Chapter 1 - Goblin shark?
She instinctively reacted, turning her body around frantically, trying to locate where the sound is coming from, but to no avail.
"What do you mean a second life? Is it reincarnation or something." She called out to the mysterious voice.
"Why yes, you are exactly right. All you have to do is step up and touch the podium, and your choice of reincarnation would be up to you." The mysterious voice said.
She then walks up to the podium and examines it closely, before placing her right hand on the hand-shaped imprint on the surface of the podium.
Her placing her hand on the podium has triggered the podium's hidden mechanism, as the whole podium starts to glow.
"Okay, so what now? What am I supposed to do after I activated the podium?" She asked the mysterious voice inside her head.
Her inquiry is cut short as a holographic blue screen, that which is commonly seen in sci-fi movies has appeared hovering above the podium in front of her.
Please choose a heritage Human Beast Fairy Demon Aquatic Undead
"Wow, this is some sci-fi shit that you have here! And what does it mean by your chosen heritage? Mr. Disembodied Voice." She asked the mysterious voice inside her head.
"Well, since you are being reincarnated. I thought that it would be best if I were to give you a varied amount of choices, to choose from. Plus in this world, that yours don't, we have something that which is called magic." The mysterious voice inside er head explains.
"Well, that is all nice and all, but I just want to live my life as an ordinary human." She says this to the mysterious voice, whilst her hand is accidentally pressed against the blue screen.

Without her noticing, she has already selected a choice, and there is no going back. There are no redo buttons.
System Log Congratulations! You have chosen the 'Aquatic Heritage'!
She then looks at where her fingers are pressed against the screen, and she immediately sighs, realising that it was her own fault for not looking where she leaned on.
After the system announcement disappears, the screen is then replaced with another.

"It would seem that my stats are below average, though it is hard to tell with nothing else to compare to, but what are these skill points used for." She asked the mysterious voice inside of her head for answers.
"The skill points are used to buy new skills from the monster system. To access your skill list please press and hold onto the skill point option." The mysterious voice answered.
Since she has nothing else left to lose, and she plentiful of time. So she does as what she was instructed, and pressed on the skill points tab, and hold it for 3 seconds.
The status screen then shrinks and minimises, switching to the skill list tab.

"Okay, I think I sort of got it, but what is a goblin shark." She asked the mysterious voice inside her head, whilst pointing on the species tab 'Red-eyed goblin shark'.
"Well, the Goblin shark is a rare species of deep-sea sharks. With a horrendously ugly appearance that resembles a goblin, and breeds fast and adaptive like a goblin. The red-eyed part is due to a special gift from your previous incarnation." The mysterious voice inside her head answered.
"Okay, so I'm basically becoming an ugly deep-sea fish with glowing red magic eyes. Oh great, never in my whole life would I expect that to come off my mouth." She said.
"Yes, and I know the exact feeling." The mysterious voice inside her head responded.
"Well, I'm now ready. Though is it possible for me to take this thing with me, but in a much smaller version. You know since Im going to be a fish and all. It may come in handy." She asked the mysterious voice inside of her head.
"Sure thing, but I'm going to have to take all of your skill points for it. The whole equivalent exchange thing..." The mysterious voice inside her head said, with a light grain of salt.
"Low blow dude! Low blow..." She talks back.
System Log You have purchased the skill [Appraisal] from the monster system! 100 skill points are hereby consumed! System Log You automatically learned the skill [Appraisal]!
"Well, good luck then. I hope that you have a safe journey then." The mysterious voice said to her.
"Wait a minute! I..." She didn't get to finish her sentence when the whole entire white room starts to break down, as the whole ceiling collapsed letting the waters flood in.
With the whole room flooded with water, her body is then enveloped in white light, as her body is then transformed into that of a Goblin shark.
This is her first step on the road to becoming the red-eyed demon, feared by all.

Summary Alexander Weiss, an intelligent and slightly unusual man, always dreamt of becoming a mage. Sadly, reality is harsh and even his best efforts never allowed him to achieve his goal during his lifetime... or did they? One has to be careful what they wish for, lest they might live to see it fulfilled. Description Follow Alex, a man whose pursuit of magic could not even be stopped by his non-magical reality, going as far as to create it himself, only to encounter an unsurmountable obstacle shortly before achieving his lifes goal, denying him all access to these powers. His journey will take him through a miraculous world, full of wonders, magic and manic beasts trying to devour him! He will learn much about this world during his adventures, exploring individual aspects of the System and the various monsters that came from it... or did they? Strong points What you'll get from this novel is the following (read with overly enthusiastic salesman-voice) : • An ending! I'll complete it, no matter what. Well, not "no matter what", but as long as I don't unexpectedly end, this novel won't either! • Good grammar! Might not be perfect, but it's definitely good enough to not detract from the story in the slightest. I'll also fix any reported mistakes as soon as possible, be they grammatical, syntactical or just inconsistencies. • No plot-armor! Or plot-weapons! Or plot-... potions? And no plot-holes! If you see some, it's most likely information that is being witheld for future revelations! But in the (hopefully) very unlikely case of such a vile beast being encountered, please inform me immediately and I'll see to slaying it without grace! (Translation: If you see plot-holes, tell me and I'll fix them) • Logic! [Hidden : Spoilers][Hidden : More Spoilers] [Moved to Chapter [Hidden Spoiler]'s Author's Note] Marvelous, I know! • Blue Boxes! And maybe something more! • Sensible retroactive edits! Not to be confused with radioactive edits! You'll not have to re-read previous chapters, even if they get some major edits. If they were to receive new information, I'll add that very information to the newly released chapters too, in a reasonable way. • Realism! Shocking, I know! Especially considering the tag related to that and the point about "Logic!". This also means that the story will be... well, realistically depicting a pretty messed up world. Don't expect bunnies... at least not cute ones. • Relatively faster paced! No long and boring descriptions of irrelevant stuff. There will be some longer descriptions about important things, but that's gonna be necessary world- and/or character-building! • Short action! Might not be a plus for some, but you won't have to look at a whole (or, god forbit, multiple) chapter describing a fight against the same enemy... • Strategy and hard progression! It's a dog-eat-dog world! No grinding/power-creep! If you're up against three enemies of your level at once, you've already lost! • Understanding! It will be mostly about discovering the wonders of this new world and how it became like that, all while trying to survive. So there will be enough action nonetheless! • Humor! Sometimes dark, sometimes light, always at the worst moment! • Constructive critics, welcome! Destructive critics, nope... I can handle criticism though, so don't go easy on me! Just make sure it's really a mistake when complaining about something. • Will add more in the future! If I can think of more stuff...
