Chapter 11 The day was truly merciless as it began pouring down. Demons are all fleeing for their life. They start to gather towards the stronger ones that can repel the faceless nightmares. The most popular refugee for these escapees is the southeast abandoned fortress. he name was Grewal fortress.3 As of now, it became the gathering of all shapes and sizes of various demons. At first, there was chaos within their ranks. All them come from different race and places. Despite that, the threat of the hunters proved to be more significant. All them decided st work together and try to survive longer. The leader of this newly establish safe haven is called Leon. As his name suggests, he is from the tribe with a true feline blood-line. He has a red mane and a fierce lion head with eleven eagle wings behind his back. He also has a tail which would seem to look like a spiked mace and it makes a clinking sound as it hits the ground as it moves. Leon is originally a territorial person. He would not tolerate anyone inside his marked territory. What is happening in this new world though made him reconsider his view of things. He was already attacked for a few times and he can fend them off easily. The problem is that they keep on coming to him endlessly. He got no time to finally hunt after getting locked up for a few thousand years. Just when he was going for the kill, a bunch of faceless humanoid creature attacked him. In the end, the prey he was going after escaped. He was alone to deal with the nearly invincible faceless hunters. From that day, he tolerated other demons seeking refugee as long as they earn their keep. They just need to keep those freaks away from him when he wanted to hunt. Leon spends his day fighting these faceless hunters. When he wants to hunt, then the other demons in the new fortress would cover him up so he could freely hunt. The only good thing is that the faceless hunters seem to not be interested in the small preys around the fortress. Because of this, the demons have a way in sustaining themselves. Today is finally the day where Leon can hunt. His tail has already smashed a few pillar along the way unintentionally. Fortunately, the other sensible demon in the fortress already expects something like that to happen. They reinforced the pillar with magic. He was truly excited as it has already been a week since he went out of the fortress and hunt. Leon stealthily walk out of the fortress and head to the western lush forest. He was expecting something good and agile to prolong the hunt. So far, the best prey he got was an agile deer with freakishly strong ramming attack. It was nearly at the border of magic beast and it was fast to escape. He is smiling as he recalls the memory of him chasing that delicious prey. He silently walked inside the forest without giving out his overwhelming presence. He was a bit irked as there are no animals around which was totally unexpected with how wealthy the forest is. “What’s wrong with the forest?” He was a bit angry as he was not picking up anything. It was like the forest suddenly become a dead spot. He walked for a few hours without finding anything aside from frogs and bugs with the size of a palm. For a prideful being as him, it was below insulting to hunt those kinds of animals. He was furious as he let out a roar out of anger and started to roam the forest without bothering to hide his presence. He was smashing trees as he walks with his tail. Trees fell one after another and making huge sounds as it fell. Even with that much, he still can’t hear any sounds of startled animals anywhere. “Be sure to hide from me… Whoever did this… I will not forgive absolutely.” One can literally see the fumes coming from his nose and his eyes are bloodshot. His rage meter filled out already but he finally managed to feel something ahead. He followed the trail ahead and he was now facing a simple and a bit hidden cave. He can feel something inside. He was sure that this one is the one responsible for the absence of prey along the forest. A hunter never over hunts! Leon tilted his head from side to side and made cracking noise. He then proceeds to walk towards the cave with careful steps. He was not sure if the being inside is powerful but as a lion himself, he hunts with all he has even when hunting rabbits. When he was nearer, he felt the radiating power of the one inside. He was surprised since the being is nearly at fourteenth rank with just a little step. He raised his guards and when he saw what creature is injured, he was dumbstruck. “What the…” he was already in a poise to pounce and rip apart the creature. The one responsible for the absence of preys but when he saw who it was, his face started to twitch. Leon was staring at someone of the same feline race as he was. The creature seems to be recuperating. A bandage was wrapped around the left arm of the said creature. He was a tough guy but as he looks towards the feline in his front, he was truly smashed. In simple terms, he was having the love struck look in his face. “What a beautiful fur… oh… who hurt this little one?” he was walking closer and soon the creature in question woke up and stared at him. The golden irises which was the trade mark of the feline race seem to be a bit different. The one that stares at Leon has a bit of greenish tint on them indicating that the one in front of him was from a mixed race. He was a bit stumped on what to say or do as he remained in his place. He does not know what is happening as mind was in total melt down. He was looking at the face of the female feline mix in his front and somehow deep dark feelings started to arise in him. He never had a mate before since almost everybody in the planar prison was a nut-crack. They can only remain outside their cages for 24 hours every 300 years. In those periods, feelings of romance and hate will dissolve as time passes. Now that he was out of the prison, he can hunt; he was thinking that maybe it is also the time to find a mate. “Dude… you look stupid.” The voice of the female resounded and once again the clarity in his eyes returned. He wanted to look cool in front of the female but his earlier stupid look was the first thing the female noticed in him. Now he was in a dilemma on how to appeal to this beautiful beast. “Uh… you overhunt.” Really? That is the first thing you can say? Leon was screaming in his mind on how stupid he might look now. “Oh… I was a bit hungry since those freaks kept on chasing me.” The feline stood up and checked her left arm. Leon noticed now that the female in front of him have four arms. It was a bit weird for him but since he saw creatures that have many more arms and limbs in the past, some weird words did not come out from his mouth. He was silent on how to answer back to the one in front of him. He was out of his prideful and haughty attitude. He watch as the feline ripped the bandage apart and cast simple healing spell. Then the female started to move the arm to check if there is something wrong. After a few moments, the female finally place her attention towards Leon and a smirk was plastered on her face. “Why is a big bad lion in my house?” “House?” Leon was a bit puzzled. “You call this a house?” “What? Not up to your standards?” The female suddenly had that mischievous grin on her face. Leon fell into a more awkward position and he was biting his tongue to stop talking random things. The feline lost interest in the end and start to walk away. Leon watched as the feline passed him and leaped into the air. Suddenly, tails started to sprout from the back of the feline and it numbers eleven. He was amazed on how random the characteristics of the feline. She has four arms and eleven tails which looks like that of a fox. He watched as the female disappeared into the woods and he was left inside a random cave. “What just happened?” Leon was planted on his feet as he was looking at the lush forest. “Wait… I need to find that feline lady!” Leon quickly got on fours and started to run like a true beast. His body might not be the same as the one of the true lion. He resembles that of a human but he grew up in an environment which only runs in fours. If he was in need of quick burst of speed he was doing it this way. Leon crashed with trees as he continue to run inside the forest. He just found the possible mate he always dreams on having. He was determined to win this sexy beast whatever it takes. Celine Von Grace I just woke up and I see this stupid looking lion in front of my cozy place. I mean it was my mistake as I slept so deep and did not manage to set up precautionary measures but dude come on. When I was done inspecting my injured arm, I quickly left the cave. I am not planning on returning there anytime soon. I want to roam around the world! I wanted to go to places where no one has reached in the past. I quickly leaped into the branches of the tree and let my tails out. It’s been ages since I was able to let them out. The prison was truly hell for me since I can’t walk and explore. I am thankful for whoever created that small rift and sent me to this new world. Now that we are talking about the new world, I find this one truly primitive. I don’t mean it to be a backward one but the kind of untouched world. The inhabitants of this world surely love to crowd together and claim territories so that might be the reason. The only trouble in this world is that psychotic guy. He was sending his minions to hunt all the escapees from the prison. I wonder if he was tasked by the warden. Oh! Dude… I hate that warden by the way. He was such a stiff guy that does not know how to have a good time. What is wrong with trying to walk the stairways to heaven? He should have not made it in the first place if he would declare that it was of limits. Well my wander lust is also at fault for sneaking my way in and met a woman with a blinding light in her face. I wonder who she was. The place crumbled after that moment and the next thing I know, I was inside the planar prison being scolded harshly by the warden. I wonder how long I spent there in captivity. I was sure that I heard the warden’s voice before I stepped into the rift but who cares about that stiff guy! I want to discover the wonders of this new world. I should search the stairs of heaven again for fun. No… maybe not. I don’t want to see the face of that old foggy again. Though I wanted to see who that female back then. She looks very different and I feel out of breath just by being near her. That one looks strong. I leaped on a branched and jumped into a deer and bit down its neck. Blood was flowing and so I pinned it down and let it bleed to death. I have this bad habit of biting the neck of my prey but I don’t like the taste of blood. In the end, I am leaving them to bleed to death as I restrain them. When the deer was not wildly twitching anymore, I made a fire with the nearby littered wood. I sliced the meat by my claws as I cast magic on them. I wonder since when I learned to cast those kinds of magic. Somehow those memories are surfacing on their own. I don’t have any clue since I woke up one day surrounded by countless remains of monsters. The next thing I know, I am wandering around and hunting prey. “This will be more fun if only there is no nuisance like those freaky faceless monsters chasing my ass.” I bit down on the meat which was lightly cooked. I wonder if they can find me again since I saw them being destroyed by someone. Now that you mention it, I presumptuously asked for his aide since I was battling them for a few weeks already. I am tired back then. Good thing is that he's strong and he has this chilling aura around him so I talked my way out. I wonder who that freakishly strong guy is. Ha ha, I smiled as I remembered his face when I made my exit. It was a mixture of shock and disappointment. I wonder what he is expecting for me to do. He was a bit cool now that you mention it but he was a bit stiff with the way he talks. “That was a no fun guy definitely. He doesn’t even know the buddy rule.” I bit down the meat after the meat was giving off really nice smell. I somehow get the feeling that someone was trying to track me and I guess it was the stupid looking big cat earlier. I made my lunch time quicker as I devoured the meat that was barely cooked. I stood up after patting the full belly of mine. “Kyah… I love wandering with a full stomach.” I extinguished the fire that I made and threw the skewer sticks I made when roasting the meat of the deer. I think that leaving them here would somehow discredit the wealthy forest. I don’t know what that even means but I think it is bad ok? I don’t have any luggage so I am the definition of mobile. I leap into the branches as fast as I can and made sure to leave the least track as possible. Why the heck is this happening dude? I disposed of the faceless freaks and now I have a big lunk of muscle head after my ass. My head is starting to ache. I somehow hasten my movement and not try to cover up my tracks and let myself be away from here. I cast the self-boosting magic and dashed into the air like I am flying. I am actually just propelling myself indiscriminately. My tails helps gliding. If I somehow made a mistake then I would be flying towards the sky or dive head on into the ground. I don’t know flying magic and I definitely don’t want one since that would spoil exploration. So in the end, I only do this if I am running. I seldom use this trick since there are only a few beings that can force me to flee. So far the warden is one and maybe the stiff guy too if one day he decided to pursue me. I wonder why he would pursue me at all but it was just an idea. After a few minutes of running away which totally eludes me why I am doing this. I can overpower that dude if I use the help of my tails but I somehow find that it was silly. I would get more trouble by stopping. Maybe that was it so I am moving way faster. When I am out of the area, I finally stopped. I was a bit gasping for breath since it has been a while since I used that trick. “Ah… my poor back…” I tried to stretch my body from side to side and some little cracking sounds resounded. “Feels absolute bliss.” “Now where are we going…?” I looked around to decide which direction I should go. “Not that it would be a problem where I will go anyways.” I closed my eyes and started to turn around. After ten seconds of mental counting, I stopped and opened my eyes. “I guess it is towards the east then.” I dashed in the air once again. I heard that it was the lands of the wood dwellers. Some people I talked to said that they hated humanity so much. I am not one and I guess I can explore their lands as long as I don’t make troubles for them. I hope that they would be sensible dudes and gals. My body is trembling as I start to advance. I think my body is doing the same thing once again. It is my first exploration after being locked up by stiff warden. My lips started to loosen up and started to form a smile on their own. “For a world walker like me… this is the best!”
