《The Aether Universe》Chapter 18

In the nest, there were three eggs. They looked like chicken eggs except they were way bigger. The drake eggs were almost as big as Tai's head.
Since the three eggs were pretty big, Tai struggled to hold them with one hand, but he quickly found a fix by using his darkness manipulation to create a bigger hand that he wore like a glove. With the egg situation dealt with, Tai made his way back to the city.
While Tai was walking to the city, he was especially careful as he didn't want to drop a single egg as that might fail the mission for him.
When he entered the city, he received a notification from the system.
You have received a message (1)
Since he was currently busy, he decided to put it off for now and receive the reward so he could properly read the message without being bothered.
As he walked through the streets of the city, people cast glances at him as he was still using the darkness to create an enlarged hand to hold the three eggs. A UEE soldier even started writing notes as the soldier watched him.
Arriving at the guild, he ignored the stares of other people as he gave the woman at the cashier the eggs and received his 900 AC.
"Do you want to claim your optional reward of a Drake Egg?" the woman asked.
"Umm, sure," Tai replied.
He grabbed one of the eggs and walked over next door and entered his apartment, laying down on the bed as he placed the egg on a desk beside his bed.
As he laid down on the bed, he opened up his communicator and checked the message that he had received.
From: Luna Zenith
Tai, your sister, and I are safe. It's so good to hear from you. I'm currently working as a waiter in one of the restaurants here, and as much as I told her not to, your sister joined the Adventurer's Guild. Tai, we're in Aether City - 21. Where are you? I've gathered some of those AC and I can take the teleporter to visit you if you don't have enough. Hope you're doing well and respond back when you can.

Tai smiled as he saw the message. It's been a while since he last saw his family, also his sister was now in the Adventurer's Guild? As much as Tai teased his sister, he was still protective of her and wouldn't want any harm to come her way.
"City 21, huh? Alright then, time to leave this place." Tai started packing the stuff that he had in his apartment which frankly, wasn't very much, but where would he store them?
As Tai pondered on how he would carry his stuff, he suddenly got a good idea. Channeling the darkness, he solidified it and shaped it, making a backpack that could hold his stuff.
Darkness Constructs has leveled up
+1 status point
Darkness Manipulation has leveled up
+1 status point
The good thing about Darkness Constructs is that once they're made, they don't take anything. They're there forever as long as there's darkness and they're not destroyed.
Carefully placing the egg in the backpack, Tai put the backpack on and stood up, but when he stood up, something weird happened.
Tai felt the floor, but not with his normal leg, he felt it with two legs, meaning that...
Instantly, Tai looked at his leg and found that it had healed and with it, his dexterity debuff disappeared, making him better and stronger.
In a way, Tai was thankful as he didn't want his mother to see him with no leg and make her cry. Leaving the apartment, Tai told the robot that he would no longer be staying here and left the building. In his time in the city, he had seen the teleporter. For a small price, it would let you teleport to any Aether City on the planet.
Tai had never had a use for them until now. He stepped onto the teleport pad and was prompted with a question.

What city would you like to go to?
"City 21."
This will cost 1,000 AC. Are you sure?
YES NO
Tai's balance took another hit as he pressed yes, but he could always make it back in a day.
Suddenly, Tai was in another city and this one was instantly different from the city that he had been previously.
Instead of being all humans like the city that he was in before, there were aliens in this city. Humanoid reptiles that had long tails swaying on the ground, Blob masses that looked like slime. There were even alien humanoids that looked like humans but were still different.
One of the humanoids looked human, but its arms were disproportionately longer than its body to the point that standing up, its hands touched the floor.
There were also humanoids that looked like dwarves from fantasy, and there were even ones that looked like elves.
"Cool," was the only thing that he could say when he looked at the aliens.
"First time?" a UEE soldier asked him.
Tai nodded.
"Yeah, I was like you too. I mean come on now we know that there was life in the universe other than us. Anyway, do you need any help?"
Tak shook his head. "Wait, actually, yeah. Do you know of Luna Zenith, and Anna Zenith?"
"I don't know of a Luna Zenith, but I do know of Anna Zenith. She's quite famous in the Adventurer's Guild. If I remember correctly, she's in the top 10 here."
"Hmm, thanks then."
"Yup, no problem."
Hearing the information that his sister, who was 16 or so, was in the top 10 in the leaderboard was surprising.
"I guess I'll just have to wait in the guild until she shows up." As Tai started walking, he groaned, "Ughh, what a pain."
