Chapter 4 – Thievery
The town of Tal has white dots falling from above. This particular dot slowly paints the town roads with the color white. Everyone who walks around the town would find themselves seeing their breaths. Everyone wears thicker clothing, except for the lesser ones.
Particularly this time of the year, many would stock up. The weather would become harsh to the point that some dies due to the freezing wind. It is a lot worse for the poorer individuals of the town. They would find it hard to survive the weather, in addition, is that a lot dies during this time of year.
So for the beggars of the slums, it is a worrying matter. They didn’t expect that the weather would turn cold this fast. So at the moment the beggars kind of united, went to the woods around the town to get something warm. They had their way to somehow cut the trees. In fact, they resulted to thievery just to get the right tools. It took a while for them to do this, as well as pull it off.
In the town, there is a place where tools are bought. Axes, pickaxes, shovel, knives, everything can be brought in this store. There are others like this store, but this store had a rather great location so most people would just go here. The quality of the tools is also great so there was nothing to complain.
The Beggars of the slums choose this place to rob. It was in the middle of the night when they did the job. No one witnessed other than the owner of the shop himself. But since the owner of the shop was alone at that time, along with seeing all his precious merchandise being stolen by the beggars. The owner took up his sword, tried to fend off the beggars only to be overwhelmed by the beggars and killed in cold blood.

The accident became known to the town. Of course, without any allies or friends, the dumb mute was excluded to the unification of the beggars to survive. So he got a bit leeway when the soldiers arrive in the slums which then proceed to kill the beggars. Usually, they would reprimand the beggars, or just capture them. But the Lord of the Town thought this was a good idea to get rid of the slum problem.
Thus they killed the beggars with no mercy. The women and children were captured, the old ones killed. Ramiel who was considered as a dumb mute watched as the slaughter happen. He hid in his makeshift home and watch as everyone screamed in agony at their death.
Tears were rolling on the dumb mute’s eyes. He could not believe what was happening, and he could not stomach such slaughter. He held his place though, not even letting any strange of his hair get out of the way. He got excluded, but with the slaughter happening, he would be surely killed. That is why when he got spotted by one of the soldiers, he was fired an arrow at and got his sides torn up.
Ramiel was shocked. He screamed in pain, agonized but nonetheless stood up. Ran out of the slums, and hid in an alleyway near the main streets of the town. Blood poured out of his sides, his lips shaking, shoulders trembling. Ramiel’s face contorted due to the holy pain he is feeling. He manages to suppress the blood by putting pressure on it. But even so, he is still losing blood due to not being good at covering his wounds.
He felt his strength drain. He is in shock, his adrenaline is pumping to the point it keeps him alive, his heavily breathing, pale as white as the ones scattered on the road of the town. His eyes are half closed, his vision is blurry, and breathing seems like a tiresome thing to do.

Ramiel’s hand constantly shivers while feeling the unholy pain. Tears are coming out of his face, and his words would mutter the name of his mother.
Mother, help me. I want to go home.
Sincerely he said it to heart. Ramiel thinks that he is going to die here. And with death coming for him, his thoughts were that of his mother. It is normal to think of his own mother and family at the time of his death. Ramiel felt like giving up here, hence the pain convinces him to close his for good.
But despite all of that pain, Ramiel struggled to open his eyes. Trying to breathe steadily, keeping himself awake. Ramiel didn’t want to die. He is calling his mom, his family, but even so, he doesn’t want to die just like that. That is why he keeps his face straight.
His sobbing echoes through the streets. And as he sobs, a person wearing a robe with a cloak around her heard the sob. The person carries a sword on her thin waist. Searching for the source of the sobbing, she found the dumb mute with a wound on his side. The woman could not help but look at the young man with a bit of a frown on her face. Walking to the young man, she kneeled on the ground, adjusted her robe a bit, and looked at the wound of the young man.
Ramiel gave a weak glance at the person that appeared in front of him. A beautiful person with golden locks, a chiseled face, jeweled blue eyes, with a quite a fleshy mound on her chest. The woman was quite beautiful and looking at the woman made Ramiel feel a bit of tug in his heart.
The woman saw how the young man looked at her in the corner of her eyes but ignored it. She then extended her hand towards the young man’s wound and her hand glowed light yellow. As it glows, the wound of the young man slowly closes up. He felt the wound closing, and his face contorted in pain.

Queer Tales From A Street Nominally Associated With Your Reality
The street is not from your world, and yet it's attached, clinging like a shadowy limpet to the edge of your London, your city skyline stabbing into it from above. Or well that's what we tell ourselves, no one who lives here really knows. We are after all just regular folk displaced from our original realities. Just a bunch of folks with queer tales from a street nominally associated with your reality. What to expect: - A series of interlinked short stories gradually unpacking the lives, complications and mysteries associated with those who live in the street - A weird pseudo-British setting where physics works inconsistently, and houses move position regularly - Stories filled with LGBTQ+ characters, and in particular ones on the trans/nonbinary spectrum - Potentially iffy grammar, I'm new to publishing my work online, so whilst I am checking things before posting it’s a near certainty that some things will slip through - A schedule of one chapter every two weeks.
