《Cowboy, Reborn.》New Life 2

Hilton boys home, getting up off his new bunk bed, Tom was elated. he was brought in during the night so the place was still new to him. Landing on the wooden floor, Tom smiled.
The beds better then the dirt ground that he had gotten used to. While on the run most of his nights were spent on the dirt floor next to a fire.
"Yo!" Turning to the other side of the room Tom noticed another kid.
The kid was relaxed with his legs wide open and his arms spread across the top of the couch like he had two women under them. His eyes were glued focused upon a large TV screen.
The most distinct feature of the kid, had to be the crevices much like the moon on both sides of his cheeks.
"Did you really kill someone?" The kid asked, eyes still glued to the TV.
Shrugging Tom answered."Yeah, but in self defense.
"Did you end up having nightmares like on the shows, seeing there faces over and over again?.
Thinking again, Tom did have nightmares for months after killing his mum's friend. Everyone knew that she had a big mouth, Tom knew this himself. That regret certainly brought horrible nightmares.
" I'm sorry. I'd rather not say.
After saying those words the kid finally turned and faced Tom. Standing up he smiled and reached out a hand.
" Hey, you can call me Leo. You seem more mature than what you look.
Hearing his words, Tom made a mental note to try and act more like the age of a 15 year old.
Shaking his hand in response, Tom replied. "Theo, nice to meet you."
"Yeah likewise, you wanna tour around this place. Go see Sammy in the next room he'll show you around.
Recklessly throwing himself backwards, Leo rejoined his imprinted mold upon the couch and giggled to himself while looking towards the TV like nothing happened.
Knocking on a open door a shorter kid laying on his bunk bed turned his head away from his book. Sighing, he went towards a wardrobe and put on a jersey.

As he brushed past Tom in an exaggerated way he harrumphed.
Stopping he turned around waiting and glaring at Tom.
"Hurry the fuck up, I'll show you around.
"Sammy I presume... Tom asked in resignation.
"Yeah, sure am. You don't need to introduce yourself you were all over the news. I mean what the fuck is wrong with this place, putting a killer in the room next door.
Sammy was small and loud, he had black wavy hair and olive skin. He casually used his hands to gesture when he wanted to swear. Tom had a friend like this back in his lifetime, bossy boy, he always had something to prove and although he was a dick at times, at least he was honest.
Hiding his grin he quickened his pace to catchup with Sammy.
While they started walking, Sammy stopped by Toms room.
"Leo, why the fuck can't you show the new kid around you lazy fuck.
Eyes stuck in there usual spot Leo replied.
"Just this one time I promise, my shows on. Honest to god, I'll make it up to you."
Nostrils flaring Sammy continued.
"I'm getting your ice cream tonight then.
Before Leo could reply Sammy had stormed off.
Starting the tour Sammy showed Tom around the place.
The building gave off a hospital vibe, the first place they went to was the dining room it was about the size of a school hall.
It was used as the hangout area and where breakfast, lunch and dinner would be served. The room was surrounded by windows and a sliding door leading to a deck. Right in the middle of the room were two long narrow dining tables covered in more than a dozen chairs . The wooden table had carved in names and penises
The second place Sammy took Tom to was the Ablution area. It had two toilet cubicles, five shower cubicles, a metal urinal for multiple people, 4 sinks and a large mirror across one side of the wall. To Tom's surprise, the place also looked spotless. Before leaving the area Sammy mentioned to Tom as a reminder to massacre babies in the shower not in the room. Trying to recall a memory of what that meant, Tom ended up getting nowhere. Wanting to know what it meant he reminded himself to ask Leo about it later.

Avoiding the kitchen Sammy explained that only caretakers and picked out kids were allowed to be in there. Further in detail he mentioned kids allowed in, had perks but doing the dishes was in his words. "fucken slave labor".
The last place they went was outside, further out amongst some bushes.
Whipping out a smoke, Sammy started to light one end of his tobacco stick.
Reaching out he shook the packet of smokes towards Tom. "Want one.
Without a thought Tom grabbed two, but when he offered a lighter, Tom just waved him off.
"I'm fine, I don't need one right now.
Placing the smokes in his pockets, Tom tried to make some small talk.
"How do you and Leo, know each other?
"Haha, you really don't know do you?
Intrigued Tom shook his head."Well me and Leo used to be roommates, until one day I was sick of his shit. I thought I'd turn off that fucken TV, but to my surprise the lazy fucker can throw a good right hook. He layed me out clean.
"My brother offered to help out, but I don't roll like that. We stopped talking for awhile after that and then we just started talking again. After that situation though, we were the only kids placed with our own rooms.
Putting out his smoke, Sammy threw the smoke in a man made hole in one of the trees.
Walking off he mentioned it was around breakfast time.
Sitting next to Sammy at the table a caretaker said grace. Toms mother always said grace before they had a meal, Tom hadn't had the time to do so while on the run, or rather he hadn't given it the thought.
There had bowls and plates across one table fulled with a variety of foods. There was a orderly line of kids with plates heading towards the table.
There was a variety of things to eat, like a pick your fancy, kinda meal. Moving in line Tom picked eggs on toast and Sammy grabbed oats and yogurt.
Tom hadn't eaten in awhile so he demolished his meal.
After the meal Tom ended up headed with Sammy back to his room. When they got back to his room Sammy mentioned that he always reminded Leo to go for breakfast and forgot to mention it this time through.
Seeing Leo walking away faced towards the TV, kinda reminded Tom of a crab walking backwards and sideways unable to turn its head.
Noticing Sammy chuckle, Tom wondered if he was having the same thought.
Blending in, Tom started getting used to the routine. letting time pass by, Tom watched TV with Leo until lunch.
After lunch Tom done some exercise outside, running, push ups and sit ups. Tom hated the feeling of anyone and everyone being able to push him over like a twig.
During his days on the run through life and death situations he somehow managed to get a well toned body, unlike the scrawny twig he was today.
During dinner, Tom had his first taste of ice cream, he could see why Sammy would want Ice cream in exchange for showing him around.
Although Theos memories were vivid and as clear as day, nothing could explain how amazing Ice cream tasted.
After dinner Tom went straight to bed, well not before Leo started talking away.
"Theo.
Sighing Tom replied,"Yeah?
"I like to sleep with the TV on.
Tom rolled his eyes of course he does.
Tom was to tired to notice it when he first came in, but with the help of his perfect memorie he did recall it being on.
Recalling something else Tom replied.
"Hey Leo, what does massacring babies in the shower mean?

A King in the Clouds
Tanlar. A cruel, repulsive, and foul word. It meant untitled, officially, but it also meant ungifted, unable, unworthy, unnecessary, unhuman.
