《Aesha Roxinne Flinn》A question in a shooting range

After that mission, Rex and Vien have been ignoring me, and I definitely know why.
I think it is a good thing for me since I won't be dealing with other people anymore.
It is not my first time losing someone because they disagree with my opinion or ways to deal with things. I've tried to live a normal life before, in my 18, but they are always ridiculed by what I am, what I've gone through, and what I wanted them to see. They always fail to understand me, to see through me, so I decided to stop connecting with others anymore.
And I guess I have to live up that way for the next years of my life.
I opened my door to inhale fresh air, and they are unexpectedly outside Vien's room.
Deither, Vien, and Rex are there, talking about something. They looked in each other's eyes and I know that they are not supposed to walk away but they did as soon as I appeared. I watched Vien and Rex turn their backs and walk away, probably anywhere where they won't see or interact with me.
I stared blankly at Deither, who is still sitting at the edge of the building, no clear plans to move away. He isn't looking at me.
Isn't he supposed to leave too?
I leaned on the edge far from him, to watch the busy people below us. I woke up late and it is already afternoon when I decided to leave my room.
The sun seems to have its long season again, not yet planning to hide despite the time now. I've spent my time, watching people move and go, because what else should I do?
I've seen Rex, Vien, and their added companies below, walking to get inside the cafeteria.
"You are not eating?" Deither unexpectedly opened his mouth for a question.
I didn't turn to him, instead, I lifted my eyes to the third floor, where that scandalous girl who challenge me is, looking at us. Her eyes met mine after she glared at Deither, whose back is turned to her.
Now she is glaring at me, to which I responded with my usual null expression.

She tends to give off too much expression, making people know about her obvious feelings.
"I'm fine," I said, although it's been 4 days since I've stopped eating in here, after that mission.
And him, having a conversation with me right now is still unusual. I know him as a silent and reserved man. Within the days I've been here, he is always alone and does his activities when almost everyone is asleep. I am aware of that because I cannot also sleep properly in this place. He also isolates himself and I've never seen him be together with other people except with Rex and Vien, and that glaring woman on the third floor, which also happens rarely. He also barely talks much.
We spend another minutes of silence, focusing on different things, our backs are turned to different scenarios. In front of me, is the view of the building. He is facing my opened room.
Until he suddenly went down where he was after a while. Probably to leave now.
"Sometimes you should also consider an explanation for something, by that they can also understand. People, if neglected with truths can end up doing something unnecessary, " he uttered before he walked and disappeared to I don't know where.
I stayed where I am, with his words lingering in my mind. I remained in my position and waited for the sunset to happen.

After a long sleep again, I woke up and it is already the other day. It is two in the morning and I am now heading to the shooting range since I cannot sleep anymore.
I needed to walk out of the dormitory to reach it since it is in a different location. I can use my motorcycle to head in there fast, but today I decided to just walk.
There are so many things on my mind and I think a good walk alone can accommodate them.
I reached it and another impressive facility is laid in front of my eyes. There is an available shooting station outside, and there is also this large building, endorsing a shedded shooting station.
Now, I know where his wealth is going to.
I entered the building. I turned on the lights and I am again impressed with how it is structured, like the gym, it is decorated with high-quality equipment and materials.

There is no single person here.
I walked until the middle of it and sat on its floor for a while inspecting the place. He definitely wants everything under his lead to be perfect.
I stood up and walked on where I'll be shooting, the firing point. I opened my bag and pulled out the different guns I brought. I laid them flat on the table in front of me. I guess I can try and practice all of these here. It's been months since German and I practiced, so I might get rusty.
I grabbed the first one and aimed at the target. I shot and it is very near the main target.
But I don't want that.
I needed to target the center, not just an almost.
I pulled and pulled the trigger until I am fully satisfied with my continuous successful shooting. I clicked the button beside me to remove the already shooted stationary target. And clicked another button again to practice on little targets.
I grabbed the next gun and aimed at the target. I shot them all successfully again. I clicked another button again and now I need to shoot moving targets. I grabbed my longest gun, calculating my targets' movements and adjusting my position.
However, in the middle of my shootings, all the other targets got shot... but not by my bullets.
Someone is here.
Rex entered without a gun, while Vien is so proud endorsing hers.
"I thought there are too many gunshots coming from here. I woke up hearing it, so I went here and saw someone who said something wrong in the mafia… and the people in it,"
I placed my gun on the table and faced them fully. I thought they are not fond of seeing me, so why are they here now?
Ah, must be because they are the loyal people of the mafia, and they are so into maintaining the order of things in their territory. And I am here, doing all the things I think of doing, out of order.
I waited for her to talk more but she didn't add more so I proceeded.
"By now, I know you know why I did that."
I watch her irritated disposition change upon hearing me.
"And yes, I've used your temper to kill her and it is very effective," I said to confirm their thoughts, emphasizing how I used her temper as a tool for it.
"But you should have talked or signaled us before moving on your own!" she reasoned out, now angry at something.
I glanced at the man beside her, and he is just still looking at me. Now, where is that playful attitude of him? He has also transformed into a serious one?
What a waste.
"I've spent years of moving alone, so why do I need to change that now?"
"I could have killed you!" she shouted which made me pause, especially when I realized something in her voice.
Of course, I would be killed if I didn't dodge it at the right time. That's how guns and bullets work.
She's been out killing people for years too. So what change would it bring if she could have killed me? She can just go on in her life, and not dwell on it this way.
Now I do not know what she is angry about.
Is it because I betrayed them? Or is it because I am too independent again, that I fail to consult them about my plan, which could possibly bring me death?
"My life isn't precious just so you know," I finally said before turning back.
I am settling all my guns back on the bag when Rex threw me a question that I never wanted to answer.
"Why are you so scared of letting people in in your life?" his voice is too inquisitive that it made me startled for a moment.
I closed my bag as soon as I settled everything in.
"You can ask your boss for that," I said, and walked casually on the other entrance, to remove myself out of them, their questions, and the effect that question brought me again.

My Life is Not a Manga, or maybe...
Xavier had a happy, humdrum life: normal friendships, a normal girlfriend, a somewhat oddball family. Until, that is, he literally stumbled through the fourth wall and discovered he was the protagonist of a manga. Now he's scrambling to maintain any semblance of control over his own life in the face of something he never imagined he would need to contend with: the power of the Genre. Hello, E.O. Tenkey here; thank you for your interest in "Not A Manga"! This was my first serial novel, and I hope you enjoy Xavier's predicament! Familiarity with manga not required (though it can't hurt)! I look forward to exploring the bounds of the Genre with you. (First volume is rated PG-13 for comic mayhem and light profanity—these are high school students, after all. Second volume is rated PG-13 to R for some violence and similar levels of profanity. Tags may or may not contain spoilers.)
