《Hollow Moon》Chapter 8.3 Finn

Finn:
Finn ripped open his apartment door. Nyssa smiled sheepishly up at him through the sludge caked on her face. Finn sighed, resigned to Nyssa antics and stepped to the side to let her pass.
“What happened this time?” he asked, looking forlornly at the mud Nyssa was tracking down his hallway.
“There was a little incident at a graveyard involving only the smallest amounts of blood and gore.”
“Well, last time you were arrested so I’ll mark this down as an improvement.” Finn helped her out of her coat and tossed the ruined rag into the laundry. Nyssa removed her hat and scarf, avoiding eye contact with her brother. Finn noticed.
“Nyssa,” he blocked her path to the shower, “did you get arrested, again?” She shrugged, her eyes glued to his feet. “What am I going to do with you, young lady?”
Nyssa shrugged again, hiding her smile. He sounded exactly like their mother when he got like this.
“I’ll be out of your hair in a few days,” Nyssa offered. Finn pushed his glasses back up his nose.
“That isn’t necessary, Nys,” Finn began gathering up her dirty clothes and stuffing them in the washing machine. “You can stay here as long as you like, regardless of the havoc you wreak on my carpet. There is no way I’m getting my security deposit back at this point anyway.” Throughout the years, Nyssa’s painting and tendency towards explosive mess has ruined most of the walls and floors.
“Nah, the police incident will draw too much attention,” Nyssa kicked off her shoes. “I’ll need to be out of here in a few days, anyway.” Nyssa made a move towards the shower. Standing under a burning hot spray of water would feel heavenly after spending most of her night half frozen. Finn stopped her, grasping her shoulders and forcing her to look in his eyes.

“I’m worried, Nys,” he said, his boyish voice serious. “You are doing an awful lot of running, even for you.”
“I’m fine, Finn.” She waved away his concern.
“Do you even know what you are running from anymore?”
