《Zoomchard: The Battle of Dominance(Cancelled)》5: Granted Power

The swarm of an uneasy feeling wrecked my shaking legs that struggled to straighten as I walked through a long hallway that no design reached, led by twenty-odd soldiers all standing twenty feet tall. Quietness was one thing that tapped away on an endless runway that nobody could ever escape even if they wanted to. My reflection was like a resurrecting shadow that followed my every move along with the polished white walls that disguised doors that were sneakier enough to avoid detection from average robots walking down a route where one will achieve their random power, no matter if it's bad or good. It's a power that will encourage them to become more confident than they were before.
Clank, clank, clank played like constant repeating footage of a silent movie where only the patients have the key to win this determination. Everyone around me was completely reserved, with no words or with no sneezes or coughs escaping their secured mouths that were like an image of a living, talking doll frying to fit in with the society. Their eyes only focused on one lane and that was the lane in front of me promptly facing one outcast door that loomed its black ink onto the reflective floor even though lights weren't seen anywhere. The lieutenant, the Ambilisian woman, gave me her professional name and that was Teri. Teri prevailed on any information about her life and kept a strict monologue of speech when formally interacting with me. She was very serious and didn't even let out a chuckle at my jokes, which aren't funny at all when I get nervous around certain robots.
"We are here," Teri spoke in a soft voice, directing her hands over to the black door that stood out from the blatant whiteness. I nonchalantly nodded and reached my hand out to pull down the handle so I could push it open. When I pushed it open, an arrogant creek screamed into the uncommunicative air, almost breaking the blank face that I was portraying as I stepped into another white room with just a stand in the middle. The stand had a glass screen on it and when I turned my head, I saw that everyone that followed me vanished entirely, at first I thought I was being jailed or something that would boost my anxiety but it wasn't the case at all.

"No need to worry. We are watching you from a room, go up to the stand and place your hand down to get the power you want." Teri's voice approached the muted white sound from the right of the room, I shifted my eyes to the right of the room, then shifted my eyes to the stand. I took a few steps to approach the stand and followed what Teri said.
I placed my hand on the stand that had an outline of a carved in shaped hand where the outlines glowed a green colour as to say I was being scanned once again. I took a deep breath and waited for the scan to end.
"Close your eyes," Teri said.
"Oh…" I replied without thinking and closed my eyes and took a deep breath again. Then a loud beeping sound came out from the glass screen and it went on for more than ten seconds before a long beep rang around the room.
"Completion Finished: The User's powers will be transferred right now." An emotionless, lifeless voice spoke. It was nerve-racking for sure, it made me question why I was doing this and what did it mean by transfer. Nothing happened for a while before a sudden bang snapped through my arm, my hand reacted instantly and shook violently as a powerful sensation tore through the veins of my arm. My arm carried on shaking while something tingling followed the powerful sensation.
I tried pulling back but I was frozen, my eyes were opening themselves by force and everything around me that gave the appearance of colour was shredded away into a dull and colourless vision, dark thin lines formed on walls to give a perspective of where everything was. The device my hand was melted on began to levitate in the air and I could see life forms of other robots miles away, I saw robots fighting aggressively, I saw robots suffering in sadness. I saw the brutal guards frozen in their mid-walk. Everything was completely frozen and everything around me became a levitated subject - even Teri, Callu and Rey were levitating along with the guards.

"Wh-What the hell?!" I stuttered in fright, my hand that I couldn't rip off the machine suddenly jerked me backwards as trails of green and purple lightning appeared from the bottom of my shins. Green and purple lighting were seen trailing off my eyes as I caught a glimpse of it in the corner of my eye creating a jagged lightning path as my gravity force became fragile that proceeded to loop me in a timeless flight. It was terrifying but it was also relaxing watching myself float through the air like I was slowed down while watching robots frozen in time gave me a feeling that I had when my parents were alive. I felt alive, to be honest, I felt amazing and not trapped in a cage of torture.
"I see…" I muttered with a soft smile before everything was seen speeding up again. It appeared to take an hour in total just to get the right speed acceleration, but when time did become accurate again I was slumped down on a cracked floor where the sound barrier was broken and repeated rumbles that shattered dust of wind so powerful that the building I was in vanished with an explosion that dented a one-hundred and fifty-nine-mile crate that went wide and deep under the ground. The sound barrier continued exploding swarms of clouds and terror for an hour before it went so far I couldn't hear anything of a barrier being broken anymore.
"What are you…?" Teri's broken voice hovered above me, I immediately glanced at her and saw her dreading face that washed away the calmness she acted on. Eventually, I came to realize when I sat up, I was in an unfamiliar area where cracks became rooted into a dusty ground of an overgrown nature that just started appearing.
"The hell happened?" I mumbled as I looked around.
"It's lucky that he didn't destroy the anti-power walls surrounding all of our cities. There's currently only one protection wall of a hundred left now." Callu cackled, dragging me up from the ground with an appreciated smile, "Welcome to the organisation, Zoomchard. It seems you're going to be a complete beast with your abilities." Callu laughed loudly.
"A beast with my abilities?" I repeated with an uneducated mind.
"Son, you are going to become an Angel of Telespeed, one of the strongest Super Speed and Telekinesis Users," Callu explained, patting my shoulders roughly.
Angel of Telespeed?
Angels are real…?

The Complete Alchemyst book 1
You've heard of superheroes, seen them flying across the sky, destroying great swaths of cities and ending countless innocent lives in order to defeat great evils and world-spanning threats and sell lots of sponsorships and merchandising opportunities. This is a story about the guy that is not those heroes. A supervillain in a world where making the right friends and political contacts is what separates the good guys from the bad. The Alchemyst is a story about a normal guy in a crazy world that spends his time trying to follow his dreams and conscience, working on new potions, thinking about girls, and lifting heavy shit, while trying to stay under the radar of the superheroes, supervillains, and governments that want what he can do. And occasionally turning them into makeshift melee weapons. If you enjoy The Boys, the Aberrant roleplaying game, Mystery Men, Trashy romances, Arnold Schwarzenegger movies, or SAW you may enjoy this book. Please note that this book has extremely graphic and sometimes gross fight scenes, heroes as villains, villains as heroes, opinionated and often politically incorrect characters, some graphic sex scenes, dad jokes, dirty jokes, realistic depictions of romance and flirting, bondage and dominance themes, and more than a few cuss words when they are really appropriate. This is NOT a superhero genre deconstruction. Many heroes truly are heroes, and they don't all need to be destroyed to make a good story, but it does look into the dark side of superpowers and the unreasonable and often contradictory demands placed on exceptional people.
