《The Abandoned Disciple》Chapter 26

“Don’t hurt Sophie and auntie!” Hana yelled as she threw a jagged rock towards the bird beast.
The projectile flew in a straight line, successfully hitting the Divine Peacock in the eye. It staggered back a step before gazing at Hana with murderous eyes.
Hana dropped to the floor exhausted. It was clear she had mustered all her courage and strength in that throw.
Silence…
The entire area was void of movement; even the crying children stopped crying. At the moment, you could only hear Hana still panting.
The young master was the first to show any signs of movement. A bulging vein could be seen across his head as he said, “Good…very good!” He then began to clap. “Come, everyone, we must commend her on her bravery!” the two guards by his side also began to clap, but everyone else had ashen faces. “Even here, there are still brave souls. Beast, give her what she deserves.” he put on a malicious grin.
The beast roared out, causing many people to cover their ears. It burst from its spot, charging towards the still panting Hana.
“Oh no!” She turned her head to her brother who was looking at her with a shocked expression. When she saw her one and only friend and her mother about to be injured, her body reacted before she knew it.
“Brother, I’m sorry.” she pushed Relic away, and ran away from him, hoping the beast would only chase her.
Relic staggered backwards, staring at his sister fleeing figure. A smile suddenly appeared on his face. “You are a very brave girl.” he mumbled. He felt proud to have a sister who didn’t need to think in order to help others. It was a rare trait Relic did not see often in others, even in his past life.
Without hesitating, he ran towards the raging peacock who was charging towards his sister. Immediately, the peacock caught sight of Relic and switched its target to him. At that same moment, Hana turned her head and saw that her brother was running towards the spirit beast.
“NO!” she screamed
Despite the screams from the surrounding people, Relic only increased his speed. He threw out a punch which seemed incapable of hurting anyone. The beast responded by extending its long neck, aiming its beak towards Relic’s head.
The spectator's closed their eyes from the gore that was about to happen. Relic eye’s showed no fear, even as the beast’s sharp beak closed in. Relic continued forward until its beak was only a few inches from his eye. Suddenly, he shifted his entire body to the right and spun a full 360 degrees.
The Peacock’s attack just barely grazed Relic’s cheek as its momentum carried it forward. It seemed shocked the little boy was able to dodge its attack. It tried to quickly retract its neck but suddenly felt a sharp jab down on its neck.

In the brief time where it missed its attack, its entire neck was exposed. Relic used that opportunity to carry forth his body’s momentum and jabbed his elbow downwards in between two small, almost unnoticeable, bumps on the beast's neck.
Crack…
Sounds of bone cracking could be heard as soon as the attack landed. Relic’s eyes twitched slightly from the pain. He could tell his elbow bone was slightly cracked. The Peacock felt an electric shock course through its body and became slightly dazed.
Relic did not stop nor did he shriek from the pain. He thrusted down his elbow once more on the exact same spot, a second time, a third….
The Divine Paradise Peacock tried to move but the consecutive hits from Relic made its whole body feel numb and sluggish.
Finally, after the 5th blow, a different sound was heard and the Peacock's neck dropped onto the ground.
The crowd of people, as well as the young man, stood in disbelief. Their jaws were left agape and eyes bulging.
“Brother!” Hana came rushing in, practically jumping onto Relic, and embracing him tightly.
“Y-you could’ve been killed, because of m-me...I’m s-so s-s-orry.” her tears soaked his clothes.
Relic patted her on the head. “You did what you thought was right, there is no need to apologize. However, it is also quite foolish to let your emotions to take control like that. You must always be aware of what is happening and think of the best situation to take care of it.”
He then gave her a light knock on the head. “Don’t let it happen again, okay?” he gave her a light smile.
“Brother...” her entire view of her brother seemed to change completely at that one moment. It was as if she suddenly gained an older brother; someone who would look after her.
“But…your arm…”
His left arm was swollen and bleeding.
“Hana, please move away, there is still trouble.”
“Eh?”
“Y-you!” Young master Yan Mu stammered angrily as he pointed at Relic. “You dare do that to my spirit beast?! Kill him!” he commanded.
“Yes!” The two men by his side summoned out their swords and charged towards Relic.
Relic frowned and pushed Hana away. The two guards were fast, much faster than the bird beast he had just downed. Within moments they were within striking distance of Relic. Relic gritted his teeth and focused on the movements of their attacks.
They lifted up their swords and slashed downwards with murderous intent. At the same time their arms moved down, Relic had already begun to move his body downwards. He rolled in front of them, quickly extending his two feet and struck hard between their legs which were spread apart.
Instantly, the two guards grimaced in pain and dropped their swords as they held onto their family jewels. They staggered backwards and made contorted faces.

The crowd of people busted out in laughter looking at the faces the two guards were making. Even the more elderly of the people could not hold in their laughter. After the humiliation the young master had brought to their people, everyone felt this scene was a bit comical.
Yan Mu popped a vein on his head and was red faced. “What are you imbeciles doing?! You are both in the foundation realm, how are you incapable of handling a small mortal boy?! If you don’t catch him in the next minute you two can forget about coming back to the Yan family.”
“Y-yes!” The two guards paled when they heard their young master’s words and picked up their weapons. However, when they looked up, Relic had already made his way towards the houses in the distance. He quickly went to an area where there was coverage.
Relic was someone who was battle hardened through his adventures, and for the most part of his life, he had to fight as a regular mortal against those in the soulless warrior realm as well as the foundation realm. He knew how to handle stronger opponents but right now, he was currently a weak and injured little boy.
He chose to use the coverage of the homes to slow down his opponents while he made his way towards the center of this town. His only choice was to make enough noise so that the mayor of this town notices and comes stop these people.
The two guards summoned out two large and broad swords. The swords immediately grew in size and they both hopped onto these levitating swords.
“My god…they are immortal cultivators!”
“Please forgive us of our insolence.”
Some of the people immediately began to grovel on the ground. Despite living in an area surrounded by spirit beasts, the people in this town lived in relatively peaceful and ignorant lives. Spirit Beasts were dangerous creatures and cultivators were gods among men. This was something most of the residents living here thought.
The guards ignored the commotion and hoped onto their flying swords, flying towards Relic with incredible speeds.
The flying swords they were on immediately tore through several homes as if they were made of mud.
However, even seeing this did not discourage Relic who continued to weave between homes. “Just a bit more…” he could see the blue crystal in the distance. There was no chance that the sovereign crystal had no protection surrounding it. If he could just get there, then the mayor will definitely show up.
Relic was gasping for breath and he could feel his body screaming in pain.
Whoosh!
Relic bent backwards and saw the hovering sword just barely miss him.
“Che…” the man grunted.
Relic immediately jumped to the left just as a sword slashed downwards. The other guard seemed to raise an eye brow as he sent a flurry of slashes against Relic.
Although Relic was just a small child, he was capable of reading his enemies movements and dodging just in the nick of time.
The man sent out fourteen slashes against Relic before he stopped.
“Amazing!” he exclaimed. This man was older than the other guard and the scars on his face would give the impression he was quite an experienced warrior.
“Young boy, what is your name?” he suddenly asked.
Relic quickly saw the other guard was already behind him, blocking his retreat. With no other option he decided to catch his breath and replied: “My name is Relic.”
“Mn, Relic, you have monstrous talent in martial arts. The fact that you were able to dodge all my attacks tells me that. If you were a cultivator of the same rank as me I would not doubt you would win 100% of the time if we fought.” He sighed. “If it was up to me, I would take you back to the Yan family and have you enter it. Unfortunately, I’m just a lowly member in that family. And because you and your sister interfered with our young master’s affairs, I’m afraid you will never be able to realise your talent.”
The old guard then lifted his sword as his countenance turned solemn. “Essence Endowment!”
The sword in his hand immediately glowed with energy before bursting into flames. The flames enshrouded the sword and radiated immense heat.
Relic immediately had an ashen look on his face. “A mid rank foundation realm…dammit.” He quickly changed his stance and prepared for the attack.
However…
“Stop!” Yan Mu suddenly shouted.
The two guards were shocked. Was their young master planning on sparing this boy? This was something they didn’t dare believe.
“Kill the girl!” he pointed at Hana. Hana had been looking in awe and shock as she saw her brother continuously dodge those blows. When she heard Yan Mu's words, she quickly paled and staggered a step back.
“Yes!” The two guards quickly ignored Relic and flew towards Hana with their swords in Hand. Hana felt her legs were like jelly and she dropped onto the floor.
“NO!” Relic shouted. He couldn’t have imagined the Yan Mu would still have been focused on his sister. He reached out and tried to run towards them but he was too slow.
The younger guard was the first to arrive as he prepared to slash down at Hana. It was at that moment a powerful pressure was felt by everyone. The two guards were slammed down onto the ground by an invisible pressure and their face buried in dirtt.
“What do you two think you are doing attacking my people?!" an enraged voice could be heard by everyone.
