Hello everyone. Thanks for reading. I'm Mike Dukk, a guy that loves to write about fantasy, science fiction, magical realism, and whatever other ideas pop into my head. I've decided to post my latest novel idea here in a different format in hopes of accomplishing all of the following:
-Entertaining you the reader. That's always my goal. I strive to better myself so the things I write elicit emotion from those that choose to read my work.
-Getting my name out there. It's hard to make a name for yourself as an author. A friend of mine directed me to this site, and I decided to post some of my rougher drafts of my latest Dark Fantasy Series, which I've labeled, "The Vengeance of the Wind". It's by far the darkest thing I've written, and I believe this fantasy world I'm creating has a lot of depth and possibilities for some great stories. I've got at least this trilogy planned in this world. The content of the first book is mostly written, only in a very rough draft I wouldn't dare share until I've improved it. Right now I plan to post the entire first novel here, possibly all three depending on how it works out. This is a new experience for me.
-Looking for productive feedback. I used to be in a writer's group, but I felt like I outgrew it. By posting on this site, I'm looking for productive feedback that can help me improve my future drafts, one of which I will eventually publish.
-I'm hoping some of the readers here will find my work enjoyable enough to purchase my existing books, which are currently for sale on amazon.com. Search for "Mike Dukk" and they'll show up. Since posting here I think some people have picked them up and read them. Thank you to those that have.

He's never left his town and only heard legends about the beasts that roam the wastelands and the sorcerers who reside high in the Phaethon Mountains. Still, he chooses to throw it all away and chase after a dream knowing he'll mostly likely die out in the darkness.

The Gods gathered together in a moment of clarity and created a world where people could battle, gain powers, and eventually enough power to kill them and take their place. After a millennium, they still have little success. So the gods keep scooping people up from the various worlds they've created in hopes of finding their death. They had gathered from six of the seven worlds they had available to them, now they have no choice but to gather combatants from the one world they swore they would leave alone: Earth. The world was dying and the people seemed hell bent on killing each other, rather than focusing on keeping their world alive so they could all live peacefully. Earth wasn't an ideal place to choose from, but the Gods had no choice. With new combatants gathered, each blessed with a gift from the Gods, they are set loose in the world of Taimin. The play ground for the replacement God candidates. However, this time, the combatants are unaware of their true purpose, so that maybe, they can accomplish the God's true goals. Another round of God creation has begun, but with secrets kept from them, and others hunting for their deaths, can they survive the first rounds, or will they perish because of the weaknesses they carry?
