《Mafia God!》Chapter 20 - Pay Back!

Here is chapter 20, I have had a slight problem with the notes to this novel which will not affect the novel but it will take some time to completely finish, so I posted this chapter because I might not be able to post on tomorrow when I should have posted, but there is a slight chance I might post another tomorrow but it will be on my website only and not RRL.

~Claus POV~
*Sigh*
'At least I don't have to worry about funds ever again' I thought as I raised an eyebrow 'But still to use one of my Dukes spots? Well, there is not point thinking about it now, I just hope it was worth it since I only have 3 more spots left' I thought and opened the door to my house.
I took off my shoes and put them to the side and went to the living room where I was greeting by mom and dad sitting in a chair looking right at me while the TV was off "What is going on?" I asked them "Sit down son!" My dad said and I sat down in front of them.
They looked at me for a while before my mom spoke: "Is it our fault?" She said looking at my father and he also didn't know how to reply, I looked at them confused 'what is going on?' I thought
"Son, Your mother and I are very grateful that you act like an adult but the truth is that you are still a child, I mean you just became 12 this year and you are already starting college tomorrow.....I might sound horrible as a father and I have never thought I would say this but you need to be more like your age have fun, get friends because you are only a child once in your life so don't act like an adult, because the time will come sooner or later but being a child and playing with your friends will only happen once in your life and the time won't stay still for you." My father said and I understood what was going on.

'So that was it?' I thought, well, they are right I might have become too focused on myself and my goals that I forgot how my parents see me as.
But there is nothing I can do about it either, I have never had a childhood in my past life, let's not forget about the many people I have killed in this life and my past.
My mentality is leagues away from that of someone my age, so how can I start to act like one.
*sigh*
"What happened to the days where children would get drunk, take drugs, steal something and lie about it, have sex, get arrest....." My mother said and my father stopped her from speaking anymore as he placed his hand on her mouth and she removed it using her own hand.
"What are you saying!" My father said as he looked at my mother, she held her arms around her bosom and looked at me "What is wrong, I am sure he knows what these all meant, I have never thought him from right to wrong and yet he seems to know it all by himself, as a parent I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing."
I started to sweat as I understood more and more of my actions. It's true, I have never done anything wrong, I always did everything without a mistake, even the killings was done perfectly as I didn't allow mistakes.
I just didn't know that this is how my parents saw it, I should have been more carefully and created a small mistake here and there.
"Don't listen to your mother I am sure it's the pregnancy speaking and not her, just make sure to get friends in the college and please don't skip any more grades, that won't be good for you, have fun okay?" My father said as he looked at me

"Yes father" I said and stood up and went up to my room, I locked the door behind me and jumped on the bed.
Oh man, maybe I have been so focused on my plan in taking over the world that I forgot what fun meant?
NO!
I know more than anyone else, the dangers this world will face as well as the power we will need to live through it, I have no time to act like a child, I need to take over this world before they arrive or else the human race will be annihilated.
But no matter how fast I want to be my damn age is restricting me!
*sigh*
I can't be too hasty I need to take things slowly to build a steady foundation or else things might not work out as I have planned them to be.
"James?" I sent a telepathic message to James
"Yes?"
"How long is it?" I asked him
"We are not sure but if my guess is right then it should be in 20 years if not less" He replied
"Thank you" I said and cut the connection
"Amos?" I sent a telepathic message to Amos
"Yes boss?" he replied
"You need to step up your game, we need more soldiers, time is not on our side so make a haste!" I said to him
"When you say soldiers do you mean elite once or just normal soldiers?"
"Both!" I said
"That's fine then but can you talk to that new guys, he keeps harassing me with the telepathic talking, and there is nothing I can do but listen to him talk about numbers and more numbers it is getting into my hand, can you put him into a mute" Amos said
"Like you didn't do the same when you got it, let him be he is new at it, I am sure he will get the hang of it sooner or later"
"Boss you are only saying this because it's not happening to you, Do you know how many times my men thought I was crazy as I shouted to myself and at night I can barely get some sleep, hell he even talks in HIS sleep, just mute him please" He said in an irritated tone, I only smiled before I cut his connection.
"Hehehe, like you didn't make me suffer after you got it, payback is sweet!" I said to myself before I took off my clothes and went to sleep.

Marrow
Marrow was old... older than me or you. Older than the nation he lived in. And older than anyone he knew. Which is not surprising, because he did not know anyone else. He had been sitting, or perhaps leaning is the more apt expression, in a closet for many, many years, and had done nothing but stare. But eating, or rather chewing, a spider opened up another world to him. A world with a voice that was talking to him - to HIM! Marrow did not get what the voice was saying, but that was secondary at this point. And Marrow started to feel restless. Nuff said. If you like a sometimes quirky skeleton as the main character and want to ride along for its coming of age, or perhaps rather coming of sapience story... give it a shot. It is a litrpg context with skills, levels, heroes and monsters... and a skeleton. Not sure yet how fast the skeleton will level... we'll have to wait and see. As a disclaimer... this is my secondary novel... my main story is ongoing and most of my time is dedicated to that. As such, new chapters will, at first, be rather infrequent and irregular. If things go well, I may shift more attention to the story, but we shall see how things go.

When hell freezes over
An ancient seal has been broken and a forgotten power returns to the world gradually, upsetting the balance of normality. People used to say "I'll do that when hell freezes over" jokingly, but now that saying holds more weight in a changing world where people have to get used to the unusual. Ancient creatures hidden in the earth stir from their slumber of centuries, and humanity is not prepared for their ancient powers. Can the human race of steel and fire stand against the creatures created by the most ancient of powers? Is the human race pure enough to band together and form a closed fist as they did centuries ago? Find out in this adventure where Jacob starts off on his way on a normal day towards his job. "I get the feeling this story might be one of those 'diamonds in the rough'. The premise is quite solid, there's plenty of room to flesh out the characters. It's quite easy to get into and be engaged by at the moment, imo. I don't know where the story will go from here, but it's off to a good start me thinks." - Xenower Attribution: The cave picture in the book cover is made by Stanislav Sedov and is licensed under CC-BY-SA-2.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0/ This picture was modified from the original with an overlaid moon and sea picture to be found at https://www.flickr.com/photos/ssedov/26342569905 The photographer has no affiliation to Tschallacka nor can be held accountable for the use of this picture the way as it is here.
