《Warlord 6》Chapter 1

*Thud* *Thud* *Splash!* *thud*
Why'd it have to rain?!? She thought to herself. The rain beats down on her black cloak bearing the insignia of her Clan, The insignia shined bright in the dark down streets. The White Dragon.
*thud, slash!* every step sounding the same. "I just gotta get a lead on this guy then i can get outta this Dreaded weather". She mumbled.
She continued to walk the drenched streets making turns were needed looking at all the empty stalls. "I guess no one was expecting it to rain today.." She would continue until coming upon a unique dark alley. "Hate this place.." She mumbled.
As she began to walk down the alleyway the rain picked up, then BOOM! She jumped at the loud crashing thunder. "Why is it so loud, almost doesn't seem natural...." She waved the thought and continued down the alley. Once she hit the end she made a right and came upon the black metal door at the end of the alley. It bearing the mark of the black market. "The Rearing Bull" Osiris scoffs at the insignia, what a underwhelming sign for the black market! She thought.
She moved up to the door and knocked twice. "West Lagoon"
The metal bar slides open with an aggressive swing. "What do you want osiris?" The eyes peering at her glowing red, with anger or irritation she could not tell. "Here on business Taku, thats all"
"Business again eh?" He said almost laughing . "if business is another fight i may have to kill you before they do!"
"Come on that was just an accident..." She said shamefully laughing a bit.
"Like the other three times i'm sure all of them were accidents." He said unamused. There was a moment of pause between the two where only the rain falling like hail could be heard.
"Well can I come in?" She said trying to break the silence.
"If trouble is caused by you im throwing you out on the streets again urchin!" He said laughing at his own comments.

She backed up and the door glowed red for a moment before swinging open revealing the large figure of Taku. "Come on its cold and wet urchin!" He yelled at her.
"Thank you Taku" she said walking in and begining down the large staircase. "Be gone urchin!" He said pushing her down the stairs. She nearly tripped cause she was shoved but she recovered smiled at him waved and began down the many stairs to descend upon the black market.
She began down the spiral stairs passing the first 5 floors, the "Market Floors".
Then floor six and seven, The "Entertainment Floors", Osiris simply scoffed at that one being where she would get thrown out at all the time when she lived here.
Speaking of living here she passed floor eight, nine, and ten, (The living floors". Though her hotel room was much more comfortable. She suddenly stopped at the stairs of floor nine though, and began to cut across ans straight through the place. She pulled her cloak over her head and only looked straight ahead, she passed many homes which were basically just tarps with wooden walls, she knew people were looking at her, the shining white Dragon was a give away. "A Guild member down here?" She could hear them say. "She must be hear to kill!"
"Or to throw us all in prison!" Though none were true she understood why they thought that, Many guild clans usually come and take people in the night, though not like there is a night in this place as it constantly glows a dim red.
She continued to walk her eyes blankly staring ahead listening to all the chatter and feeling their eyes follow her. She felt one get up and begin to follow her, though she sped up a bit she maintained her look straight a head.
She finally sees the door she has to take to get where she needs to go. She turns her focus to that and speeds up a bit.
"Hey little Missy where you going?" One man says standing behind her. She finally begins to sprint to the door. "Hey get back here you bitch!" He screams as two more men get up and chase her with him. She gets to the door swings it open and slams it in the mens faces. "Hey get this door open!" One man yells.

They bring a crowbar and it swings the door open and all there is, is silence behind the door. The door creeks open and the men enter. "Hello?!?" They whisper.
"Where did she go?!?"
"I don't know!"
Silence remains...
Then a shuffle on the ceilings. "Hello!"
The men look up to see her hanging off the corner of the stairway, her right hand glowing blue stuck to the wall, her other hand three throwing knifes in between her three middle fingers.
She just smirks.

The Metal stairs groan with every step she takes, her knives reholstered and her large knife not even beared yet. "Black market men." She mumbles. She looked at her right hand glove "guess Sumiye really did infuse this with magic."
She finally gets to the bottom of the old black stairway she puts her hood back up and stares up at the sign above the large archway of shops and people ahead of her.
"FLOOR 11"
It read, floor eleven was where all big bosses and info brokers set up.
She looked straight a head, This place still had the same dim red light but was much cleaner and more professional.
Osiris laughed with a smirk as she looked at all the people in front of her "Guess if you have all that info you probably want to be organized like this."
She walked into the middle of the "road" looking at faces, searching for one person. Step after step a new face to look at scanning each person for the man she seeks. "Looking for me Osiris?" A voice says mockingly. She turns to see a hooded figure standing in between two of the shops. "Ah kenji!" She smiles waving at him as she comes over. "You act like its been months urchin!"
"Well kenji it at LEAST has been a month." She says putting her hands over her head.
"But alas I assume this isn't a house call to finally thank me for saving you and your brother?" Kenji says adjusting his glasses. "So what do you want?..."
They pause, kenji still leaning against the brick wall and osiris frozen a few feet away.
"Have you seen this man?"
She hands him the scroll.
"Well before I answer I need the upfront payment urchin, you being a guild member and all charging you a little extra wouldn't hurt now would it?" He tips his head back smiling.
"Would it?"
"Come on you can give me the discount cant you kenji?!?"
"Being my caretaker and all!"
"That was a long time ago girl!" He says almost laughing
"You were just a young girl with your baby brother back then..."
"Oh don't get emotional kenji!"
"I will if i want, im not the one buying am i?!?"
She has no response.
"Now give me 100 Black market creds and ill consider telling you where this- He opens the scroll now- 'Weather man' is".
"Highest I'll go is 80 kenji!"
"80 and a 10% cut of the bounty maybe!"
She ponders the offer for a moment. "Deal you sleazy bastard!" She says reaching her hand out. "Deal!" He says back shaking her hand.
Kenji opens the scroll. "Hmm." The man goes into his shop and comes back with a compass.
"This will point you towards your man!"
"Thanks kenji, can always count on yo-"
"And I can count on that 10% cut!" He smiles back.
"Yeah, I guess you can."

BODY&SHADOW
AN ILLUSTRATED NOVEL • UPDATES TUESDAY AND FRIDAY In a time before living memory, the King Dragon of the Void watched the world and realized there was a crack. He realized that humanity was destroying the rock upon which they lived; they leaked life’s code into the churning chaos. At first the change was imperceptible: nanites overtook microorganisms, bacteria, viruses, amoebas. Insects became increasingly inorganic; birds and lizards followed soon after. Even humans were infected by their own advances, cell by cell, till there was not a person left on earth who wasn’t at least part synthetic, the product of a prior generation’s carelessness. The world’s population was ravaged by mechanical viruses with no vaccines; they were mercilessly overtaken by bacteria that knew no death. Soon, most of the planet was empty and only a handful remained who remembered the hedonist realm they came from; only a few were left who remembered what the world looked like when their buildings touched the sky. The King Dragon of the Void watched the rock turn. He watched humans cower as the Old World fell down around them; watched their great monuments crumble into dusty ruins; watched their codes become precious, ancient gem memories forged under the crushing pressure of so many fallen stones. The world has spun many times around the sun since chaos swallowed man whole. It is a simpler time than the one that died out, but the people now are not immune to the folly of the people before. There is old code everywhere: in the water, in the air, in the trees. The heart of man has been replaced by power cores, many of which are hard-coded with preternatural abilities—when they die, an esoteric mountain sect collects their cores and stores them in their hollow mountain home to preserve the sanctity and dignity of human death. They’ve learned to harness artifacts of the old world, gemstones full of codes their nanite infused bodies can parse as spells imbuing their users with great power; they inlay them into their bodies, into their skins, connected to their cores by copper conduit and gold tracers; they dress themselves in tattoos to advertise their prowess; they battle for relics in arenas, fight for them in the open world wherever they are found. The King Dragon of the Void watches the rock turn and wonders: when will this hunger finally make the rock stop spinning? WELCOME TO FANXING CITY … Twenty-five years ago, Fanxing City and the surrounding lands were commanded by the mad King Zao Beiguan. For many years, the King hoarded wealth, artifacts, food; he demanded tribute from a people already taxed to the edges of their existence and expected they be happy with their circumstances. Noncompliance was often punished harshly, bodies displayed proudly on Fanxing’s streets as a warning, from the city gates to the Zao palace’s golden doors. The youths of several prominent clans came together to overthrow the tyrant and made names for themselves as legendary heroes across the land: Tian, Ren, Feng, Gui, Ma, and Zhenxi. Even wanderers from the Luanshi sect descended from Yunji mountain to aid the rebellion. When the dust settled after three years, Tian Yunyong ascended the throne of Fanxing and swore to honour his slain father’s memory, and has maintained Fanxing’s peace with generosity and mercy where fear and cruelty once reigned.
