《First Draft》Night Five

"Hello? Hello, hello! I think that date went excellently," Phone guy said happily, and I huffed out a laugh, grinning. We had found a topic that both of us adored, and the date ended up going up until I had to leave for work. As it was I was almost five minutes late. Walking into the school with a smile on my face, I spoke as I gathered the cleaning cart.

"Yeah, it was pretty great. We should do that again sometime. Maybe, hah, maybe not at Heaven's Gate, though. There's a chinese buffet that goes until eleven thirty, though. Pretty cheap, too."

"Yes! I mean, uh, that would be nice, heheh," He laughed awkwardly at how eager he sounded, "How about next Tuesday? We can make it a weekly thing."

"Sure!" I agreed happily, an easygoing grin on my face.

"Er, if you survive," Phone guy's voice went flat for a moment, "I'm sure that you will! You're pretty great... Ahem. Night Five! Congratulations! You've almost made it through the whole week! Only the weekend left. Heh, the weekend... You'll be fine," I'm silent, smile fading slightly. He was trying to reassure himself, "Uh, next suggestion! If they're being particularly... active... Close your eyes and count to ten aloud! They tend to leave you alone after that for a bit, heheh... Not sure why. Good luck!"

"Thanks. Have a good night," I said, hanging up and putting my phone away.

Chatty ghost doesn't appear at all, and the night is pretty rough. The lights girl turns off the lights a few times, where I close my eyes and wait for her molestations to end and the lights to turn back on, the corner man is in every corner that's even remotely dark, and the incubus not only gets what seems to be blood everywhere leading up to his shower, but comes out and almost spreads my blood everywhere. At the end of the night, though, the chatty man appears in front of the doors.

I slow down, before stopping, giving the chatty ghost a confused look, but remaining silent. His shoulders were tense, and he seemed mad, so I figured I probably shouldn't speak. Moving to the next door, it clicks locked before I can leave. Looking at the sun, I see that it hasn't even peaked over the horizon yet. I glanced back at the silent man, and awkwardly move to stand in front of him again. We're silent a while, but he doesn't break it, this time, and as the sun slowly starts appearing, I grow restless.

"Um..." I didn't know what to say, or if there was anything to say, really. I had just done my job, I didn't know what he wanted, or why he was just standing there silently. The sun was almost all the way up, and my heart pounded, "Please... move?" I asked, not understanding why he was so nice yesterday but so... silent today.

"You're mine, you know that, right?" He asked, voice oddly sympathetic, as if I did something wrong and was crying about it like a kid.

"Uh, I- I'm not- I'm not anyone's? Move- dude, the sun-" Suddenly I was pinned against the wall next to the last door, and I almost looked up only to look away, back, at the sun, which was almost entirely up. I swallowed, closed my eyes, and counted, "One, two, three, four, five-"

"You don't think that will work, do you?" He asked derisively, "Don't bother."

"-six, seven, eight, nine, ten," He was gone when I opened my eyes, and I sprinted out the door right before it clicked locked, and I sprinted the rest of the way to my car, heart pounding.
