《Last Grace: The Apex of Another World》Chapter 17 - Wanting minus the Means

Lucifer relaxed, he could not afford being hasty in his actions. Haste would only make his progress slower at the end of the day.

He yearned to communicate, he was in control though even with his wanting. Of his emotions, and of his strength - he only had to seek and he would find them.

Would he seek them or would he fail and find something less worthy than what he had sought?

He wouldn't be able to get an answer out of himself, the only one that could've given him an answer was another being - humanoid, sapient or otherwise.

He would do this, he could do this. His title was nice and all but that was not all there was to the system. There was so much more! if that's what he got for killing the queen spider he wondered what he would get if he had killed a dragon, with the ability to fly and breathe flames it would be capable of much more than the spider queen.

His urge grew to slaughter, to edge closer to the apex.

That was going to be his apex. His!

Stomach in mind, Lucifer needed little to keep him going. He ate the ugly rabbits, he settled on stockpiling the grotusque things. Heating it over a fire to preserve the meat. It was a good idea, one that he would rely on time and again... or so he thought.

It was two days after his victory against the arachnid queen and during that time he had made great progress towards completing the shelter. Lucifer would have now been happy with a shelter instead of the monstrosity that was now his "creation". Now more than ever he wish it wasnt as the quality - overall was lacking and people had expectations of him, he had expectations of himself and that was something he had a hard time handling.

On his face he could show any emotion, he wouldn't let anyone have that though. His pride would not succumb to other people's lesser wills. This was how he always had lived.

Todays part in his ever growing power was his exploration of the contribution system, it would answer one of his questions.

Not his main one, albeit one that concerns him second to the most in this new world.

The first being the identity of his Mother, the second the purpose of the system, thus the usefulness of the contribution points.

Which was draining, he clearly lacked the points to buy anything worthwhile after getting whipped into this world's ways during the spider battle.

The screen opened with a mere thought, and this time he had time to spare. He rested on a fallen tree and examined the screen that laid in front of him.

This time around Lucifer was able to get a good look at what the store had. It had a lot, one of the types of things which that it sold was angering him.

Premade housing... how could he not have noticed that before. It was blatant in its thick text, he could not stay mad with his anger being won over by his curiosity.

He opened the housing section, his jaw dropping faster than he did.

It... it was 1200 CP, a picture of a castle popped up. That... he kinda wanted that. The buildings came with extra options, it was more if you wanted it furnished, 10200 furnished. He said little when he looked at the other options.

He didn't see anything that amazing, who knows what would pop up with the system later. He would be better off making a place for himself.

It would allow him to learn more about building and what he wanted. It was a lesson about hard work not knowing the particularities of it when he was as perfect as he was tough. That's not him even bragging, he was told that he was extremely handsome.

Did he care if he had secret admirers? It wasn't far from his mind, he should get clean. That's why he was thinking about such things.

Both angels and demons would smell of shit after a while of living wildly. Not even to mention the length at which he worked. He worked himself to death, he saw no need to stop working - if he was not reflecting at the same time would be when Lucifer would stop.

His beauty wouldn't fail him here. He was not going to let others use him. He would use them, no matter how close to equals or even his betters.

He had no betters. In the attractivity apartment... that much he was sure of.

He was lagging far behind, in last- in the scent apartment. He needed to get clean. He closed the menu, and set his eyes onto where he guessed the nearest source of water was.

It was some time until he did find it. Lucifer would get clean, and then find out how to get his hands on some contribution points for materials. While modern appearances had its merits, medival era and back - clothing, and weapons wise was greater. He needed clothes.

So much he needed, yet, there was always something somewhere that he lacked.

He needed to stop wanting and start doing.

He needed to just do it and attain the apex. No dream was attained by standing idle.

There was no room for hesitation no matter how far he fell. He was a demon,

treated as a source of most problems - humans are such idiots.

He wondered... when would Lucifer meet a human.

And how he would spread that legend once again,

"I just love being called upon, human or not I am admired. Hated, respected. In every culture, they came in order - with my command I made them rise." Lucifer spoke - his voice giving way to an external monologue.

He ran his fingers through his hair, ridding himself of the inhuman blood. The water carried away the vile and brought out something worse.

His face disgusted as if he was seeing Hell for the first time. His own reflection spoke of his own myth. In the water his own ego.

Thick hair as black as the night, slitted eyes contracting to a point - life in them carried through grass and pines forever, skin pale as the moon. Sharp teeth on the first watch, forming a drowning crescent.

His lack of focus made him wanting.

His options were quite simple - kill and grow, or be devoured and turned fertilizer.

His next few months would decide it for him. Was he all that tough, or was Lucifer all talk.
