Chapter: 6 The Arena

The Seas were quiet, all Rick could hear was very soft noises, they blindfolded him, he had no idea where they were going, hours went by maybe days even, which felt like an eternity came to an abrupt end, as the blindfold gets ripped off his head, the light would blind Rick for a few seconds before he could vaguely make out that Jack was standing in front of him, while two other pirates were holding Rick tightly, ‘Wakey wakey’, he hears from Jack his mouth while his vision slowly adjusts to the light, as within an instant Rick got loose from the grip of the two pirates he rushes at Jack who just stood still smiling, as multiple men rush at Rick smashing him to the ground, as he hears Jack say, ‘Violence is forbidden, except in the arena, anyone who tries to fight in the open gets a punishment, but luckily for you, we sold you to the arena masters so they will have to take care of you now’, as Jack walks off, not even caring enough to look back.

As the men who rushed at him now grab him up, making him follow them to the arena, as Rick tried to struggle one of the men had enough and would knock him out with his bare fist, ‘That is enough out of you, for now, you newbie’, as they carry his knocked-out body inside the side room of the arena, laying him on one of the benches, as Rick was about to wake up they lock the room from the outside, as both men look inside, Rick rushed at the door, ‘Let me out! I got a family!’, the two men at the door started to laugh, ‘This will be your only family now’, as they lock the speaking hole in the door, both men soundly walk-off, Rick smashed against the door a few more times, before giving up, as he sits on the bench he thought about how he could escape, he whispers to himself, ‘I will escape… Maria, Vanessa, I will come back! I promised!’.

Out of nowhere the door opens, as one man enters he quietly comes closer to Rick who was looking furiously at the man in front of him, the man smiles toward Rick, ‘Ahh you must be the new guy, let me introduce myself, I am the teacher’, Rick still filled with emotions wanted to smash the head in of the man right in front of him, but since the old days he trained himself to restrain himself from acting on emotions, well this works mostly with people he does not know, so with Jack, it was useless trying it, since he clearly backstabbed him for the money, but this man what was he up too? Rick had to know more before beating him up if needed.

Rick sat straight up, ‘Why do they call you the teacher?’, the man almost as tall as Rick himself, looked old but he clearly was strong, he had muscles of steel, and a gray mustache, he would simply say, ‘Attack me, find out for yourself’, Rick was not impressed, ‘You want me to attack you old man?’, Rick slowly stood up, but within an instant, the man was right in front of him and laid him out straight on the floor, ‘Old man, Heh?’, that part clearly struck a wrong nerve, the man pulled Rick up who was a little confused on how fast that all went from sitting to standing to on the ground to being pulled up again and standing in front of the man once again, ‘Next time you call me old man, I will make you feel some real pain, well depending on if you survive the arena, to begin with…’.

Rick and the man after their little fight, if you can even call it that, clearly the older man was way stronger and more skilled than Rick was, we are talking about what had happened to him, and that this was very common at the place where he was now, but that he could not tell him the location specifically, he needed a way higher rank in the arena to be able to know that, but for those ranks, he should have to fight to earn it.
