In Amizan people lived happy lives. Demihumans, elves, humans, dwarves… But then he came… Lord of darkness. Many know about him, and his armies of chaos. They march through the nations, killing everything they can see.

Beasts so scary, that they can be hardly described with words. They kill with such brutality, that it’s hard to recognize the bodies.

Butchers - demons with three heads, and big axes. They are similar to humans, but they are three times bigger.

Succubi - demons of lust and sex. They lure men away from their homes, to feed on their flesh.

Horrors, Nightmares, Knights of hell… There was no hope, but the gods heard the prayers of their people, and chose their heroes to fight with the dark lord.

Many songs were made after that, telling their tales, and describing their bravery.

But one goddess refused to call her hero. She has waited patiently for one special boy, that was now being burned alive.

You see, people are scared of demons. Lord of darkness still lives, and commands his hordes. People are scared, and they should be. They are scared of Butchers, Succubi, Knights of hell, but there is something scarier than them. Folks have many legends about them - shapeshifters.

Your son, father, wife… A morning kiss from a special person… A bowl of soup from your mother… A small smile from someone you love… Only to be killed, by a monster that doesn’t even have a face.

A young boy died, killed by one of them. His tongue was removed, and legs crushed. He was found many days later crucified to a tree. The last thing he saw, was his mother changing into something he couldn’t recognise.

It’s hardly surprising, that his father would burn one of those things alive… That a young boy, would throw a rock at it with disgust... That a girl that loved it, would turn around…

It’s hard to kill a shapeshifter. Swords can’t hurt their hard skin, and they can live for hundreds of years, but they are pretty weak. That’s why they use deception, and tricks.

But this boy wasn’t a demon nor was he even a bad person. He wasn’t, but who would listen to someone, who regenerated his head three times… A boy who didn’t die, while being burned alive.

Sanity is like ice, it’s weak against fire. It’s hard not to change, when your skin burns on you, and your flesh screams in pain. It’s hard to stay the same, when your eyes melt.

Before he lost his consciousness a small window appeared before him.
