《Hollow Moon》Chapter 4.1 Finn

Finn:
Finn was awoken by a familiar flutter of awareness in the back of his mind. He was up and out of bed before he was fully awake. His tiny apartment, the best he could afford in the middle of London, was plunged into darkness. It was almost midnight and he had work in the morning. Nyssa had better have a good reason for showing up at his door in the middle of the night.
“I’m coming, Nys-oof.” He ran into the kitchen bench trying to make his way to the door half asleep in the dark. He could hear Nyssa’s muffled laughing. He glared at the door, rubbing his bruised hip. Finn ripped open the door, forgetting about the chain lock in his haste.
“Bloody hell,” he muttered, shutting the door, unlocking it and opening it again. Nyssa was outright laughing by the time he got the damn door unbolted.
“Hey, bro,” she said with a little grin. She had a duffle bag slung over her shoulder and a suitcase by her feet. He threw his arms around her, tucking her under his chin. His sister hadn't visited since last christmas. He missed her.
“What are you doing here, Nys?” he said into her hair, pulling her into his apartment. She untangled herself from his grip, unslung her bag and threw it on the couch. Finn grabbed her suitcase from the hall and brought it inside.
“I ran into some trouble,” Nyssa said, throwing herself down next to her bag. Finn scoffed. Nyssa was always getting into trouble. “I thought I would lay low with my poor human relations for a while.”
Nyssa had been adopted by Finn’s mother when she was twelve. Finn had immediately fallen under the mad pre-teen’s spell and they had been as close as brother and sister ever since.
“You can bunk in the spare room.” He’d kept the tiny room unrented for just this situation. “I haven't touched it since the last time you pissed off someone bigger than you.”
Nyssa smiled up at him.
“Thanks, bro.”
I said it was short =) What do you think of Finn?

Steps of the Immortal Tree
Evan stood on a hill, staring calmly at the gate of his former clan. A crowd waited behind him, some eyeing the clan in an unresigned manner, others looking at their spiritual support. Some of the young children shivered at the gnawing cold. Wind howled in his ears, seemingly deploring his fate. A silvery cloud drifted over the mountains surrounding the compound. The roar of a river could be heard from underneath its frozen surface. He had reincarnated many years ago. Hailed as a prodigy from his youngest age, Evan had seemingly tread on a path to invincibility. He had gotten married with his childhood sweetheart and had cultivated with a group of friends, forming a considerable power of his own. Yet now, here he was, devoid of any path to move forward, with his energy locus destroyed. His wife was dead and his branch had been kicked out of the clan. He looked at his progeny that had been entrusted to him. The baby seemed content in his father’s strong arms, too young to understand anything but the warmth of the father’s beating heart. Signaling to the people behind him, he turned around and the procession gradually disappeared in the distance, as the sun gradually set and the stars acted as a guide. --- Author-san here.
