《Hero Delivery》chapter 31

On a planet of constant change, a place of dreams. Two people stand trying to understand. After observing the madness of the world for a while the man shakes his head, “I have no idea what's going on.”
“How can you not know?” The woman asked not able to take her eyes off the world, as she watches a flower shift into a snake.
“Everything here is...out of wack.” The man said as they saw a dog walk by, then turn into a duck and fly into the air.
“What the dog spontaneously turning into a duck tip you off?” The woman asked sarcastically.
“That's exactly it. It's like this entire place is in a constant state of quantum flux.” The man complained
“No idea what that means.”
“Simply put anything can happen at any time.”
“That does appear to be what's happening, but how?” The woman says as she sees a butterfly, turn into a literal stick of butter.
“I don't know. I've never seen anything like this.” There was awe and wonder in the man's voice.
The woman looked dumbfounded, “How can you have never seen anything like this?
“Multiverse is a big place.” The man said watching the dream logic of this world.
“What are we even here for?”
“I don't know.”
“Is that the theme for this trip? You don't know.” The woman said rolling her eyes?
“Apparently.” The man pulled out his clipboard, “Here take a look at the summons paperwork.”
The woman took the clipboard, and on the paper, everything kept changing. One moment it was asking for a dog, then an old lady, then a dragon, then a kid.
“What is this?”
The man chuckled as he said, “I don't know. We are here to find out. This whole place is chaos.” The man corrected himself, “No the chaos makes more sense than this.”
“So where is the god?”
“I don't know. The woman glared at him as he said it again, but the man waved it away as he continued, “This is frustrating. It's like he's popping in, and out of the between his world and being a god. I can't pin them down.”

The woman was surprised, why would a god pop in and out jumping around, when “Like they’re playing hide and seek?”
The man’s eyes widened.
“He's not is he?” The woman asked in disbelief.
“Fuuuuuuuccccccckkkkkkkkkk!!!” The man shouted startling the girl and some animals and grass, that shifted into birds to fly away.
“What?”
The man figured out what was going on, “This is a reality bender world.”
“And that is?”
“Think a mortal creature with the power to manifest anything at any time they think of.” The man explained.
“A god?”
“Similar but different. Looking around, I think this might be a world of reality benders at least to a sense. They might be limited in scope. This. Is giving me a headache just thinking about it.” The man said clutching at his head.
The woman thought back to the dog, “So that dog, that turned into a duck was a person?”
The man shrugged, “Maybe. Could have just been a dog that wanted to fly or a duck that decided to be a dog for a while. This is screwy as hell. “
“And why would a place like this need a hero?” The woman wondered if a hero could even function in a world like this.
The man thought aloud, “Maybe the void monsters get the power to?”
“That would not be good.” The woman said concerned.
“No, it is not.”
The area around them began to change into a dense forest, as the two suddenly felt the presence of power.
The man smiled, “There you are.” The man looked to a bush, “Decided you wanted to be a god again?”
A young cat with a too big smile walked out of the bush, “Oh yes. I felt you, and remembered why you are here.”
“You need a hero.” The woman chimed.
“Oh yes, someone has come and is breaking my things.” The cat said with disdain in a way only a cat could.
“Your people.” The woman tried to correct.

The cat's smile grew, “Yes my things, and I need one of those heroes. The people of my world are a little disorganized, and stop being people when they’re scared. Causing a bit of a lack of defenders.”
“Oh.” That was the only thing the woman could think to respond with.
“When can I get a hero?” The cat asked.
The man held out a clipboard and pointed out the problem, “You keep changing the paperwork.”
The cat looked down at the man, “Well I keep thinking of a better hero. It's not like I can't change my mind.”
“Look I can get you a hero, but you either need to stick with one or I'm picking.” The man said giving the cat an ultimatum.
This got the cat excited, “oOoOO that does sound like fun! A surprise! You pick!”
——
Somewhere on a pale blue marble, in a place where people are sick and minds aren't right sits a girl.
The girl has been here for as long as she can remember. One day she began to talk about her dreams that weren't dreams. About the in-between and chaos. About the creatures, she sees and sometimes speaks to. Of course, none of these things were real they were all in her head. The problem was she refused to believe that, no matter what anyone said.
One day she watched a movie about a girl named Alice, and to her this proved that the things she saw were real, confirming to her that she was right. How else would a world understand her own madness so well, she believed another once saw as she did.
The girl lived a good life in a place taking the little pills she was given, sometimes seeing her own Cheshire cat or other strange mad creatures. The pills tended to make them hide, but she was always happy to see her old friends again.
Then one day she was taking her pills, and a man walked out from the between, through the walls of her room. The girl thought this was strange. She had never seen this man before so she knew this wasn't one of her mad friends. So she walked up to him "Why do you walk between the walls?"
“How else would I walk?” The man said staring confused at the girl.
“With your feet.” The girl said deadpan.
“But what if I had none?”
“Then it would be much harder.” The girl said.
The man laughed, “Yes it would.” Smiling he looked down to the girl to ask, “Would you like to move in the between?”
“It does look interesting, but I have so many friends here.” The girl said gesturing to the empty room all around her.
The man looked around seeing specters of something fading in and out of the ether. “Oh, interesting but that's where your friends are.” The man explained.
The woman’s deadpan expression brightened, “Oh! Is it like Wonderland!”
The man froze taken aback, “...you know what that is an apt comparison.”
“So it's just another madhouse?” The girl frowned, not wanting to go to another madhouse. Why would she want to go to another place like this, she just got her socks in the right order?
“Think a mad world.”
The girl smiled wondering what a mad world would look like. “Sounds like a better place than here. How do we get there?”
“We walk.”
“Oh. That is simple.”
“Simple is the best sometimes.”
“That is a crazy answer. I love it.” The girl giggled.
The man held out his hand to the girl, “Take my hand.”
The girl took the man's hand and it was the last thing she remembered of the facility.

The Second Coming of Fate [A High Fantasy Story]
Prologue Arc: The Day That Begins Your Fate - COMPLETED Story Arc 1: Chaos in the Lamorian Kingdom - ONGOING Please consider following/leaving a rating. I plan to turn this into a long lasting series, and it would really mean a whole lot to me. :) ----- Having succumb to amnesia, Galvin one day appears in the Grand Forest east of the capital kingdom Lamora. For the next two months, he lives a perfectly carefree yet boring life until one fateful day changed everything. Encountering all sorts of characters and dealing with all sorts of shenanigans, Galvin begins to experience visions of what appears to be the future. With this newfound power in a world full of magic, yet plagued with war, discrimination, and brutality, will Galvin be able to change fate…or die trying? ----- Do you like stories where the protagonist doesn't start out strong and is deeply character driven (with a LOT of inner monologues)? A story that has its fair share of comedic and dark moments? Well then you've come to the right place! However, if you're looking for LitRPG mechanics, then unfortunately, this story doesn't contain too many of them. The dynamics of the story will be based on real life physics and mechanics (with a bit of magic of course!) Also, I delve deeply into a lot of disturbing topics, so readers do be warned. However, if any of this sounds interesting to you, then please come by and give my story a read. ----- Expect releases as soon as possible (which is like 4 - 10 days). Just know that I'm writing this story as it progresses, so a lot of first drafts are to be expected. :D

Tales of Ordinary, Completely Unremarkable Contractors
"Where life had no value, death, sometimes, had its price. That is why the mercenaries appeared." - Artur Xerxes, in A Century of Disappointment: Memoirs of a Travelling Dwarf It's never too difficult to land contracts for a set very specialised skills in a continent teeming with werewolves, vampires, giant leopards, undead and, god forbid, elves. The difficulty comes when these contractors find themselves suffocated in the dense atmosphere of this world's rigid - and mostly unfair - rules; death, suffering and misfortune await those unwilling to sacrifice to bend these in their favour. In this non-linear plot, you will observe a scarred and deformed farm girl cashing her first bounty posters, a seemingly ordinary barmaid at a tavern in the bustling centre of a sprawling, corrupt city and an enigmatic leader of a firm specialising in dealings any other would consider suicidal. Watch them all take everything to the next level at every available opportunity, and then feel dread at the thought that this still might not be enough to halt the physical embodiment of doom about to do what it does best Please, feel free to review and comment! Any sort of feedback can help me become a better writer and write more engaging stories for you. I used to update once every 3-5 days, but this rewrite is taking much too long...I do hope it will be worth it.
