Before she can finish, the man cut her off.
"Zoe, i have a bomb strap on my chest and 1000 plus student here with me at Midtown high, but now i am in quite a pickle" The line fell silent and then erupt with the sound of yelling and emergency siren faintly in the background, before long a rough and stern voice start to speak.

"Nice to meet you Brian, but where Zoe"
"Sorry sir but she are new here and are unb..."
"Put her back on the line or i will start shooting" Silent fell, and then the officer simply said.

"Nice to meet you mister Bob"
"Good to have you back my dear" Taking a deep breath, looking at her boss and seeing he nod, Zoe start to talk.
"What is your demand sir?"
The man hums happily before speaking. "How much do you think a human live worth Zoe?"
"I don't know sir..."
"Me either Zoe, but a close approximates would be around 1 million i guess? So how much would an auditorium with 1000 people worth?"
"…1billion" Pleased, the man snap his finger, happily say.
"Correct, simple mathematics" "Sir, we cannot..!"

"Contact every bank in the city and tell the SWAT team gets ready, also someone gets the mayor on the god damn line"
"Sir, yes sir!" The officer all scramble to do their respective task, but one think that they all have in common is a thought.
'This damn terrorist bastard!' The man ends the call and throws the phone back at Charlotte, suck a deep breath then exhale.
"Haizz"
Looking at his action, Charlotte hesitantly asks. "Why are you doing this mister, u-um, Bob?"
Looking straight at her with his gaze he spat out. "Money"
At his answer Charlotte just shook her head and hesitantly says.
"Your eyes are not that of someone who want money desperately" Hearing her answer the man sneer.
"You can't judge a person just through their eyes, girl. That just some bullshit that cop tells you to get you to fess up."
"... Hum, my sixth sense is telling so too?" Dumbfounded the man sit there before giving a hearty laugh, grinning he ask.
"What are you? A psychic? Or a magician?" Annoyed Charlotte slightly angry reply.
"It never been wrong till today!" The man just rolled his eyes and disdainfully eyed at this 'psychic' hostage.
"And what does that have to do with you? Just obediently sit there and be a nice hostage, don’t make me give you another hole to breath!"
Before Charlotte can retort back to his mockery, the sound of police siren and rapid footstep is made outside the auditorium. Hearing this, Bob stand up with a broad smile on his face, expectantly rubbing his hand and said.
“Here come some sweet ransom"

Old Riding Author Lunatic Asylum
Just off the A19, in the dark, incomprehensible lands known as Yorkshire, there lies a town. A town where shadow-silent alleys glint with the secret hunger of knives. Where blood soaks the chipboard window shutters of forsaken terraces stretching off into the night. Where the smog-choked air rattles with the depraved laughter echoing out from clubs that can only generously be described as post-apocalyptic. Well, that’s Middlesbrough. But down the A19 a bit (an impossibly long way down, actually) there lies another town: Raughnen, in the ancient, forgotten Old Riding. It is an equal match in muggery and thuggery alike. It also has magic spells and pointy wizard hats. And now, across the miles and across all sensibilities, a pretty nasty power (a magic one) calls out for its pretty nasty counterpart (a decidedly unmagic one): a proper sound Boro lad. Nothing good can come of it. This is a collection of one novella and four connected short stories: I. A Yorkshire Summoning II. Old Riding Day Trip (the novella) III. Heaven is a Parmo IV. Death on the 66 V. Death on the 257 In total, this comprises 34 chapters totalling around 35,000 words, so try not to worry. It will be over relatively quickly. There are three more short stories with more tenuous links to the core collection: Rush, Paper Round and Scenario 79: Sausage Fingers, all of which can be found in my collection Short Records of Misadventure. Reading these may allow you to make more sense of certain parts of the story, if any sense is to be made at all. NOTE: There are instances of prejudice and discrimination within these stories, including elements of sexism and ageism, which are purely the thoughts and actions of the characters involved and which certainly do not reflect my own views on these matters. ANOTHER NOTE; A WARNING, PERHAPS: This can get a bit weird. In less than 150 pages, we have four viewpoints, first and third person narratives, and a completely disjointed plot with lots of gaps, dead ends and no real resolution. Also ZERO lunatic asylums. It's all a bit odd. If that sort of thing isn't your cup of tea, which it most likely isn't, it might be best to move on now.
