Chapter 5
Kuro’s POV
“Hmmm, hngh, hnnnnnnnnngh!”
“Wahahahahaha, what are you doing foolish boy? You gonna give that flower to the snow girl or something? Look, you’ve upset little Shiko now.”
“Quiet old man! I’m trying to see If I can use the Will of Lucifer on all manner of living things and would you two stop sipping at my demonic energy like it’s tea! You’re not even training!”
“Wahahahahaha, now now foolish boy, we are just bored, you’ve been sitting there holding a number of different things for the last few days now, what do you need the Will of Lucifer for anyways? With my power, you won’t need anything else.”
“Seir told me that he had heard rumours that the first born son of the Bael house can use the Will of Lucifer to control other Devils too. If this is true, I need to make sure that my power at least matches his, so that it won’t be the deciding factor in the fight.”
“Oho, another interesting youngster has popped up. I wonder if another devil has managed to get a Dragon King or Queen as a familiar in preparation for this summit?”
“Huh? There are others with the same status as you old man?”
“Wahahahahaha, you didn’t think I was the only one did you foolish boy? I may be the strongest but I am lord of the northern skies, it only makes sense for one of my kin to rule over the skies of the south, west and east.”
“Ah OK, we’ll deal with that if and when it arises.”
“Wahahahahaha, don't underestimate my kin boy.”
“Hey old man, do you think I can do this?”
“Oh, why so serious all of a sudden boy?”

“Just answer my question!”
“No, I don’t think you can…”
“...I see.”
“Wahahahahahahahaha, Hahahahahahahahahahahaha (both)”
“I needed that old man! Right, let’s do this!”
I took leave from University and hauled myself in my families temples. Seir offered me some secret high end place or whatever to train but since I was going to be training in the realm of my familiars anyway, I thought it’d be easier to just do it in the comfort of my own home.
My skill using Shiko had started to improve greatly, fighting against the old man for hours on end was hard enough but with Shiko, at least I knew I could block or parry a swipe from his talons or tail if I couldn’t dodge it.
“Come on boy, you can do better than that! I have only been using 50% of my true power.”
“*pant *pant, stop lying old man, I know you’ve been using 52% since this morning!”
“Wahahahahaha, your senses have sharpened a little foolish boy, but for someone like you to make me have to use more than half of my power, it took Lucifer many years to make me this serious.”
“Enough about the past old man! Don’t expect me to sit around and wait for you to stop reminiscing before I start attacking!”
“Wahahahaha, that’s the way boy, let’s see if you can handle this!”
I started to notice a change in the realm that supposedly mirrored how I saw the world. There was another glowing tree, its leaves were pure white and it looked like it was steadily growing every day, although it felt as if it’s final form was not finalised. Plus, Seir’s one began shining so much that it was blinding to look at. Even Alice’s one was showing some change by beginning to show more and more colour.

It wasn’t as dark anymore, The atmosphere of the whole realm was changing, once I even saw my mum’s face in the Sakura tree smiling out of the corner of my eye, whether this was real or not, I will never know. But I did get a wack in the nose from the old man’s tail for letting my guard down for that split second.
With that time passed and the summit was only two weeks away.

Vast Asleep
The story of Kingard the Binder in the aftermath of Broken This short story is the epilogue of Broken, the second book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. It’s a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers but is set apart from the full-length narrative. Vast Asleep follows the story of Kingard, who finds himself caught in a world called Mother's realm, bathed in glowing light but strangely stuck in place. He encounters his greatson Varyan there, and learns that his experiences are likely dreams. As he grows more accustomed to the loving realm around him, Kingard remembers fear and trepidation about the face of the world, and he loses contact with his companion. This story answers the question, Is Kingard really dead? with a tentative no, and new mysteries brewing. It also raises the question, What's happening while he's awake? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Ride Awake, about Kingard's situation with the Colkh'rak. Praise for Tales of the Known World Bookends: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between the epilogue and prologue is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well. -- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★

World War Academy [DROPPED]
EDIT: Hello, as you can tell this story is dropped. reason why this is the case is that I really didn't know where I was going to take this story and really, I wasn't satisfied with how I was writing here. However I am currently writing a completely new story and with it is that I am taking some aspects from here and using the ideas on my new story. New characters, new ideas, new plot, everything is completely new. So I hope that goes well and i'll leave this story up as reference for me in the future. Thank you Akani Kizuato. An 18 year old that recently started to live on his own to get away from life. With his sister and father dead from the wars as they fought in, he tried to continue life and tried not to let it get in his way. It may seem that way but with his whole life planned out, it may not seem to be. He had been rejected from all universities within the nation despite being top of his class, which is very unusual because even local colleges rejected him. It was as if he was banned to go to any of those places but uknowingly why. As he ranted, and relieved stress on the school rooftop, he had received an email from an anonymous source saying that he was accepted into some academy, which he had never heard of before. With events that lead up to his mysterious encounter with people who are there to take him, it may be quite a ride. Cover art made in Adobe Spark.
