it was in that glittering moment that a cavern had opened up

I was falling forever, time unmoving, unnecessary, and worthless

for that split second I could feel it all again

flashes of memory passing by me

sirens and cheering, peaceful silence and the horrible nothing after a fight

I bit my lip as hard as I could and tried to bring back any sense of reality

the taste of blood flooded me, and sudden, surging pain

like an ocean made of needles nestling into every part of me

and to nothing I returned
