It was evening and Chris was sitting on the sofa of his living room watching TV. One of the gorgeous maids had a snack made for him and served it at him.

{Maid1} '' Sir, I don't remember the last time I saw you watching something on TV, this is a very rare occasion. ''

{Chris} '' There is going to be an announcement today about the 10th anniversary or RoyalRoad. As you probably already know, I started playing not long ago and I try to stay updated. If I am not mistaken you play the game too right? You can watch with me if you like. ''

{Maid1} '' I would really like to sir, but there are a lot of things to be done before the day ends. I will be informed about any news later from friends. If you don't need me anything else I will take my leave and let you enjoy your snack. ''

{Chris} '' I am ok, you may go. Make sure to get informed later, a lot of interesting things are going to happen from now on. ''

As the maid took her leave the program Chris was waiting for started. He raised the volume a little and all of his attention turned to the announcer.

{Announcer} '' Good Evening my dear viewers! This is GRR (Global RoyalRoad) and today we have a special guest with us. Please welcome UNICORP's representative Mr. Richard Omens. Hello Mr. Omens! ''

{R.Omens} '' Hello Tania! I 've got to say it's an honor for me to be here. GRR is the undesputed No 1 program when it comes to programs dedicated to RoyalRoad. Thank you for having me. ''

{Tania} '' Thank you for you kind words Mr. Omens, we also are really excited here in GRR for what news you can share with us as a representative of the most succesful company ever existed. The 10th year anniversary of RoyalRoad is around the corner and the world can't wait for the new additions in the continent of Versailles , the new adventures, challenges and myths.''

{Mr.Omens} '' It is as you said Tania. In this year anniversary of RoyalRoad, like any other anniversary we will release a new patch. This patch however will be quite special since UNICORP wants to thank all the RoyalRoad players and fans for their continuous support which places this virtual world a step closer to perfection. So I guess I am going to start with the first of the many changes and additions of this new patch which you probably already expected. There will be a new level cap for the players and NPCs. The current level cap is set at level 900 as you already know. After the patch is applied the level cap is going to increase to 1200! ''

{Tania} '' 1200? There is an addition of 300 whole levels. As you said before we kind of expected a new level cap since the top players are very close to reaching it, but we never expected here in GRR that the level cap would increase by 300 levels. All our annalists said the cap would be 50 or 100 levels higher. ''

{Mr.Omens} '' That's why I said, it's a special update patch. New quests, monsters, cities, dungeons, equipments and skills for the next 300 levels are already made and tested. ''

{Tania} '' That's amazing news! We will make sure to talk more about this later but, for now let's move on to the next thing in the list. What else can you share with us? ''

{Mr.Omens} '' Well the next thing in the list are the ' World Bosses ' . ''

{Tania} '' World Bosses? ''

{Mr.Omens} '' They are new kind of much stronger bosses. To kill them you will need more than just a guild or two. Their stats will be about three times of that of normal bosses of the same level except their Health and Mana which will be at ten and five times respectively. Another special thing about them is their immunity to damage to any enemy with level difference over 50. Also the so called enemies will get a hex after they try to damage the world bosses which will turn them to stone for the next six hours. The hex can't be cured by anything and anyone. Since the World Bosses appear from level 1 to level 1200 all players will have a chance to go against them if they are willing to. ''

{Tania} '' What is the reason behind those restrictions? ''

{Mr.Omens} '' I had a feeling you would ask me that Tania. You see the rewards of killing a World Boss will be quite higher too. The loot is of higher quality and also the drop rates are higher. For this very reason we feared that the strongest guilds will monopolize the World Bosses and the lower level players wouldn't be able to experience the World Boss hunt. Even a level 1 World Boss can drop something so amazing even a level 500 or 600 will want. ''

{Tania} '' Such drops just by a level 1 boss? What stops the higher level guilds from putting some low level players kill the low level World Boss and then claim the rewards from them? There are also thief classes that can steal them right? ''

{Mr.Omens} '' Firstly, to kill even a level 1 World Boss you will need thousands of level 1 to level 51 players. Not really easy to do so 10 years after the release of the game. Secondly, even if they could actually 'employ' such a number of players the developers put another restriction. The drops will be claimed only by the group with the highest damage done to the World Boss. The drops then will be able to be used by them and only them. That way the economy is not going to take a hit too. ''

{Tania} '' The developers have really thought about everything, haven't they? The lower level guilds will have a shot on climbing up the ladder or even compete for the top place. ''

{Mr.Omens} '' That's quite right Tania, items dropped from a 600 level World Boss can be used until level 800-850 easily. If a guild can claim a lot of these items, competing with higher level guilds will be possible. ''

{Tania} '' By this point we get several messages from viewers that show how much they support this update! Most messages however mention or should I say foresee the downfall of Ultras Guild, the guild that is considered by many the strongest guild right now. Such thoughts are expected to be honest, after all Ultras is a guild made by 'quality' players that focus more on recruiting only the most promising players. The total number of members is around 50 but that is with all the NPCs they got for manual and paper-work. The actual number of players is less than 30. For their guild it's impossible to try and kill a World Boss.''

{Mr.Omens} '' I am not going to comment on what are their chances. Whatever is going to happen I just hope it's going to be interesting. ''

{Tania} '' I understand that as a representative of UNICORP you can not take a side or show favorism, so I am going to ask you what else this update stores for the players. ''

{Mr.Omens} '' Well there will be some other minor changes which the players will probably find soon once the update is done so, I am only going to say that you all should be ready for fashion week. ''

{Tania} '' That's pure torture! It kind of makes me wish I didn't know at all. '' said the announcer raising her hands in the air while trying to make a silly face at the same time.

{Mr.Omens} '' Ha Ha, that is a reaction I actually expected from someone as fashionable as you Tania. I guess I should give you something else to look forward into, to make it up to you? ''

{Tania} '' I will not say No, to such a kind gesture. ''[th_117_.gif]

{Mr.Omens} '' On the day of the anniversary a World Tournament is going to be held. On that day, every player will get a magic scroll in their inventory which after usage will teleport the player on the place the Tournament will be held. Of course participation on the Tournament is not mandatory and everyone will be able to watch the fights for free. ''

{Tania} '' That's really exciting! A Tournament which everyone can join. Until now these kinds of events had an entrance fee, short notice and short registration period. Many players lost the opportunity to join because they couldn't travel to the place the Tournaments were held. With this magic scroll however that problem is solved. What will be the rewards of this event? I think pretty much everyone expects some huge reward. ''

{Mr.Omens} '' Truth to be told even I don't know about the rewards or the rules of the Tournament. The developers have a lot of good ideas about the Tournament but they can't decide what is the best out of all of them. That's why in the end they agreed to use more than one idea for the Tournament. Which of their ideas they are going to use and what will the rewards be, maybe even they don't know yet. It will be a big surprise for anyone I think. I suggest to all players to not lose this chance, after all it's a once in a decade opportunity. Also the fact that some high level NPCs will be there too, makes this even more worthwhile. You never know when a good quest is going to turn up. ''

Chris kept watching for a little more the exchange between UNICORP's representative and the announcer before closing the TV and heading to his big sized room. Once there he took a hot bath and changed in the appropriate attire to go out for a drink in one of the overcrowded clubs he usually went. He remembered what transpired earlier in the day when two unexpected visitors stopped by his place. Inside his silver Bugatti, Chris was heading to the determined destination where he would let off some steam and have some fun. He wanted to do and enjoy things he usually did in the past in case he would feel he is missing any of them in the near future. By tomorrow his life would change radically.
