《Breaking Limits: A DBZ Fan-fic》Chapter 20

A happy Sarada was a sight to behold. It's not like the saiyan doesn't have her happy moments. It's just that she doesn't have her overly happy moments all the time. When one speaks of a overly happy Sarada one means a smiling humming Sarada who was satisfied enough to cook breakfast for everyone. Including the pig that tried to betray them. That is a happy Sarada. A rare sight. She has normal happy and happy enough to help a poor bastard she absolutely hates. She was on that level of happiness. Of course this left Bulma confused. What got her so happy? Did she have a good fight? A good training session? A brilliant invention? A new discovery? A revelation? Some devilish plan? Bulma didn't know, but she was curious. Kakarot was enjoying the generous feast prepared for him. He wasn't at all curious about what brought his sistercs cheerfulness. He was hungry and there was food. That was all that mattered. Oolong sat at the dining table with him. He was suspiciously picking at his food. The memory of what they did to him the night before had scarred him. He was afraid of eating anything the girl prepared for him. It could be a trap. At first he strategized to eat whatever Kakarot ate but he realized that it could back fire. The boy was very strong a weird. Who knows if he could easily handle any poison given to him. He ended up fearfully eating what was presented to him. He did not trust Sarada. Especially with that cheerful demeanor she had.
"Sarada? "Bulma slid into the booth next to the smiling saiyan. Sarada hummed in response as she kept her eyes trained on her game. She seems very invested in it all of a sudden. "Why so happy? "
"Check the closet "
Bulma raised an eyebrow but did as suggested. She walked over to the nearest closet. She didn't know what to expect but she did not expect to find the bandit they ran into. He was tied up securely with tape over his mouth. When he saw her he went red in the face and fainted. Bulma furrowed her brows at that. Was he really afraid of women? That's pathetic.
"Why is he in the closet?" Blum questioned as she closed the closet as if there was not a body in there.
"So that's where you put him" Kakarot had apparently finished eating and hopped off his seat. He had a glass of juice in his hand as he went to the closet as well. He saw the passed out Yamcha and laughed. "Where's his flying cat? "
"Sleeping in a drawer"
"Why is he in the closet? "Bulma asked again as she tightened the belt around her waist.
"I felt like it. He was being a major thorn in our side and I was getting fed up. So I told Kakarot to bring him into the van after he had his fun" Sarada explained with a sadistic glimmer in her eyes. The things she could do to the bandit that dared try to rob them. She chuckled menacingly.
"Don't kill him"
Sarada only smile brightly as she went back to her game. "He's coming with us"

"Alright" Bulma sighed and got herself a plate of food as she slipped back next to Sarada. "Do you mind driving today? "
"Nope, not at all" Sarada put her game away and placed herself in the driver seat. She started to hum the dragon ball opening as she turned the key and started the van. She quickly checked the radar again and determined their direction.
"It's off to firemountain"
At the mention of the name Oolong was reminded of his impending doom. He needed to ditch this group of crazy people. He would surely die. If it wasn't by the hands of the Ox King it would be by the sadistic Sarada. None of them were very appealing to him. He would prefer he survived to wish for his harem of a hundred women. Then and only then could he die happily and peacefully. He refused to die before his dream was realized. He refused to Die because of the stupidity of some good for nothing kid. He would make his escape as soon as the opportunity presented itself. Maybe he could get that bandit to help. It would be in their best interest.
~~~~~~~
Sooner or later the temperature started to rise the closer they got to their destination. Sarada, Kakarot and Bulma didn't seem to mind. It was nothing to them. But Oolong and Puar were feeling the heat. Yamcha had woken up at some point. The heat was even more intense for him. The tiny closet he was trapped in was already warm enough. Panic had set in when he awoke again. He realized just what he had gotten himself into. He messed with the wrong set of explorers. They weren't push overs. They could handle themselves. They could easily kick him to the moon. If the youngest of their group could manhandle him he could only imagine what the other two could do. Especially the one who locked him in the closet with most satisfied smile.
He needed to escape. But how? His restraints were strong. No matter how much he struggled he could not break free. No matter how strong he was or how much he wiggled. He was tied securly and there was no getting out.
It sucked.
Sarada pulled the van to a stop when they were close enough to the mountain. She smiled and exited without telling anyone. She eyed the flaming mountain while checking the radar. Not far now. Things were about to get a tad more interesting. They were about to meet the Ox king and Chichi. Master Roshi would display his most powerful Attack. Kakarot will copy it. Sarada most likely would as well. The kamehameha wave was a useful technique she wouldn't mind having.
"Let's go"
"I am not going anywhere. Feel free to leave me here" Oolong stood his ground.
"Kakarot get the bandit and Puar" Sarada signaled her younger brother who went off to do as told. "I don't mind leaving you behind pig, I just don't trust you with our belongings. So get out before I come get you myself"
Oolong gulped. His resolve crumbled under Sarada's cold gaze. He started sweating bullets the longer that stare remained on him. Sarada was serious. If she came to get him it will spell bad news for the pig. Being the coward he was he had no choice but to do as told. He climbed out of the van as ordered. He sighed and kicked the dirt under his feet. He suddenly became their pansy.
Yamcha gruted as Kakarot dumped him on the hot sand. He was treated with no respect while Puar was politely left to hover in the air near the boy.
"Thank you Kakarot "
"You're welcome " Kakarot grinned as he reverted the van back to its capsule.
Sarada was about to say something when a scream stopped her. Everyone turned their attention towards the source of the scream. What they saw gathered different reactions. Sarada smirked mischievously as she looked from the panicked girl to her brother. She had an idea. Bulma raised an eyebrow. Kakarot was curious. Why was the girl dressed so scarcely. Oolong, Yamcha and Puar were scared out of their minds when they saw the dinosaur chasing the screaming girl.
"Huh"
Sarada chuckled.
"We should help her shouldn't we? "
"Her power level is higher than ordinary humans" Kakarot noted with a pensive look on his face.
"Don't come any closer! "With that warning the scared girl threw the blade that was placed on her pink helmet. Everyone watched as it sliced the dino's head clear off its body. Yamcha, Puar and Oolong had their jaws on the floor while the other three were unaffected by the scene. In fact they were impressed. When the girl realized what she had done she panicked and fired off multiple lasers, disintegrating the dead body.
"Who the hell is that kid!? "Oolong exclaimed
"Kakarot, didn't Gohan say the Ox King had a daughter? "Sarada questioned.
"Yeah. He did"
"I am going to take a wild and highly accurate guess and say that is the Ox's daughter"
Most likely. Sarada had a habit of always being right. something she obviously takes pride in.
"So.. " Bulma drawled as they just watched
"Kakarot go talk to her" Sarada nudged the boy towards the girl.
"Why?"
"Her father's the Ox king. Tell her we want to see him. Mention Gohan if you have to" she nudged him again.
Kakarot sighed and made his way towards the distracted girl. He didn't understand why Sarada couldn't go talk to her. Or Bulma. Why did he have to do it?
"Hello"
The girl jumped at the sound of his voice and fell on her behind. Kakarot raised an eyebrow. Did he scare her? He probably did. He should help her up, shouldn't he? It's something Sarada and Bulma taught him. Something about being polite.
"Sorry" he apologized and helped the girl up. He smiled kindly as he did. "I'm Kakarot"
The girl was red in the face for some reason. That confused the boy and Sarada chuckled.
"I'm um... Chichi "
"It's nice to meet you Chichi, I have a question and I hope you don't mind it"
~~~~~~
The Ox king was massive. Just massive. Not overwhelmingly big, just massive. Yamcha and Oolong were shaking in fear upon seeing the notorious beast of a man. This was it. They were sure of it. They would die on that very day. Die without achieving any of their dreams. They would leave the word without leaving their mark. They would be forgotten.
All because they were unlucky enough to run into the adventurous group of three. Their lives would have been perfect if they never ran into them. They would have lived longer if they did not exist. Why were they cursed with such terrible luck?
What was even more terrifying about their situation was the fact that Sarada and company had befriended the tyrant. The fact that they did it so easily was unbelievable. Kakarot just casually walked up to the viking, accompanied by his daughter, and said "Yo I'm Kakarot. Grandpa Gohan told me a lot of stories about you"
And just like that they entered a conversation a if they had been long time friends.
Unbelievable.
And the heat wasn't affecting them at all.
They're monsters.
"So, mind if I as how fire mountain came to be? "Sarada asked. She was comfortable sprawled out on her nimbus and idely following the conversation.
"A witch cursed my mountain "
"Were you not the one who requested it in order to protect your treasure? "
The Ox King sighed and nodded. It was because of his selfish greed. It was his own fualt. He wanted his treasure to be safe. To keep it from any thieves and he ended up on the other side of the fire. He could not get to his house or treasure because of the raging flame. Master Roshi would be disappointed.
"We're looking for something important and our radar is pointing to your mountain. We need to get it"Bulma explained as she showed the giant their radar.
"I don't mind. If you're friends of Gohan, you're friends of mine. I would give it to you if I could but... "
"The flames"
He nodded.
"Any clue how we can put out the flames? "
The king thought it over. It had been so long since the fire erupted on his mountain. He could find no option no matter how hard he tried. What could possibly put out the flames?
He remembered something.
"Didn't you bunch say you ran into master Roshi? "
"Yeah. The old man's a pervert" Bulma scowled in rememberance of their encounter. "It's hard to believe he's the supposed strongest martial artist in the world"
"He is. He taught me everything I know. And his kamehameha wave is very powerful" Ox defended. "Anyway. If you've met m does that mean you know where he lives? "
"Yeah. He lives in the middle of the ocean"
"That's great! He has the Bansho fan. It's magical and can put out any fire. You just need to go get it "
Kakarot whooped and called his nimbus to him. It was obvious he was the one to retrieve it. He hopped onto his cloud and got ready to leave but was stopped by the King.
"Would you mind taking Chichi with you? She wants to train under master Roshi like I did when I was younger"
Kakarot nodded with a grin as he motioned for the blushing girl to climb onto his cloud.
"Come on Chichi, let's go"

New Paris [a Modern-day LitRPG]
New Paris [OR] I reincarnated into the world of my favorite wuxia novel as an S ranker with unbalanced skills. [Volume 1] - Completed I was one of those people who only stood out in a crowd when their name was called. Then, I died. But instead of heaven, hell, or anything else, I found myself in the body of a young woman whom I did not recognise at first. You see, I had this novel I was obsessed with. The novel was a fairly popular wuxia that got a few sequels, and a handful of spinoffs. One of these spinoffs took place in Paris, where the main cast fought against a multi-millionaire villain. When I woke up after dying, I eventually realised that I was now the third daughter of this multi-millionaire end-game boss in a spin-off of a sequel of my favourite novel. Does this make any sense to you? Because it doesn't to me. But I guess I might as well make the most of it now. Just gotta stay away from some of the more unstable main characters and cut all ties with my 'family' to avoid certain death. [Volume 2] - Currently Airing It had not been a good idea to interfere with the characters of the original novel. Had I known it was going to cause a butterfly effect, I would have stayed in my lane and minded my business. Although, between the suspicious attacks I seem to constantly find myself in the center of, and my 'family' who is the living definition of the expression 'rich pricks', I’m not entirely sure my current predicament would have been avoidable. But maybe it isn't to be avoided; maybe I should embrace this opportunity that has been given to me and become the hero of this story? At least it's certain that I can't do worse than the original protagonist in terms of moral ambiguity; with immortality already in my pocket, and no other useful skills to account for. However, if I were to follow this path, I would have a lot to lose, including an upcoming promotion and my growing relationship with my crush. With power, glory and whatever else on one side, and my wellbeing and happiness on the other, even in this magical wuxia world, the choice is easy to make. CW: graphic descriptions of violence, swearing, implied child abuse, mention and graphic description of suicide
