《The Quest To Devour All》Chapter 16 [Edited 18/12/19]

Currently, Tremis was jumping from tree to tree as he looked for possible targets. He had been doing this for the last 24 minutes with his {Infrared Vision} activated and hasn’t found anything that really catches his interest.
On his path of jumping from tree to tree, Tremis found some weak animals that served the purpose of being appetizers.
He found 7 Red-Furred Horned Hare, 1 Quartzite-Spiked Pythonidae, and 2 Callidus Sacrorum.
Red-Furred Horned Hare seems to be a very common species among the forest which partly makes sense since they are similar to the sex-crazy species known as rabbits. When he spotted them on the ground he would simply jump off the trees grab them by the neck and snap.
This Quartzite-Spiked Pythonidae slithered across the dirt. It was just a 25 ft long python with hundreds of needles among the top of it made out of the hard, metamorphic rock named Quartzite totaling to about 250+ lbs. He couldn’t see the 0.5 mm spikes on it that infrared couldn’t pick up so when he tried to pick up the snake at its head to crush it with one hand, dozens of needles made with stone went through his hand.
The needles ranged from the tips of his fingers to his wrist. The main veins in the hand which are the cephalic and basilic veins were struck. The same went for the radial and ulnar arteries.
Due to the multitude of sudden sharp pains in his right hand, Tremis screamed out and his grip on the snake didn't waver. As his hand slowly went cold from his blood vessels collapsing from the inflammation, he forced it to slide down more so he could get a grip on the python’s head.
He could feel some of the needles breaking off in his hand, tearing through his muscles and scratching against his bones. Only a little more until he could crush that snake’s head in.
Gotcha...
Tremis felt pressure on his palm so he guessed that he got the head of the snake. He wasn’t very sure since he couldn’t feel anything in his hand. His hands slowly wrapped around its head and caved it in.
A loud crack could be heard as the skull of the snake broke and the bone fragments pierced through its brain, killing it instantly.

Before Tremis devoured it, he made sure to carefully take out each stone so it doesn't get stuck inside of his hand. Carefully...just kidding. Tremis doesn't really understand the word ‘careful’.
He was quite used to the pain already because of Afif’s training and he knew he was going to get healed either way so whatever he had to experience didn't matter. Plus removing those needles would be like trying to remove the needles from the Gympie Gympie Leaf. Pure hell and a waste of time.
Tremis summoned his Falx from his left hand and cut down a nearby tree swiftly. As the relatively small tree slowly fell down and created a big crash in a pile of shrubs, Tremis made use of the trunk. He placed his Falx down for a moment and rolled back his suit arm so that it went back to his elbow. He picked the Falx back up as he laid his right hand on the trunk.
With his body tensing up knowing this would hurt like shit..he brought the Falx down. The middle blade landed in the middle of his forearm. Now, we must remember that Tremis is basically a compulsive idiot and that's why his hand didn't completely come off.
Instead, the blade merely went IN his arm and didn't cut it off. Because the pain didn't register yet, Tremis started hacking at the area of the cut that went through his forearm. Of course, he could feel his bones breaking off and all the other horrific shit.
What was left was an amputated arm. You could see the skin that was barely hanging on and it swayed with the wind. Blood spewed out from the bloody pulp. Tremis could see the radius and ulna sticking slightly out from the wound. Tremis started breathing heavily as the pain started to kick in.
Tremis hurried to the corpse of the snake and simply touched the caved-in head with one finger from his left hand. I didn't need to specify since he has only one working hand but whatever. The corpse turned jet black and was absorbed into his finger. As more and more of the corpse was devoured, more of his arm started to come back. When the corpse was all gone his arm was finally back. Almost as if it wasn’t hacked off from a psychotic maniac who just didn't want to be bothered.

You may be still wondering why this stupid fucker decided to cut off his fucking hand and risk dying just to not deal with taking out all the needles. First off, he is pretty unstable. Secondly, he is pretty stupid and kinda smart. He knew he was not going to die since he could make it in time to the corpse and he simply just wanted to take the fastest method since he really wanted to get that breakthrough.
Anyway, let's move on to the last 2 animals he devoured.
Quite anticlimactically, Callidus Sacrorum simply was a very large chameleon. The one Tremis found just so happened to be within the leaves and didn’t even know when its neck was snapped.
A much-appreciated downgrade from his last experience.

If wanted, the Host’s body will automatically change depending on his mood and temperature.]
When he had gotten the skill {Camouflage}, his being had changed to all the colors of the rainbow before they all settled back to what it was before.
After 30 minutes passed by, Tremis finally realized that animals stopped appearing around this area of the forest.
Just as he had finished thinking, he heard something. It sounded like heavy breathing, almost as if something big was walking by.
Hm?
“Gurag…” “Gurg..”
He looked around at the ground and he finally noticed it. A while ago he had deactivated {Infrared Vision} because he could barely find anything so he was just waiting until something caught his eye so no wonder he didn't notice.
Underneath him was a 9ft tall Ogre with a ragged loincloth around his crotch. Its fat stomach clearly showing itself. Although it had a fat belly, you could still see the impactful muscles all around its arms. Speaking of its arms, it was lumbering around a chipped Great Axe and on its left shoulder was a woman.
Anyone could tell that this Ogre had harshly beaten this woman from all the blood coming from her and her legs were broken to the point of no return. She seemed to have some armor on but it couldn’t even be called armor at that point. It was all broken and dyed red from the dried up blood. He could at least tell this wasn’t a guard. Her long hair also covered in dried up blood.
A typical Ogre..now as a famous Goblin Slayer once did..wait to see where it ends up..because they are always in packs.
To make sure he didn't lose the Ogre, Tremis activated his {Infrared Vision} and followed.
…
After an hour, the Ogre finally reached its destination.
In front of Tremis was the Goblin Camp.
Out front was the Ogre and next to him was a campfire. Among this campfire were 11 Goblins all eating a rabbit which were on a stick. There weren’t any trees around the camp within about 5 meters so Tremis was camouflaged into a nearby shrub.
The Ogre continue walking forward and entered the entrance to what seemed to be a giant cave. The cave was at least the size of the two-story building so the Ogre didn't have trouble entering.
Ahh, I feel like this has something to do with my breakthrough..Damn this feeling is like snorting cocaine and then smoking weed right after..pure euphoria..
This is gonna be a bit of a challenge..what to do..what to do.
