《The Survivor》The Tour

Finally, I was being released from the hospital, but still basically under lock and key. For nearly a century I wanted to be around people again, and now that I am, walking along the public boulevard; I want nothing more than to be back on the ship with the familiar faces, and the events that shaped my memories. Miss Fern and one of her cameras is following me, I gave her permission, but it's still strange that I'm a short-term celebrity at the moment.

all because I did the one thing that nobody else aboard my cruise did: survive.

its not like today doesn't have a purpose, it does, but I've felt as though I've been gone a long, long time; and in reality, only a year passed.

but in that year, teenager's mindsets changed, lingo that I've never heard enters my ears; articles of clothing these people are wearing today, they would have thought hideous, ridiculous, stupid, or any number of other things used to describe the unfashionable. Machines that were barely in prototyping to assist companies, and reduce labor costs, are now at every street corner, and every reception desk behind the plate glass windows.

music, and bands I've never heard of are on repeat all over the station I listened to most of my youth, and I recognize almost none of the hit songs; making me feel even more out of place in a city that rejected me after grandma's passing.

I walk into an old hangout of mine, the hair stylist, and am quickly set upon by my best friend from high-school.

"Ashley! Where in the nine hells have you been!?" She nearly shouts.

"In the eighth one." I replied, I was only partially joking. "But I got my name changed a while back as part of grandma's will. I'm now called Trillion." At my statement, every pair of sheers, every blow dryer, and the hum of conversation stopped.

Delana's expression faltered slightly, then asked the obvious question; "so you're 'the' Trillion? The one that landed a spaceship in the sound two and half months ago?" She seemed to just now see the news camera. "Sit your happy ass in my chair. This one is on me." She grins mischievously. "And I know, no changes, same cut you always get."

"thanks Delana."
