《Humanity's End》Chapter 11.4

Pain shot through her, pain like she had never felt before. Her world became consumed by it, though distantly she could hear the sounds of Peep screaming in agony as well. Whatever this class was doing to her, she was worried it would kill her.
Heart Of The Dragon, Activated. Beginning Alterations.
The pain lessened and Jessica could open her eyes slightly. What she saw nearly made her want to throw herself off the side of the deis. Scales, black, red, and dark green grew on her hands, arms, and legs.
Her legs snapped, and the pain shot through her body but in a muted way as if someone had given her morphine before breaking her shine bones and twisting them around. They fused back together and her legs were inverse, and long. Her toes sprouted dark obsidian talons, and her clothes ripped apart.
The pain and shortness of breath had been from her vest she realized, but sharp talons had ripped it to pieces. She found Peep curled around her legs, his body molding into a different shape. Molding, into . . . into hers.
He slithered under her scaly skin around her hip and up to her back. Seconds later bright green, purple, and orange feathered wings sprouted, and a beak as black as ebony, with teeth as wicked looking as crocodiles grew where her jaw line and skull had once been.
Mother, are you here?
Peep's voice was clear, unlike when she usually communicated with him telepathically. He usually sounded like they were talking on an old timey radio from two hills over.
Yes, I’m here, she sent back. Peep’s happiness flared and pure joy flooded Jessica. She opened her new maw and roared-shreaked to the sky telling all who would listen of their mutual joy. Of Peeps joy at finally, finally being able to protect his mother after months of being able to do nothing but shout and dumb baby dargons from the side lines and eat his mothers mana. Now, he could help.

Jessica grinned a wicked grin. She wasn’t sure she would need her spells.

But he was sure of one thing, that this was no ordinary imp. Deltrich who was already done with his introduction, saw Elijah looking at him in awe, puffed his chest up in pride. “I am sure there’s nothing you have that I want and nothing you can give that I desire”. Deltrich said choosing to break the atmosphere. “In other words, a deal which I’m sure would be satisfying to both parties” Elijah who wasn’t used to this type of situation scrunched his face up in frustration. He knew Deltrich,’ the Imp’ wasn’t his usual fantasy personage, so he decided to keep his mouth shut and listen to what Deltrich had to say. “In return, you shall ask me anything you want and I shall offer if it’s beneath my power”. Elijah still didn’t respond, instead, he waited for the creature to continue with its proposal after all it would be a miracle if it was easy but he knew there was no such thing as an easy way out, so he waited.............................................................................
