《Natalia's Fairytale》Chapter 9

"OH MY GOD!!", my mother shrieks while cuing for me to do a little spin. She continues hyping me up, "You look so beautiful baby! You killin' that dress!"
"You look gorgeous baby", my father says more calmly as he shuts the door and give me a tight hug with a kiss on my cheek.
I thank them as we walk deeper into the living room and have a seat on the couch. "Oh before I forget. Daddy can you put this necklace on for me?", I ask as I hop up and grab the necklace off the dining room table. I face my back to my dad as he places the silver chain with a single ruby hanging from it on my neck.
"Oh yes baby that brings everything in perfectly!", my mother continues complementing me. We have some light conversation as we wait for the twins to get here. My father was in the back with my son doing whatever grandsons and papas do when the barrier alerts me of someone coming. I get up and go to the door checking my reflection in the mirror on the wall right by the door. I take a deep breathe to calm myself down and open the door.
My heart was not ready for the sight before me. "Lord please don't ever let me wake up from this dream.", I blurt out without thinking. I didn't even have enough braincells to be embarrassed for the forwardness.
Jacob was wearing an all black suit that was tailored to perfection on him with a black shirt underneath with the first two buttons undone and black dress shoes. His hair was down and disheveled like he couldn't keep his hands out of it. Add the dark bedroom eyes and the lord has prepared a beautiful death for me. I am then revived by Johnathon in what has to be a custom made black suit as well but with a deep red shirt that matched my heels. Looking like every bit of a handsome devil with his signature fade and man bun. You know what forget this date I'm going to send my son over to my parent's house and spend all night memorizing every inch of their skin.

The light hearted chuckle from one of God's greatest creations broke me out of my stupor. I awkwardly cleared my throat and checked for drool. "My apologies. Would you like to come in?", I ask once I came to my senses. "Of course", John answers with a knowing smirk.
"You look amazing by the way.", he adds as he walks in giving me a hug and kiss on the cheek.
Jacob agrees as he follows suit. The twins follow me to the living room where my parents are sitting looking around like they just got caught doing something they weren't suppose to be doing. Knowing them they were spying on us during that little exchange.
Choosing to ignore my parent's actions I begin introductions, "Mom and dad this is Jacob and Johnathon. Johnathon and Jacob these are my parents Silvia and Marcus Hathaway.". John and Jacob take turns shaking their hands and a little small talk proceeds. Of course my dad does not let them off the hook so easily, "So Jacob and Johnathon do you have a surname?"
"Yes sir. We are Jacob and Johnathon Joka.", Jacob answers without skipping a beat.
"Joka? Why does that name sound familiar?", my mother asks my dad as she looks up to him.
"Wait, y'all wouldn't be those Joka's would you?", my dad ask with a suspicious look at the two.
Johnathon chose to answer him, "Yes, sir. We are the Joka Corporation heirs. Well the sons at least." I could've swore I heard a little nervousness in his voice when he answered.
I dismiss it as a trick of the mind, because it's no way that the heirs to the most powerful family in this world would be nervous over the opinion of mere commoners. The room instantly grew tense and dense with intimidation aura once he confirms. The atmosphere is so thick that it causes me to stumble backwards a little bit almost falling over. I didn't think anyone noticed due to the intense stare off going on between them and my parents, but Jacob caught me around my waist before I could even begin to fall. This slip up seems to bring everyone back to reality as they all begin fussing over me and my clumsiness.

I take the opportunity of the mood change to end things so that we can head out. "Don't forget we are a phone call away.", my mom says with some slight urgency in her voice.
I attempt to calm her nerves and reassure her with the motto she engraved into me and my brother for years, "I know mama. No unnecessary risk."
My parents reluctantly lets us leave after that exchange. I grab my clutch on the way out the door and follow the twins to their car. An older gentlemen with tan weathered skin and a soft smile wearing a black suit and white shirt opens the back door to the car. John extended his hand out towards the opened door, "After you my lady." I smile politely as I take his extended hand and get in the back seat. Eventually I end up sandwiched between the two.
Both brothers seem to be distracted. I know this has something to do with what happened at my place. However, I look too good and took too much time prepping and stressing over this date to let it be ruined now. While I am curious to see what had my mother so shook up I know its not something I have to push. My mother was never known to hold her tongue for anyone and if I was in any danger she wouldn't have let me leave the house. I guess it's going to be up to me to save this date while I can, just thinking about it causes me to sigh deeply.
I close my eyes and take a deep breath. "You know I was so nervous earlier.", I start off slowly catching their attention and making them look at me. "I have really enjoyed getting to know you both these last couple of weeks. So I wanted this night to go really well. I'm not to sure what happened back there. From my parent's reaction I am guessing it's something that we will eventually have to talk about. But for now I hope we can put this aside and enjoy the rest of our evening.", I finish with a reassuring smile and a soft knee squeeze to a knee on each side of me.
John breaks the silence first, "You're right love.", he agrees with a warm and reassuring smile.
Jacob lets out a long breathe before finally giving in, "I was really worried the mood had been killed. I'm glad that you are willing to look past this. I think you will really like what we have planned and I didn't want this to ruin it for you."
My heart skips a beat and the butterflies in my stomach start to act up. "Thank you I look forward to see this surprise you guys worked so hard on.", I say with all sincerity. After that we were able to enjoy the rest of the ride to our destination talking about all kinds of randomness.
