The most painful moments are surreal because the world should stop. The skies should open and rain down on everything just like tears are running down your chin, despite your best efforts. Nobody should be able to smile, everything should be subdued, or giving you space and privacy, mourning with you. The world should stop, but it doesn’t. The world doesn’t care, but some people do.
