《Life Zero》|Chapter 3| A Murder

A murder stared with their beady eyes as they waited for a moment to eat the scraps. Celest eyes burned purple in the darkness that surround. Blood lust filled the harsh air making it suffocating to even the heartless crows pant for air. Seconds slowed into years as the standoff between the two continued. “COME OUT GIRL” frighten by the sudden scream, the birds rapidly flew around the place. Quickly, the man covered his face from the blood thirsty crows. When he open eyes again there she was in the moon that was shiny so brightly. Long pearly hair dance in breeze as the rest the flock returned to high up; perching in the tress and broken half collapsed roofs. He gulped as he meets those cold dead eyes that sent even him a shiver down his spine. She smirks showing off very sharp teeth that could tear a throat right open. And her ears…
She wasn’t human either. No, she was like him but…
“Where was all that bloodlust now? Man, you look like a shit up close” she stuck out her tongue at the last part. ‘Huh?’ the poor man was just confused with the small child ‘Like very short’ he thought as he looks up down as he studied her.
“My name is Celest nice to meet you” she grinned as she held out her pale smooth hand. “Your name means heavenly…,” he burst out laughter, “heavenly my ass!”
“Oi, I’m a very sweet girl I let you know”
“A murder is sweet?” he stifled his laugh as he glanced at her.
“ummm… A very nice murder”
“Sure”
“So~, what made you go on a murder spree?”
“Because I can”
“Ok… werido~,” she grew closer. Smiling somehow bigger. “What’s your name?” sighing he replied “Erix” She giggled.

“Nice to meet you, Erix!” ‘Eyes don’t change to dead like her to bright like now. Can they?’ he spared a glance at her she poked the very dead man. Confused he pick her up from her shirt and dangled her up high. “LET ME DOWN YOU PIG!” she struggled against his grip. “OW!” Blood trickled down his arm as she wouldn’t let go. Dropping her the ground, she let out a yelp as he stared him with disgust. She made no sense whatsoever to the Erix. ‘Maybe she would make good bait’ like she read his mind she death glared him.
‘Ok so no bait then… wait why am I being so nice to her… do I really enjoy this banter?’ Carefully, she stood up to see the man stuck in his own thoughts. She waved to get his attention, no results. Humming a song, she got stuck in her head, she stole a few shinnies that the villagers had. Strolling around baren streets, she picks up some flower and left them on the villagers’ bodies. She must admit they weren’t the worst humans she has meet. They gave some her some sweets and food ever so often and let her roam around. Once a lady from the bakery let her stay in the warm cosy house of hers. She was a pretty one though, bright emerald eyes contrasted so beautiful to her coral silky hair. What was her name again? A dumb human name. She snorted at her own pathetic joke. Well, she’ll think of it soon.
Finally, she places the last flower on the last died guy. Did she feel guilty well nope, but they at least deserved some sort of funeral. Lomin flowers is what she left on cold bodies; beautiful flower they are. ‘FUCK YOU BIRDS!’ Ok maybe she chose the flower not for their beauty, but birds hated the smell. Many farmers used them by surrounding their crops with lomins to keep their crops safe from the hungry birds. So yes, fuck those birds.
