, and massive strength! If someone had the ability to peek inside Arthur's head, they would undoubtedly be thinking of the same words coterminously... a strength-fiend.
Arthur is not the typical dumb clod who witlessly seek strength for absolutely no reason at all. He is sensible, astute and sometimes scheming, but some of these qualities did not have the slightest bit of a chance to be performed. The reason for that is obvious, he's lacking the pillar to back all of these aspects... strength.
He lacked strength.
Everything that has to be done with certainty needs to be accompanied by strength. Struggling in vain would not do you any good, it'd only put you in a greater precarious situation which would contradict what you wanted in the first place.
Arthur was aware of this up to the beginning. Since he was weak, he had no choice but to act like one, lest he gets more trouble that would be difficult to handle. A man would rather die than be subservient; but, a wise man would swallow his pride to seek revenge. To let yourself get killed without reprisal is not anything but a coward, those who are truly dignified will abstain until they get a heart, for an eye. Looking at his devious grinning face right now, it seems that he is actually serious about making those who offended him eat their own eyeballs.

(AUTHOR'S NOTE: Okay, you might have to burn a few brain cells in this paragraph. I swear I wasn't sounding to be profound or anything)
Arthur left his own sea of consciousness. The 'Immortal Body Holy Scripture' was truly a big surprise for him. It sounded too casual that he thought it was some kind of a prank.
Sable God's Movement Technique, Holy Flame Undergird, Sacred Vermillion Manual, and lastly, Immortal Body Holy Scripture, the geniuses in the city didn't even have the privilege to borrow two Low-grade Earth-rank cultivation techniques, however, Arthur actually has four of them! And the Immortal Body Holy Scripture could possibly be even higher!
Once again, Arthur felt a deep sense of gratitude towards the Item Spirit who granted him these. Now, he can't even wait until the day he departs for 'Divine World' that the Item Spirit spoke of.
Arthur slowly opened his eyes. The first thing he'd do tomorrow is to inform Heina and Darriel that he would scout the area around the farmland first before dealing with the beasts surrounding it, his inference is telling him that something important might be happening there. Also, ever since he entered the village, he has been getting an unfamiliar gaze on him either intentionally or unintentionally, Arthur might also tell them about it, although he didn't feel any malicious intentions, its best to be cautious since it might be a high-level flying beast roaming around the village. Given their cultivation levels, they should have also sensed it, however, in the case that they didn't, reminding them will be taking no sweat at all, being prepared won't do any harm to anyone.
........
Bai Fuah is currently inside Heina's room. The space and decorations inside were identical to Arthur's, a slightly damaged wooden chair in the corner of the room which is currently where he was sitting, his left hand supporting his chin, beside him is a silky white bed laying a soundlessly sleeping Heina.
When he asked Heina who the boy was accompanying them, he gasped with incredulity.
He can't believe that the useless inept scion from the Vermillion Family is the same youngster as the one from earlier, the boy who gained enlightenment!
He had no grudge nor ill intentions towards Arthur Vermillion, however, the distinction between the two is too large to think of the same person.
'Was he deliberately hiding his talent?'. This thought popped into Bai Fuah's mind. However, he immediately rejected this idea. The Vermillion Family is gradually declining. If such a talent appears within them, they would spend whatever they have in their pockets to nurture him as fast as possible. Thus, his cultivation level would soar to new heights, but Arthur is only at the Vigor Stage of the Body Strengthening Realm. It's too slow of a cultivation speed to be labeled as a genius who gained enlightenment.
No matter what the reason is, he would report this to the City Mayor as soon as he returns to the city. He would surely be delighted to have a disciple capable of being granted with insights by the heavens. This might be the Vermillion Family's solitary rope to climb on to escape their inevitable fate.
It will also be favorable for him to have a close relationship with Arthur.
"Even if he's a genius, killing those Superior Body Stage beasts might be too difficult for him with his Vigor Stage cultivation... I must protect him with all I've got!"

Author's Note:
I apologize for not uploading a chapter last week, had so many things to do at school and stuff. I've also polished the plot for this arc so I only have to write in the future and not wander off, pondering, while I write.
