《Quicksword Bob》Chapter 41 - I'm listening

Bob quickly agreed to their request, if all went well and he could have a chat with Kureha then maybe, just maybe Bob could do something unheard of in the One Piece world.
In this world, there are tons of doctors, but they are scattered around the world. There is no certain place a person could go to if they were injured or sick. What Bob wanted to do was make that happen. He wanted to open up a hospital.
It'd start out small, with just one on a large island. Then slowly expand.
People with devil fruit abilities that had healing power would be sought after, but that wouldn't stop Bob from hiring others as well. There are those who use knowledge to heal their patients. Kureha was over a hundred years old right now, so her wisdom was large.
As long as she agreed, Bob could find some people to be her students. They'd open up a hospital and patients would come rolling in.
Bob was thinking if she should charge them for their services or not. He could have them come to the hospital for free, allowing for a wide selection of people to pay them attention. He could also charge them a flat fee.
Bob was also debating if he should try a health insurance plan. There were many options, but now wasn't the time to think about it.
Bob traveled to the east side where the forest was. The forest itself wasn't hard to find as there was no way anyone would miss it. Due to the amount of trees.
Bob entered the forest and started searching for a cave.
He wondered if he'd see some sort of snowman, like a Yeti. Would be interesting if he did.
"Grrr…"
Bob heard growling nearby and saw one snow white wolf come out. It was fairly large compared to the type in his previous world.

Coming out from behind the trees were other wolves, Bob counted at least 30 of them.
Bob thought of something, and growled back at the beast.
The wolves came closer, seeming to be annoyed at Bob.
"So that didn't work? Then let's try something else."
Bob spotted the largest wolf and his body seemed to flicker as he appeared in front of it. He threw downward punch causing the wolf to collapse.
The other wolves looked at Bob, then at the large wolf. The large wolf wasn't moving.
Bob looked at the other wolves and stared hard at them.
"Who's next?"
None of the wolves moved, instead they retreated.
"Thought so."
Bob started walking past the other wolves, and soon he found the cave. It was filled with a glowing blue light.
Bob entered the cave and found the reason for the glow, it was a large patch of flowers. They had clear petals, but in the inside where the pollen was supposed to be was a blue gem like item. It was glowing.
"Guessing this is it."
Bob said as he started picking the flowers. He didn't stop at one, instead he grabbed ten of them and left the rest alone.
Bob left the cave and ran back to Cocoa Weed Village.
He was gone for less than thirty minutes, so it was a surprise to the others when he returned so quickly.
"Did you give up?"
The man asked, but as soon as Bob showed him the flower his eyes lit up.
"Oh my! How in the world did you get these?"
"Those wolves were child's play, it wasn't much."
The man looked at Bob and smiled.
"Amazing! You're cool and strong!"
Bob rubbed the back of his head.
"I know, I know but please continue with the praise."

"Next time, can I get one of those flowers?"
"Sure. Where did the doctor go?"
As the man grabbed a flower from Bob he pointed at a house.
"She's looking after ma and pa. Come, i'm sure she'll be glad to know you returned."
"Alright, lead the way."
The man lead Bob to his house and entered. Bob saw that Kureha was hovering over the man's parents. The man rushed to her and passed her the flower.
"This is just what I needed! Now I can make the cure."
Kureha said as she went to a table with a brown bowl on it. Inside was some sort of green paste, she took the blue gem like object from the flower and put it inside the bowl. After that she started mixing it inside the green paste.
The paste turned purple.
After mixing it for five minutes, she put the paste on the mans father and mother.
Bob could see that their pale skin started to have some color return to it. Even their breathing calmed down.
"Amazing."
Bob said out loud as he watched Kureha work.
Kureha looked at Bob and removed her black glasses.
"I almost forgot about you. A building right? I do have one you could use, as i'm thinking of moving to the Drum Rockies. So if you want it, you can have it."
"Sure! I'll take whatever you have."
Bob agreed.
"However, don't you think your limiting your skills here on this small island?"
Bob added.
Kureha grinned.
"No, this is like a vacation."
"Really? The world is wide, there are doctors more skilled than you. Diseases that you've never seen before. Aren't you curious to see if you have what it takes to cure them? To show the world all your knowledge?"
Kureha sighed.
"Once you've lived as long as I have, there is little that you want to see or do. I'm fine with just passing my knowledge on to my mentee here."
Bob looked down at Chopper who was still covering his body.
"That's only one person. What if he leaves this island one day or dies? Your wisdom won't be passed on then. I think you'd be better suited to teach a vast number of people, and be in a place where others can see how amazing of a doctor you are. I have this idea, if you're willing to listen to it. I believe it'll benefit us both."
Kureha thought about it for a moment and nodded her head.
"Alright, i'm listening."

Shadows in the Dawn Mist
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] - Winner November 2020 When a young woman is lured back to her homeland for the opportunity of a life time, she must face old fears. But never would she think that facing up to her past would change everything. Is History written by the victors, or by someone or something else...? *** I started writing this a few years ago and eventually fell out of love with it. I never finished it and my newer books are being written in different writing style, and genre with a more planned process. I decided to revisit it for the writathon and found that it wasn't as hopeless as I'd come to think. Hopefully, I've improved as a writer since them so the consistency may vary. Its been good to revisit and analyse my writing which I feel used to have some clunky and obvious dialogue which I'm trying to fix. This will always be my first novel and I hope, with a little exposure, I may come to like it again. Thanks for reading!
