《To Deify a Deity》Chapter 25 - What use are pants

News spread of a wolf attacking a woman and someone had somehow implicated Lynefra. It really wasn't clear how Lynefra was involved despite someone having schemed against her but given her status as the current Dean's sister, Niece of the Emperor and technically a princess herself, no one really made too much of a fuss.

A few of the rowdy boys had demanded she do community service with them but there was a sufficient lack of evidence for even that. No wolf and no victim of said wolf attack, was there even really a wolf attack?

Lynefra, herself, was extremely confused. She felt as though the last couple months had been some kind of bizarre dream. Her personality once again, changed. Gone was the introverted and naive girl during Dolos' influence over her and she didn't revert back to her slightly insecure and confused self she was before. Lynefra felt happeier than she had ever been, and some unknown burden had been silently lifted. The frequent visits by her family the last two months made her realize how much they loved her. Traigar had long since learned of Lynefra's special circumstances and had told the rest of his immediate family. They had made it exceedingly clear that they didn't care whatsoever, to them, Lynefra was their daughter/sister and that was all that mattered.

The night of the attack had also been eye-opening for Traigar and Freyd especially. After the two foreign gods left, Syble and Lystall had been very keen on interrogating Bluwater thoroughly. Of the three gods remaining in the Botanical Garden (Lystall, Syble, and Kuzunoha), two of them had questions for the wolf child.

Before the questioning could start, Bluwater walked over to Traigar and bowed respectfully. "I had to leave all those years ago before I could offer gratitude for taking my elder sister and myself into your house."

"Why are you nak- what?" Traigar had intended to demand that Bluwater put some pants on but Bluwater's words took him by surprise.

"I don't remember taking a boy and girl into my house," Traigar stated.

"It must have been your household, your scent was everywhere," Bluwater replied thoughtfully. "My sister had been...forcefully taken in human form and I fought with her assailant, killing him but I was badly injured both in the fight and some time before because of other circumstances. I was unconscious for the majority of my stay but I remember your scent well."

Don't forget to mention how you've been stalking his daughter for her entire life, Kuzunoha chimed in.

Bluwater's face twitched, "I was ordered to do so by my father," he hastily explained, "and it wasn't stalking, it was protecting."

Traigar had stopped listening after Kuzunoha made her remark. "Put some pants on," he said gruffly.

"Why do I have to wear pants?" Bluwater questioned. "No one has told me to wear them in the last few years."

"My gods!" Traigar had exclaimed.

"What?" The gods replied. His choice of words amused them.

Traigar smiled ruefully, "Nothing. Boy!" He pointed at Bluwater, "were you raised by a pack of wolves?"

"..." An awkward silence followed Traigar's remark.

The man facepalmed again, "It's a figure of speech."

uhuhuhu, Kuzunoha chuckled as she waved her hands and a distrubing article of clothing appeared in them. Just put these on little wolf. When in human form, you must wear clothes.

I don't think assless chaps would be an improvement over nudity, Loki sighed as he re-appeared behind Syble with a wolf that made Bluwater look small.

This wolf had extreme disgust for gods and growled at Syble and Lystall. The wolf stood four meters (4m) tall at the shoulder and had a massive head. As he growled, his breath permeated the air, smelling of rotten flesh and blood. The entire wolf was a dark grey color and his eyes were slowly changing from amber to red and back again at the sight of the other gods.

Sorry about him, Loki said apologetically, he really doesn't like gods. Rough childhood.

The growling abruptly stopped as Fenrir's eyes met Bluwater's. The two wolves studied eachother quietly, neither backing down.

Loki, Kuzunoha called out in concern, when dogs and wolves have eyecontact like this, they're trying to establish dominance...it's like a challenge.

Oh relax, it'll be fine...I think, Loki replied after some thought.

Loki was right, Bluwater knew his strength was not enough to handle Fenrir and Fenrir was only curious about the wolf - it was not of his bloodline. It also didn't hurt that Loki had forbade Fenrir from attacking Bluwater (or any of the gods present) and since Fenrir could feel some kind of special connection to Lynefra, the thought of actually attacking the young wolf didn't cross his mind.

During the events of Ragnarok, most of the Norse Pantheon had been destroyed and Fenrir had eaten Odin. In retaliation for killing Odin, Fenrir was in turn hunted down and killed by Vidarr. Divinus had seen the complete destruction and captured the dying souls of the gods and mortals caught in the crossfire. After the destruction was complete, Divinus single handedly rebuilt the realms and formed new bodies for the Norse Gods - effectively undoing Ragnarok and thus starting his feud with the Fates.

Fenrir saw Divinis as his great benefactor, as did most of the Norse Gods. Divinus was one of the few beings that could rally all the gods together. Fenrir knew Divinis was no more but as opposed to most Gods, Fenrir still intended to repay the debt of gratitude even if there was only a small portion of Divinus in Lynefra. Divinus was, after all, the being who returned his life to him.

A pair of pants was thrown at Bluwater. "Wear these," Traigar ordered.

"Uh.." Bluwater groaned.

"Just put them on!" Traigar had taken his own pants off and lent them to Bluwater.

The entire group made their way back to Lynefra's dorm room as Traigar carried his sleeping daughter.

Walking around in his underwear seems perfectly natural to him.. Kuzunoha whispered to Syble as the two watched Traigar proudly greet every person they passed.

What's wrong with that? Syble replied.

"Hey!" Altresca's irritated voice greeted the group as they turned a corner. Someone had woken Altresca up in a panic, complaining about a group of people hauling an unconscious girl around while being half naked.

"Do you have to make my job harder?" Altresca sighed.

"Daughter," Traigar used his father tone, "would you go get your mother and brother? I have good news for them." Traigar winked as he nodded at Lynefra.

A group of eleven (11) people gathered in Lynefra's dorm room, the majority of them standing for there weren't enough seats. Loki took the initiative to explain when the rest of Lynefra's immediate family arrived.

Fenrir had taken human form before going back to Lynefra's room and the issues with the need for clothing started all over again.

After the ordeal with Dolos and the greek gods involved had been explained, and the joy of Lynefra's family had calmed slightly, the focus turned to Bluwater.

So why have you been tailing my Great Granddaughter for her entire life? Syble asked in a surprisingly respectful manor. The God knew it wasn't in his best interest to provoke the young wolf, especially with something like Fenrir present. Not only that, but the pack Bluwater came from was extremely powerful.

"Protecting.." Bluwater objected.

"Whatever," Traigar grumbled.

Freyd mirrored his father's attitude towards Bluwater. The young man was extremely protective of his sisters.

Altresca's mind was full of inappropriate scenes as her face turned slightly red. The woman had a thing for anything perceived to be even a slightly perverse romance and stalking had one of those perceptions. SHe felt slightly disappointed that Freyd wasn't the one being "stalked" by Bluwater. Boy's love was her favorite fantasy.

Cirwyn wasn't quite sure what to think. The wolf had apparently acted in Lynefra's defense initially and from the telling of events, it would seem as though if Bluwater had wanted to do something to Lynefra, her family would have been powerless to prevent it. SHe was also still slightly reeling from the news of Micah, aka Dolos, and how she had been deceived. It didn't help that Bluwater's amber gaze was also unnerving.

There was a soft knocking at the door. "Perhaps it would be better if I explained Bluwater's situation," a female voice said though the door.

The other one shows up, Kuzunoha smiled softly as she waved her fan discreetly in Bluwater's direction, fanning her scent towards him.

"Annoying fox," Bluwater mumbled.

Freyd opened the door and his jaw dropped. He recognized the girl before him, "It's you."

A girl about the same size as Altresca entered the room wearing a plain white dress. Her hair was the same shade of white as Bluwater's and her beauty could rival even Lystall's. The main draw to the girl's face, however, was the pair of large amber eyes.

The girl bowed to Freyd and then to Traigar.

"If you hadn't picked my brother and myself up from the road that day, we would have undoubtedly perished," The girl motioned to Bluwater, indicating that Bluwater was the brother she spoke of.

"Whytwater, you shouldn't be here," Bluwater said. He then snipped the air looking for a specific smell.

"Relax younger brother, Redsky isn't here. He would definitely kill you if he learned the real reason Father banished you from the pack," the girl identified as Whytwater replied with regret.

All eyes again fell on Bluwater.

"I think it's best to wait for the one known as Lynefra to wake before I explain," Whytwater added.
