《Parasite》Foreword, Credits etc.

I figured that because of how much fun I am having with writing this story and seeing how I will continue doing so for the foreseeable future, I might as well include a foreword!
Parasite is a little work of love for isekai light novels and of course litRPGs that I've had going around my head for a while. Unfortunately due to life keeping me busy, I am less available than I would like to be, and because I want to let friends double-check my writing before publishing anything, the pace will be a little slow, but I aim to keep it consistent! Slow and steady wins the race, and all that.
If you're new here, welcome! If you're a return reader, welcome back! If you've the time, please leave a comment, a rating or a review! Every bit of feedback, inconsistencies pointed out and other issues in my writing are very much appreciated and help improve the story for everyone!
Thank you so much for reading, and I hope you enjoy Parasite!

The bug on the cover art was done by the wonderful NeoNeko5000 on Twitter and the background by the equally wonderful PWL on opengameart!
Thanks to several extremely talented authors on both Royalroad and other sites for the inspiration their stories gave me, and the many smiles those same stories put on my face!
Many thanks also go out to a number of friends and acquaintances who have helped me proofread chapters to iron out the mistakes I have missed, and of course to the royalroad readers who pointed out things I missed in the chapter comments. Even if you're not mentioned by name, I appreciate all of you!

Borrowed Time
When his laboratory is attacked, Rory, a young researcher, manages to escape with the help of a curious new device reverse-engineered from alien technology. Four hundred years later, he finds himself neither in Utopia nor in a desolate wasteland, but an entire medieval-esque society. With knowledge and technology at his side, he attempts to reconstruct human civilization—but he's running on borrowed time.

The story takes place on the world known as Edge, a place of fantasy and wonder. William Crow is an orphaned teen on the cusp of manhood, and is also a member of a class known as "soulless", for in this world those who do not develop their own "soul skill" become known as such. Soul skills vary in range and rarity, having many different functions and uses; however, not having one automatically makes an individual have incredibly low standing amongst society. William's inability to develop his own soul skill, along with the loss of his parents at a very young age, drives him into the corner of life. Making him a reserved and often frightened individual. However, his life changes drastically when he is chosen for one of the "Scouting" lotteries, in which the capital city forces some of the soulless to scout potential danger zones for monsters or enemy units. It's during this "mission" that he discovers the power that lies within him: System.
8 163The Arcanist Seer
An eye of which sees everything beyond the skies and heavens saw an embodying fate with reek of blood and greed. He who sees the future and yet is restrained by his own shackles of his destiny. An eye that serves a purpose but nothing in exchange for his freedom. Will he remain as a tool of his adversary or escape from his own shackles of fate? This is a story of two old men trying to free from the shackle of their destiny set in a future only to await their impending doom. This is a story of a dead god, and of a storyteller, trying to break from the bonds of the past. And as their stories go, one of them will face the events that unfold in their distant past, as the other one will unveil its mystery predicted by its future. Is it a mistake to challenge fate, after all? *** The world-building is set upon on the universal scale, with dungeon and old-style fantasy. It has a progression that follows with the consistency of a dungeon setting, although it's not what you call a dungeon, but a function of a crystal. There's a lot to take in this novel, but that's all within my intention. I have always enjoyed challenging conventional ideas. The cover is not mine, it's just temporary.
8 204Lucian
In this world, beside humans, there are also angels, fallen angels and demons, who hide in human society. Only some humans know about them and those who know, are the ones who hunt them. Lucian is a 16 year old highschool boy, who has a girly face. People, who meet him, always think at first, that he acts like girl too, but in reality he is a foul mouthed and violent person. He also is a mix between an angel, a fallen angel and a demon. He doesn't side with any of the four races and so he can be anyone's friend or enemy. This fiction includes: blood, sex, foul language and things, that some may find offensive!
