《A Different Kind of Hero (-)》Chapter 1: It Just Keeps Getting Worse, Huh?

Everyone simply looked towards the man dressed in white. He had a warm aura around him. Something that a mother might give off. Something - loving.
Lucas only felt this way whenever Alyssa cared for him, so to have this feeling once again bless him it was remarkable. However, that moment of soothing calm was brief.
"I'm sure you must all be confused, but worry not. I mean you all no harm, and even if you didn't believe me I don't suppose an old man such as myself could stand up to all of you by myself, haha!" (Mysterious Pope)
The classmates were still confused. Some were scared, while others just had no words to say about the current situation.
"Well then, please follow me and I'll explain everything." (Mysterious Pope)
Most of the guys got up and followed the pope. Some of the girls followed as well, but around half of the class stayed.
The word "heroes" shook in everyone's mind. Especially Lucas.
Heroes? This could be his break. He could finally be free of being the weak runt of the litter. He could finally be respected. This of course was if this was anything like those mangas he loved to read where a 'Hero' was summoned to defeat a demon lord.
Lucas was one of the last people to start following the pope. Not because he didn't want to, but he was just thrashed all over the place and his body was sore.
Soon, all of the students including the teacher who got mixed in the situation were all following the pope.
"Uhm.. Excuse me? Where exactly are we?" (Ms. Ream)
Ms. Ream, the teacher, was the first to directly question the mysterious man leading them in front of the king. This was most likely because of her age difference between to students, but nevertheless suddenly teleporting must have taken its toll on her.

A few seconds went by before there was a reply. The pope stopped when he was in front of the stairs of the king's throne. Then, he pointed towards the king.
"Welcome, heroes. I am sure you must all be confused, but please relax as I explain everything." (King)
Everyone simply looked up at the king, still in denial of the situation but somehow calm.
"The word 'heroes' must be the most confusing, but simply put: we are in dire need of your assistance. This is the world of Arigon, and the demons have been attacking the humans since the ancient times. The Goddess of the Sun, Illia, has been trying to protect us but she can only give her blessings to the heroes that are summoned. There have been heroes in the past that have been summoned but none have been successful in completely ridding the earth of the demons. The Goddess of the moon, Monalee, who is the sister of Illia has been at war trying to destroy the humans.
You were all summoned so that you could finally help raise humanity to its rightful place. Each of you will be given a tablet. These tablets will show you a status. Just so you are aware, a normal foot soldier's stats are around the 100s range at lv50.
Please take a look at your statuses and blessings. They will help you understand your strengths." (King)
Once the king was finished with his speech, before any of us were able to reply were were handed what looked like a driver's license. The only difference was that everything was blank.
"Please place your right hand over the cards. It will activate and show you everything you need to know." (Pope)
Josh, as the cocky bastard he is, is the first to do this. Once he does, a soft light shows and it looks almost like a 3d screen popped up. On the screen was the following:

======================
Name: Josh
Level: 1
Occupation: Hero
Role: Leader
Blessing: 'The Rage of a God' from Illia, the Sun Goddess
Strength: 250
Speed: 160
Vitality: 210
Endurance: 240
Magic Power: 80
Stamina: 180
======================
A cheering came from the people surrounding us. The people none of us realized were there until just now. We were too focused on the situation at hand to even think to look around.
Josh showed a smirk on his face.
"Level 1 with stats averaging over 200, truly magnificent! These stats are much better than our last heroes!" (King)
"We truly might finally be ridden of the evil demons at this rate! Considering a normal man's stats increase around 2 per level, you'll probably get around 10 or more!" (Pope)
Everyone was congratulating Josh like he was some sort of... oh wait.. hero.
Anyway, the next person to activate the card was Susan, one of the girls who liked Josh.
======================
Name: Susan
Level: 1
Occupation: Hero
Role: Healer
Blessing: 'Peace of Nature' from Illia, the Sun Goddess
Strength: 140
Speed: 190
Vitality: 210
Endurance: 220
Magic Power: 310
Stamina: 130
======================
The crowd once again roared.
From the conversations going around, it seems like the last heroes to visit this world had stats averaging 80 at lv 1.
After that, various people activated their cards. The only other one I took interest in was Alyssa's.
======================
Name: Alyssa
Level: 1
Occupation: Hero
Role: Healer
Blessing: 'Relentless Nurturing' from Illia, the Sun Goddess
Strength: 110
Speed: 210
Vitality: 200
Endurance: 150
Magic Power: 350
Stamina: 230
======================
'Of course she has something like that...' was a thought that popped into my head. It only seemed natural that someone as forgiving and nurturing as her would have a blessing such as that.
Well, I think it's about time for me to see what I have.
Everyone was done looking at their stats except for me, and for the few people that realized I was the only one left they laughed and snickered. They obviously didn't expect much from some 'low life' like me.
This was my time to shine, and I could finally prove them all wrong. I wondered which blessing I would get. Maybe I would get stats that completely dwarfed Josh's. That would be awesome.
Let's see what I have!
======================
Name: Lucas
Level: 1
Occupation: Bystander
Role: N/A
Blessing: N/A
Strength: 5
Speed: 10
Vitality: 40
Endurance: 170
Magic Power: 1
Stamina: 35
======================
The entire hall went silent.
*If anyone knows how to use those tables, can someone help me out with a reply? Or if there is a link to a guide? Thanks a bunch. :)

"It's funny that you think the choice is up to you babydoll." Delrick's icy tone sends chills through my core. All I can do is back up in an attempt to escape, seemingly running into a wall. Though as rough hands circle their way around my waist I knew it was Dominic that was holding me. "When in reality you have no control at all." My head snaps to the voice belonging to the youngest of the Valentine brothers, Dalton, as he makes his way towards me. Dominic's hand wraps around my throat possessively making me arch my back into him. This gives Delrick clear access to my lips as I look up at him, in which he wastes no time. His lips meet my own hungrily. "Who do you belong to Annalise." Dalton gathers my blonde hair into his hand, tugging making me break my kiss. "Daddies."***Cover made by @brookecastellan10***

My father scolds me sharply. I flinch at the anger in his voice and quickly retract my hand, inches from the trunk of the tree. "Sorry father, I couldn't help it. The trees are just so beautiful," I whine turning towards him. His face softens slightly and he scoops me up into his muscled arms. I wrap my small arms around his neck and bury my face into his shoulder. He hugs me tightly and carries me away from the forest. "Why can't we go into the forest?" I ask, looking over his shoulder to see the red and gold leaves slowly disappear from view as we climb the hill. "The forest is a dangerous place," he sighs. "How can something so beautiful be so dangerous?" I mutter in confusion. "The danger is in its beauty."**Cover by SodaliteSilver**
